Don't enter RV and moan when u get attacked
Well I have no +40 on Union, and Defiant is usually dead, so I ain't complaining. Well it is a PvP zone get over it, don't moan, that is PvP, it is like RL you have to face it. But, it is bad to call someone a 'loser' in PvP, and those persons are not worth PvPing with for two reasons.
1. They call you a loser
2. They'll always beat you, you'll have to give up

Well to be honest, last night i saw a Stalker consistently targeting a defender, the defender was not experienced in PvP... in fact broadcast the fact on entry to Sirens that she was not used to this kind of thing and would appreciate any pointers, she had clearly accompanying a friend.
This aside, It IS a PvP zone and it was bound to happen, but I must say this stalker was overly targeting the defender (who was having very little impact on the tide of battle) because she was inexperienced. Hide-target-AS Strike-Run-Hide-target-AS Strike-Run-Hide-Target-AS Strike-Run-Hide-Target-AS Strike ad infinitum ad nauseum.
I must say,... when i see this I do not think "Wow, thats a really cunning Stalker targetting the weak link of a chain for strategic effect for his teams benefit!" - I just think "lame...one.trick.pony", and to be honest its not really hard is it, they actually fall down in my estimation as cunning stalkers.

Well beyond the skill argument why is that player acting in that manner? They are getting no reputation becuase they will be killing them so quickly after last kill.
The only motivation is to annoy or upset somebody. That is their perogative and it is PvP zone but that behaviour purposefully towards somebody who has stated they are newb will just turn that player off zonal PvP. Then they can come on the boards and complain about empty zones. And they are probably perma /hide too. Great way to guarantee permamenent empty zones.
I agree that in PvP zones everyone is fair game. If i see em I will attack mostly. I will lose or win. If it looks like they are up for more it carries on and hopefully ppl have fun.
If they start crying about it I will back off. Then probably kill them again later on for the rep. I wont repeatedly kill somebody just to wind them up. Unless they are really asking for it.
I think stalkers get in a certain mindset. Its like the stanford prison experiment. Brings out all the base behaviours in people
to put in my two cents I dont see how people can brag at one on one PvP when the system is designed to be balanced for teamplay and PvP respeccing out my main would gimp its PvE effectiveness.

You know what they just should close the pvp areas and make em co-op... As the fair and no one gets hurt pvp happens at the arena... The areas like RV and Siren's etc... Will always create grief no matter what...

I am suggesting a cap of the amount of buff/debuff acc/dmg/def/res in pvp not in pve in another pvp subjet to make fair pvp areas whatever the amount of players from each side... bad or good idea?

Thats a point i dont get along with... sure we are in a pvp zone, you wont get attacked or even killed then dont enter it, i agree with that for sure BUT tp players into a bunch of mobs to get them killed isn't pvp for me its just some kind of griefplay.. i dont care about getting killed over and over from one player but having a player on my back whos just about teleporting me into mobs to see me dying with tons of dept on my butt (cause the player could be lover lvl 50) it makes me leaving the zone even cause i was there to have some pvp with other players.... you guys complain about not haveing enough pvp action but griefing the players out of the zone like that wont give you what your asking for.
Bad.

Its the one getting killed who is bringing it on him/herself. Nobody else. Its not the killers fault you dont know how or dont want to fight back. Purposefully not fighting back is very impolite in my eyes.
Somebody coming to PVP standing like a snowman there chatting BS without a care in the world is waving a very large red flag in front of me. Act like its a PVP zone is all Im asking. Coming there to do somethign else is either simply stupid or purposeful disrespecting of the PVPers.

There are many facets to this game, some enjoy pure PVE play, some 1v1 PVP and some Team Based PVP. There is an intelligence in designing a build that goes the distance. The 1v1 match is exciting and prestigious. I'll admit, I prefer pitching brutes, scrappers and tankers against each other as opposed to other classes but again, just a personal preference and tbh after I've spent a year, well over 200 million inf and countless hours designing a super build in MIDS shouldn't I be allowed some bragging rights when I take down another brute/tanker/scrapper or any class for that matter.
I don't think the "system is designed" for anything as specific as what you had in mind, the creative freedom that this game allows (chest slider included ) is what I find great about this game. Hell I know some people who get excited about Gladiator matches and wont even want to lose one for fear of their stats being affected (no names mentioned that would be "evil") btw, Gladiator matches are really fun !!
Is the system designed for making a character, levelling it up to a mediocre level and sitting in the chalet RPing all day?? Well, again, its all a matter of personal preference. The DEVS certainly didn't encode anything to stop that kind of behaviour did they? (although sometimes I wish they would have).

Look how stupid you are. The rules in a PVP zone are "If you can shoot at it, and you aren't using an exploit to do so, nothing is against the rules".
But hey, if you want to whine about "honour and JUSTICE" while I'm killing you go ahead. It only makes it more entertaining for me, in the end. In fact, I'm more likely to hunt out and kill people who are complaining about being ganked because they've been working towards a badge all day.

I do not expect honour from anyone in a PvP zone, as that is a good way to faceplant. Gank squads have to be expected. Loudmouths, braggarts, trash talkers, and all the other denizens on the PvP zones also have to be expected. As such I do not complain about it, as I have come to the conclusion that it is pointless.
Another fact of life is however that I will get a lot less respect from some players if I behave like that. In my experience those players constitute the majority of those I find it worthwhile/enjoyable/fun to socialize with in-game. The type of player that, while they are there to have fun does not have it as a goal to ruin the fun for others.
As for the rules in a PvP zone, yes, it is perfectly allowed to repeatedly go after a specific character. Personally I just do not see the point in doing so, if I do not specifically wish to make life difficult for a particular player or drive them out of the zone. It cannot be for the challenge if you know you can easily win after the first few times. It could be to "toughen them up", but only if I was confusing being in the game with being in the military. I can see an army drill instructor using that term, but in a computer game meant for entertainment? In the army you can not leave or quit if you do not like being "toughened up", as a player in CoH you certainly can and many likely will if they do not find that process fun. Heaven knows there are plenty of people in the game who do not want to go into the zones because of previous experiences where they got abuse hurled at them while being repeatedly killed (apologies to the poster who used the term in case I misunderstood the "toughening up" treatment).
However, as I stated in my previous post, there are occasions when I do wish to make someones life difficult. I do not mind farmers, badgehunters and their ilk, but I do dislike loudmouths who only go after people they know they are likely to wipe the floor with. If a player is repeatedly going after someone who is new in the PvP zone and wants to learn/explore the zone, while throwing insults at him/her in broadcast... well, that will make me go after the player in question. It does not matter if I faceplant as well, but they will be my preferred target for the foreseeable future.
I see the post is a bit longer now than I intended, so I will stop now. It was mainly intended as a statement of my own behaviour and reasoning in a zone.

Well actually I didn't say anything about Internet Honour if such a thing exists, what I was alluding to was a sense of respect outside of team PvP, If you are taking down the 'weak-link' consistently in a team thats great!, its a sound strategy!, but thats not whats being discussed, I think (and it looks like a fair few people agree) that outside of a team or organised duel perma-ganking the same person over and over again, not getting any reputation for it and making the player miserable and they have to leave the zone is (a)self-defeating aka: discouraging people from the already empty pvp zones and (b) ...lame, do you think repeated ganking impresses anyone?, you're not getting anything from it... or maybe you are in a weird kind of way?.

PvP should be a science.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

So the phrase, "If its red, its dead", has never entered your minds in a PvP zone?
For me its simple. If i know i can kill you, i will. If i see you again after i killed you, i will again. If you bring backup to "wtfpwnz" me with brute force, i will kill you and all your buddies aswell, again and again. But of course on the rare occasion when i cannot beat you, thats what your global friends list is for and it might turn into a proper PvP battle with numerous teams.
I wont feel sad, cheap or anything else you want to call it for picking on the same person(s) over and over (if they are the only ones in the zone), because well, its just a game.
