Is there a way I can change the face of a hero I already registered?

I noticed forgot to change my hero's face when I was creating him. I registered him already and I don't know if I am able to change his face now. Am I able to do that or is the only way I can change his face would be if I created him again?

Visit a tailor. There's one in Steel, Cap Au, or the Vanguard Base that are easy to get to.

Any tailor in the game will allow you to make costume alterations, such as choosing new faces, masks, or hats.

Tailors can be found in:

Rikti War Zone
Tiki Room @ Pocket D

***

Hero-Side

Steel Canyon
Independence Port
Founders Falls

***

Villain-Side

Cap'Au'Diable
St. Martial

So they're a tailor and a plastic surgeon? Nice!

Uh, the plastic surgeon will show up when you buy the Science pack. Then it's gender bender time. You can alter height, etc, and change body type.

Normal tailors can do the face though.

I'm not exactly sure what FaceMaker uses counts as plastic.

LOL it's still called plastic surgery? Even IRL peoples faces aren't plastic, at least, not until their fiftieth Op. or so I am told!

The "plastic" in "plastic surgery" is an adjective, not a noun.

Spoilsport! I liked the way this was going.

If it has
eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

That is why they call it cosmetic surgery now!

Dragging this back to on topic - Dechs & je_saist already told you about visiting the Tailor & where to find him/her.

The only other detail worth mentioning is that it will cost you Influence or Infamy to make the change, it's not free. A miniscule amount at level 1 or 2, but still.

If this is your very first character on a brand new account, you might be short of funds. In that case, re-rolling might be the better option. The Costume Creator usually defaults to the last costume (at least the peices, not the colors) when you delete a character, if you didn't save the costume file, making it easier to recreate the look with the new face.

To last costume if you didn't already close the program.

If it costs too much when you check at the tailor, and you don't mind delete and restart, when you are at the tailor you can save your costume there.

Welcome to the game!

And yes, the Tailor is the place to go to change almost anything about your character's looks, from Costume parts to Costume Colors, to face, to power colors!

As of right now, when you create a character, only 3 things are set in stone, and can not be changed without deleting the character:

  • Archetype - Once you pick one, you're stuck. You can't go from Scrapper to Tanker to Defender and back to Scrapper. Until Going Rogue comes out, this also locks you in to the "side" of the game you play: Heroes or Villains.
  • Origin - No changing of any of the 5 Origins. The 6th Origin, Incarnate, has never been available to us. Maybe one day...
  • Powersets - You picked 'em, you got 'em. A Charcter Respecification, or Respec for short, will allow you to re-choose the order of your powers, and the placement of your slots, but will not allow you to change the powersets themselves.

Everything else can be changed in game, though changing Gender (Female <-> Male <-> Huge), height, and "build" (Athletic, Average, etc.) will require that you purchase Super Booster III: Super Science first.

Plastic Surgeons are accredited by the Board and College of Physicians. They are the ones who are doing the facial reconstruction, skin grafts and hand reconstructions. Implants also are their purview.

Cosmetic 'Surgeons' are physicians of any sort who sell botox injections and other 'minor' procedures. Generally this is the wild west of health care so you have to be very careful of who you choose to see since they do not undergo the same regimen of training that a plastic surgeon does.

IOW, Cosmetic surgeons want you to believe that they are as qualified as Plastic surgeons the same way a Chiropractor wants you to believe that they are as qualified as a Doctor of Medicine.

Some of the definitions of "plastic" as an adjective:
Biology Capable of building tissue; formative.

Surgery. concerned with or pertaining to the remedying or restoring of malformed, injured, or lost parts: a plastic operation.

IIRC, the oldest and most basic definition would be: capable of being molded or of receiving form: clay and other plastic substances.

Plastics as a noun were named that because they are so moldable and malleable.

Anyway, when your level is below the teens or so the tailor is cheap enough something as basic as changing a category (like Head, Upper Body, Lower Body, etc.) or even several of them is affordable. Changing just your face will be even less expensive.

In CoX, a face is only a costume piece, and is niether more nor less difficult to change than your shoes.
Your gender or body type, however, is a little more difficult.
