Please do not panic! This is not me wearing a TNT suicide belt, but just an idea for people who really want to make an impression when they leave. I have read about this rage quit earlier today and thought I might share it with you. First I laughed and then I thought: This gives a whole new dimension to the usual question "Can I have your stuff?" Then I laughed some more. Enjoy!

Oh, I could write down what I scream at my monitor sometimes, but most of you would not understand since that would be in German.
Plus, I would be in a world of trouble if one of those few who would understand was actually a moderator. Copious amounts of swearing in a way that could be called "at the same time creative and deeply disturbing" would probably earn me a ban regardless of the fact that it was actually the Longbows' fault. -
Just when I thought I could begin the evening opening a huuuuge can of whoop-*bleep* for some unsuspecting wimps I have to see that CoX is not starting but instead applying some mysterious patch-thingy. A rather big one on top of that and the servers are apparently scheduled to be offline for some hours to come, too.
This is an outrage! I am not going to sit idly by while... ummm... well, maybe I am, but I really should not, should I?
*bleep*
This is Going Rogue, is it not? You are actually breaking your promise and bring it today instead of tomorrow, don't you?
You are playing with my feelings, you meanie devs! How can you do such a despicable thing? And yet I still love you. -
Well, those thoughts are highly hypothetical anyway since, as I explained earlier, the whole Wembley Memorial event was premeditated to begin with.

Quote:If you mean what I think you mean that sounds perfectly right to me. And do not worry: I have only a grasp of the most basic of rugby rules, but it sure is a fun game. It is like the lovechild of football and handball with a healthy amount of shopping during a seasonal sale on a Saturday afternoon thrown in.OK, so if you kick in and they opposing player strikes at it they are then onside? As long as it is a deliberate attempt? Sorry to be dense, I'm Kiwi and we play rugby.
-
Quote:Nope. The opposing player has to have played the ball in order to put the attacker onside, so "glancing blows" or a goalie merely deflecting a kick do not count.So... out of curiosity, if a player passes the ball into an offside player and it happens to hit an opposing player on the way through does that put the attacker onside?
Especially the latter case leads quite often to cases of passive offsides becoming active offsides when the formerly passively offsides player decides to go for the deflected ball, but that is already higher offsides science. -
Quote:Agreed on all accounts. Both Germany and Argentina were still clearly the better teams and won with more than 1 goal difference. Those calls shouldn't have happened, and I hope the FIFA finally pull their heads out of their ***** and into the 21e century, but those were hardly match deciding events imo.
I was very relieved to see Germany win it decisively. Otherwise this mistake could have awakened more bad blood than it is worth.
I have seen most of the matches of this World Cup and have to say that there are some referees who are not even fit to run a game on any international level let alone a World Cup match. And it is not only FIFA regulations that are to blame: yes, the FIFA has some strange views about how the rules are to be interpreted, and yes, drawing referees from states that hardly have a football league to speak of and thus letting clear amateurs referee matches on an international level is incredibly stupid. But what bugs me most are the grave mistakes made drawing referees from countries that should have something better to offer.
From a German point of view the best (or rather worst) example is a certain Mr Undiano from Spain, a beautiful European country with really great football clubs that should have one or two decent referees. And which one gets sent to the World Cup? The one who was allegedly involved in betting scandals and who is known to confuse authority and narcissism on a regular basis. If you saw the match Germany vs. Serbia you have my compassion for waiting 90 minutes for something akin to a football match to happen which was successfully prevented by Alberto Undiano's one-man show. Every physical contact was considered a foul and every actual foul was considered worthy of a yellow card. Fortunately it was a very fair game (no wonder given the fact that the time between free kicks was almost too short for actual fouls) so the players got off easy with "only" eight yellow cards in one case culminating in a yellow-red.
And although that was (in my view) the worst case there are others not too far behind. It goes so far that I am actually happy for every match that is refereed by an apparently sapient person. I only wish there were more of them. -
Quote:Actually it is not only goal kicks. A fumbled throw or a bad back pass serve the same purpose. The important part is that the ball has to come from a member of the opposing team.Well I learned a bit of football law I didn't know from that game. When the German goalkeeper took the goal kick for the first goal, 2 attackers including the goalscorer were well offside. It's stated in the offside law that you can't be offside from a goal kick - never knew that.

Quote:Nah, it does not exactly classify as revenge. It is more like justice that took a bit longer to be served. And I believe many Germany supporters are classifying it as "44-year old revenge".
Unknown to the general public the involved parties actually practiced this very event in secret to awaken a bit of Wembley nostalgia during the old classic (or rather the newest WWII reenactment according to the ever demure English tabloids). Sure enough it worked perfectly during the actual match. -
Quote:That could have something to do with Heal Other being a power and not an emote.Acutally, i space all my binds final commands. i.e., heal other or such. And it has worked just fine the 4.5 years I've been playing.
I do not know any emote that works with a space in the middle and I am not too new either (57 months). -
I have the same problem. No powers active whatsoever. Also, please do not put spaces in the middle of emote-keybinds, costume-change or otherwise. Spaces separate different arguments and each emote is its own argument, so putting a space in between will cause it to fail.

Quote:My guess: He has just recently discovered the "Q_Q" or rather its meaning and now has to use it in every other thread because it makes him feel leet. What's worse a person that occasionally whines about a topic they are concerned about or the guy that constantly whines about other people whining?

The fact that its use is hardly appropriate when somebody is just asking a question out of interest or voicing mild concern about something is inconsequential when faced with an opportunity to demonstrate his vast leetness.
On a more serious note: CB is indeed in a quite early stage, so the time for those who want to explore Praetoria to the fullest is yet to come... at least that is what my own completely unreliable sources say. -

It was no error, but a reaction to people trying to get ahead of the actual posting by trying to get to the upload page directly.

Languages! I like languages.
I am a native German speaker, use English frequently, have learned French and Latin in school (although I would have to freshen up some of my vocabulary to be able to engage in any serious conversation... not that I have met any native Latin speakers recently mind you).
On top of that I know bits and pieces of many other languages that might or might not be enough to save me from starvation or some similar fate in the appropriate country. -
Spoilsport! I liked the way this was going.

Many thanks for this great little present! I think I will tinker around a bit with those ideas you have given me. Should clean up that pesky lot of power bars just nicely.

I do not keep characters I do not enjoy playing every now and then even at level 50, so all my 32 toons are at least semi-active. That is not counting the small (in every regard
) fire/fire blaster that stays in the tutorial zone in case a friend needs a hand killing mobs for the Isolator badge.
The remaining three slots for the server are used for pretorian placeholders. -
Liegt halt jedem was anderes. Hängt natürlich sehr davon ab, was du gerne machen würdest.
Fulcrum Shift + Rain of Arrrows... *giggles*
Shucks! Now I have to play my kinetic archer again! -
Hier gibt's ein bisschen Info- und Bildmaterial zu Going Rogue, aufgenommen von einem freundlichen CoXler bei der HeroCon-Eröffnungspräsentation.
