kashi just get out of the zone it's not a place to pvp
[/ QUOTE ]
did u mean PvE if not this statement sort of contradicts itself ??
Plus i never said that i was botherd about being killed what i was mainly getting at was the fact that after being ganked yes ill admit i asked if they wud refrain from ganking 6 on 1 really is not a fair fight in any1s book and then to have a broardcast sent out to ALL PvPers to kill us is a bit ott. I dont make a habit of moaning about PvP zones as i have fun PvPing in them from time to time what i DO dislike is the hassle u get for asking not to be ganked by imeasurable odds
shame ya had to get that kashi

I have to agree with those saying you have to expect to be attacked in a PvP zone, and even asking people not to attack is a bad idea. You get a lot of people who demand not to be attacked in the PvP zones, which is a bit unreasonable, and as a result, I think a lot of PvPers are annoyed by it happening repeatedly... so then you go in and make what you think to be a fairly calm and reasonable request not to be attacked, and people get really irritated, because it happens so much. You might have only asked once, but it happens a lot more frequntly than that, and everyone's already sick of it.
Mind you, I'm in no way condoning people being abusive over broadcast, because there's no need for it, and it does make the zones less pleasant... but I think everything would be a lot simpler if people would read the PvP zone warnings and take them to heart. You can and will be attacked, and the odds will very often not be fair. If you really can't deal with that, don't go into them for any reason. If you don't like it but want to go in anyway, then stay quiet when you die - you'll only make things worse by complaining.
In the cases of entirely unprovoked attacks over broadcast - and they certainly do happen - those people have no excuse. There are many times I've killed someone and had a stream of abuse thrown at me, or been killed, not said anything, and then subsequently harrassed over broadcast, and there's just no excuse for that sort of thing.

I just met a person today who says that he pvps a lot, but that he prefers defiant because union is unsportsmanlike..

Imho in defient I was dispointed with pvp aspect plus when I was last on there was a lot of regen stalkers thinking they were the 1337 crew of the world.
I find union has more crafted pvp players sometimes but neither server is better than the other.

Cool . I'm bringing my hacksaw to the zones. No "l337" where there's no fingers!
I like running around PvP zones, Warburg especially hunting for badges whilst being chased by bloodthirsty villains... :P
However, it is very annoying when you're having a duel another player and someone else (ussually stalkers) who have been watching come in and slaughter you
I believe the attitude is fine. There's just a few that try and spoil the fun on broadcast and then there's some out there with personal grudges toward each others that like to spout it for all to see. Granted this is based on very little pvp zone activities from my part in a while.
As far as no broadcast, I disagree. The villains should taunt the heroes and the heroes should retort that they are here to set things right etc. Clearly there's a fine line between that and a direct insult, which can lead to problems unfortunately. No communication between either party, I don't think that'd be good in this type of MMO.
Is there any kind of etiquette for attacking (or not) toons that are significantly lower level than you? I had my first PvP experience in Warburg yesterday and found myself attacking someone around 10 levels lower than me - a distinctly unfair fight, and I actually felt guilty afterwards for killing them (though I got no complaints)!! I know everyone should be fair game, but are we meant to show any restraint?!
Well you're all exemped/SK'd to the same level, so no, you shouldn't feel any remorse!

Realy does my head in when you see a vill fighting a hero, so you jump in to help the hero/villain dependng on what side your on, you kill the enemy and get insulted because you interrupted in a duel, in a player v player 'Z.o.n.e' where theres no rules, it does my head in.

Get yourself a nice stalker or defiancing blaster, or maybe a corruptor. I hear those are nice for breaking up duellers.

They works in theory.. however in practice you have to figure in SOs and slotting and that makes a big difference.
I've tried PvPing and find it irritating and frustrating so tend to stay well clear. Also the changes to both the hospital and now the removal of call contact has pretty much lead me to boycot PvP zones for anything other than Shivans and Nukes.
I hate the fact that you 'have' to team to do PvP, I hate being ganked and I hate the fact that heroes are stronger.
There is a lot wrong with PvP and the attitude of other players is only a tiny part IMHO. You can't blame a stalker for stabbing you in the back when thats what he is designed to do, no stalker with a brian is going to drop hide and go to to toe with a scrapper who does more damage, has more hitpoints and has better Epics...

I find its alot easier to find duelers in the zones, and I don't like the small maps in the arena. There's alot more space to fight in the zones.

Pocket D "arena" was fairly busy during last weeks lowbie PVP event, and not just the with the lvl 5's who turned up for it. It would be good to be able to choose the map though.

Which of course is right up there with going to a PvP zone to .....PvP BUT finding this in question from self-important uber duellers.
Before I get a hilarious retort, I'll add that I like duelling, I like doing it in the pvp zones but at all times I'm open to the danger of attack & accept it.
Other 'duellers' need to respect this also and respect the fact that other players are completely within their rights to attack anyone, be they duelling, badging or straightening their hair.
It's a PvP environment, them's the breaks.

Who's Brian? (only kidding, honey-bun)
I find PvP to be fun and entertaining, until such point as the Hero/Villain) gank squad descends, in which case it becomes completely pointless. I have tried PvP with all of my main toons and sometimes find that it is the most unexpected character that turns out to be better (and/or more fun) at pvp.
I remember well, the intense heart-racing moment when i first took my spiny/regen scrapper into the new zone Warburg. Now, many months down the line, the heart-racing is not there, but I still thoroughly enjoy the thrill of the kill, the thrill of the hunt....the smell of fresh blood... Sorry, I seem to have lost myself for a while there...
See you in Recluse's Victory any day!
I personally am a pvp fanatic
Love all aspects of the pvp world within this game, best i have ever come across.
If theres just me against say a group of villains, i will still continue to try to kill them *or at least one :P*, failing that - to stay alive as much as possible as that can really annoy them that it takes them ages to kill you :P also gains you their respect and iv had a few plauses about my survivability.
Havent really seen anyone shouting abuse in pvp for ages to be honest and im in the zones most days.
*im one of those people who like to take not common builds into pvp zones - mind/ta for one *
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
I had my first taste of the sour side of zonal pvp on the weekend. I decided to pop into RV for a bit of action on my level 50 villain. I was one of only two villains in the zone and there were about 12 heroes. The heroes were there to farm the turrets and I decided I'd make things slightly more difficult for them. I grabbed a Heavy and started to win back pillboxes for the villains. This was met with a torrent of abuse over broadcast. I decided to not let this faze me and carried on, adamant that if I did run into the heroes I'd try and put up a good fight. 12 against 1 arent really the best odds but I had nothing to lose. Of course I lost many times (as you would expect), but were the broadcast messages saying that I was selfish (the actual messages werent that polite) really necessary. I mean, there wasn't really a lot I could do against a dozen heroes except slow them down marginally. The reaction I got was as if I was leading a 12 villain strong gank squad against a solo badger.
I shrugged it off anyway and continued to put up a fight for a while. I certainly won't let it put me off visiting the zones, but can see what it could do to people a little less thick skinned and/or new to the game.
No toons on Defiant pvp worthy yet, so I refer to Union atm.
As for duels and badgers, you choose a risky zone, try again til its quiet or face the consequences, EVERYONE has plenty of warning of what is expected here, therefore no ill will should (in theory) exist.
My point is more about plain manners, if you beat or get beaten, no need for name calling or 'my build is better than your build' irritants.
Villainous monologues of world domination and heroic battle cries are great trash talk, its the extreme minority that seem to worry waaaaay too much about losing that get their knickers twisted, including a few choice and so-called experienced pvp'ers.
