Ice, Sonic and Fire all work very well (from what I've seen them do/done with them, at least). Fire works well on the Aoe side of things, Ice with the stacked slows and Sonic... well, it's Sonic 
I'd go with Ice (or Psi) ) for synergy, though I personally prefer Sonic.
WRT teaming, Ice does well enough with the 2 location AoEs and it's ST damage is nifty.

i would say ice.. playing as my main toon right now. and i must say its reaaly great in groups , as im not a soloer. scream + breath. nice combo. plus (with stacks) around %70 -rech debuff is great.
I picked ice/MM on my blaster and love it. Frost breath + psy scream + PSW is enough for any AoE you might want and the ice blasts make for a great ST attack chain. Also as an ice/MM you have an option to get a lot of control too if you have enough power slots left

I play sonic/mental the combo is really versatile and good mezzing options
Archery/metal could be nice with RoA being a fast rech nuke and the 2 aoes from /mm

Hi all,
I've never gotten on terribly with blasters if I'm honest, but the /mm secondary has me tempted to try it all again. Problem is, i can't decide on a primary that fits with it. So what I'm asking is what primary synergises (real word?) best with mental?
I was thinking probably ice for the controls but how does ice do in teams?
