Very nice summary of your tests, Starcrash. I'm a bit curious about some details though, so I have a few questions.
All tests:
What was the "IO level" of the combatants? Fully slotted with purple sets? Ordinary sets? Mixture of SOs and sets?
Which combatants had builds aimed at PvP? Also, were they updated for I13 PvP?
Did any combatants have and use Aid Self? I'm partly asking because I personally have found a melee character with Aid Self extremely difficult to kill (though I do not play characters with DoT powers, which would affect the usability of Aid Self for the opponent).
How much PvP experience did the combatants have? I realize this might be difficult to answer though.
Did you use temporary powers or inspirations during the matches?
Test 4:
Did the Inv/SS tank have considerable extra defense from sets?
Did the debuff toggles actually stay up during those two minutes? Usually one KO blow on a rad defender should drop them immediately. The reason I am asking is that I'm trying to understand why the Scrapper was whiffing while the tank went after the defender. If defender debuffs are still unresistable the Tanks defense should be gone.
Further, if I understand you correctly (please correct me if I'm wrong) but the Scrapper was debuffed from the radiation toggles placed on the Tank - did this debuff the Scrappers ToHit and contribute to the Scrapper whiffing? Or was the Scrapper running Focused Accuracy and resist the debuff that way?
I assume the Scrapper did not have Provoke to keep the tank on himself?
Lastly, thanks for writing up your post. It's nice to read about the battles and how they unfolded. I do not completely agree on some of your conclusions, the tank = godmode one to be specific. While tanks are fairly good now as far as I've seen, I think godmode is stretching it a bit. A 2 vs 1 I would usually not expect to win, from my own experiences in RV (where admittedly certain Flavour-of-the-Month ATs and sets are very common). This is also the reason why I have so many questions about the last test match you described.

Problems - i13 pvp
solution - i12 pvp
good changes - we all continue to scratch our head trying to think of something.
pvp was fine as it was, balance would of came with pain dom for vills, added with rewards (recipe's, larger ammount of inf) and added games like capture the flag or some shiz, larger community would of been gained. end of story. k bai

i might be a lot less grumpy wen me n GR have our chat, i know he's busy moderating this forum as he's already told me because there is wide spread panic going on as he put it that palladin's left, he's already pointed out no merging will be done without a good ammount of notice in advance so stop panicking about that. and i know he didnt mention money loss, FFM did which i also pointed out. this game will not die as u people keep it alive with ur love for PvE, my side that i loved did die last month (can hear the boo hoo's) but wotever, gg to palladin and his new job

You're reading WAY too much into what BaB said if you infer all the other stuff is just going to be QoL changes. Sure, it's going to be light on a LOT of other stuff, but there will be other stuff beyond just QoL changes and bug fixes.
As BaB said, people are going to say "WTH!?", that's to be expected because they don't bother to consider the massive amount of work that's gone in to the MA. People not interested in that are going to complain, which isn't too surprising in this modern culture of instant gratification. Well, you know what? There have been issues released that have held zero for ME, yet I've not complained about it.
Free issues are just that, free. You don't get to complain about stuff that's free.

While you dont need IOs to have a viable build, they were huge advantage pre-I13, they are nigh pointless now, and the main problem is this:
- Either IO sets provide the huge wow-like advantage, which not only pisses off people like me who hate to grind, causes PVP NOT be viable until you have them. This forces you to grind for them making it a long tedious progress of making a pvp character that can actually beat some of the vets. And causes severe inbalance between newer and older characters.
- Or they dont do anything at all, like now, so grinding for them is a huge waste of time. Completely neutralizing the reason for having them in the first place (who needs them for PVE? bah!). [censored] off all those people who like being in the wow-bandwagon, buying your way into an über-character.
Either way its bad. Personally Id rather not have them introduced in the first place and instead have time spent in improving the game engine which is responsible for having an enjoyable GAMING EXPERIENCE, rather than just a bunch of pointless endgame goals. One day youre gonna wake up and ask yourself, "what the heck have I spent all these months for? Boring grind for these 1's and 0's on server somewhere in Germany? I think I go do something more meaningful." (iteration: if getting them wasnt such a grind, it wouldnt be as bad. But since the core game system has remained unchanged all these years, thats whats wrong. Gaming experience is boring, and endgoals dont change that. Only combat has changed slightly, but that is not the core.)
I hope this was sufficient explanation since somebody once asked why I hated IOs in the first place.
Overall, this game was once great and original in the superhero genre. Unfortunately it started off the wrong foot by basing itself on hunt/gather-philosophy of WoW instead of more superhero-like ideas like the games Freedom Force, Spiderman 2, etc. A mistake Im hoping DC universe online wont do. (the interviews have got me really hopeful)

im not bein funny, but u think u need a viable build so u call it to have a chance of takin us out ?????? dont be so stupid, ive said it from day 1, we dont need purples and viable builds to take some1 out, comes down to skill before wot enhancments u have, we have got as good as we are thru sheer practice n not what enhancments we have, so u keep thinkin that u need the best build to try n take us out, u make IO's the biggest problem going to try n make viable pvp. its not the case unfortunatly, before the IO system was introduced most of us were still in warburg or RV doin wot we did before i13: the pvp fail issue came out. and yes we have IO'd builds but thats our choice, wot we've worked for on multiple toons and i dont think we should be punished for it, we dont need them to gain a advantage people but still its what we've worked for to excel ourselves and if u think im wrong, then i agree with shen, sheer childness. if the devs have listened to people like you when they came up with this failure idea of dimishing returns then i say take a good look at what kind of pvp community u have, a bunch of average skilled lazy moaning childish community and u wonder why u have lost the pvp community that did matter, that had the best interests of what happened or how u could improve pvp, u ignored us all and have very very few left, good riddance.

tbh u only use 1 "travel" type power anyway, and its not u doing the travelling, its the person your targeting and tp'in to the drone while ur stood at base, ur idea of pvp. -

Tanker - id probs say Ice/SS/Fire-Ice or WP/SS/Fire-Ice, they both work good but if u face somethin with -regen then WP just falls lol. but perma hoarfrost with hiber ul do good, with the 2 phase rule (not sure if that works still) no point in phase :P
Blaster - Fire/Em/Cold hands down, dnt need to explain
Controller - agree with the rest, ice/rad/psy is the shiz lol, i remember spag on his, undefeated ..... lol, i remember defiant vs union fights, no1 decent from union went, but we all joked about spag goin in by himself and winning, was god like lol, but ill/ta can be really annoying too 1 on 1 lol
Scrapper - id have to say spines/regen for the mobility, although not big fan of spines damage, broadsword hurts alot more lol but not big on mobility, i know that from my bs/fire scrapper wot does 1.5k dmg with headsplitter lol. regen > fire, hp isnt enough on the heal for scrappers and their alot squisher, so regen always wins.
defenders - well spoilt for choice really, rad/psy/psy is good but so is rad/sonic/power lol, cold/psy-dark-ice-sonic, their is alot to chose from wen it comes to defenders. i only got the 1 but really like my cold/ice, i cant seperate which i thinks best lol

+perc is pointless as its a buff for yourself, and as a buffer you wouldnt really need perc. Id slot Forge with either 5x Adjusted Targeting or 4x Gausians+1rech IO. Adjusted if you want bit more rech, gausians for +hp and +recov

Hope this wasnt a poor attempt of humor from you. If not then:
Stun is useless in pvp, slow animation for a mag 3 stun, BS+energy punch is a higher stun mag then Stun. And the point of a blaster is too kill a target fast, not try and stun them. On a squishie BS is enough of a stun to drop their toggle so they have no res shields up, then the ranged attacks should be enough to finish them. -

PvE Sr is great because def is good in pve. In PvP def is [censored]. Since SR is a def based set it doesnt do the best in pvp.
