*hits head* Doesn't the announcement usually mention Stanstead airport rail services too?

Gah! I got some 300 words in. Then I had to go get winter tyres on as it's snow, ice and slush all around starting from yesterday. I continued until 800 words and realized I don't want to start with WWII after all.

I nipped a bit to IG and the small slice of IC hunt had a nasty and surprising development right when I had to log. Maybe I'll get a sentence or two out of that...

Depending on the way to countI have either 800 or 0 right now. Sheesh.

Oh, about the editor - shoot him. He should next show his ugly mug on 1st December, earliest.

Thanks DW, you star.

Still pondering what direction to take the story... psychological and paranormal thriller/mystery?

Yes, yes it does. I think it goes Underground Lines, Stansted Express, National Rail.

Paranormal Thriller/Mystery!

I loves a good mystery I does (hee haw). (Said in a yokel accent for no discernable reason).

Shotgun armed and ready. This could prove problematical given that I'm in a meeting with IBM on Monday and my editor is attached to the part of my brain which wants to yell "You're overpriced and your product never works the way you say it will."

Still, could be fun

If it starts with the letter E and ends with A, then no. Well, I could, but I'd have to start a new story.

there's nothing like a randomly inserted bit of erotic fiction to keep people entertained... *points at many "generic" books*

The thing with that stuff is it fits anywhere... out of the blue!! like real life!!

in anycase i still haven't got a name. I've got a working title of "Crow's Path" but it doesn't mean anything!!
ARGH!!

((edit: spelling))

Niether, I might point out, does "The Saint Chronicles." Just pick something that sounds good. That's what I'm doing, anyway.

And we're off!

Mine is indeed entitled 'Dark Heart', and I'm hoping to have the downfall of a person in Paragon City so that they become a Villain the reader sympathises with.

In all, a villain planning on evil things, but the end result is one that wouldn't actually harm anyone...so is it right to stop him?

Yes! Wait. What does rhetoric mean again?

Good, old fashioned Victorian Norfolk name anyone? Or do I just refer to her as "Cook"? She is a minor character after-all.

Against all reason I've signed up for this too. I blame it on a bad night's sleep and too much coffee this morning.

Short of anything resembling a proper idea, preparation or indeed motivation it looks like I'll be painfully dragging out a CoX toon's backstory to 50,000 words. Or maybe a lot less.

Anyway, Gibbonici's the name and thanks to the power of procrastinating over something else, I even have an excerpt up.
49,513 words to go.

Would be (BBC Drama) historically accurate

I'd enter.. I'd like to enter.. But I've got NO chance of getting even close to 50,000 words in a month... FAR too much to do in the evenings...

Mine still hasn't got a title. I have characters, chapter outline, plot tied up and everything else, just no title.

Maybe it'll come towards the end...

Wuss. If that makes you want to scream, you've never dealt direct with Redmond. I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. The genius. The will to do that. Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure.... *wibble*

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Is Lusca a squid, or an octopus? I can never remember...

Based on the "Adopt-A-Dare" thread on the NaNo forums:

- Everyone no matter what they're writing, genre/timeframe etc, must include a reference to City Of Heroes/Villains.
-Bonus points if this happens in every chapter.
- x2 Bonus points if your character appears.
- x3 Bonus points if your character ends up in an intimate situation with your story's main character.

That's not fair! I'm doing a throwaway reference to a COH theme AT THE END OF THE STORY!

Minimal points for me then.

Ok, Aardy - one for you:

- Include your favourite author somewhere in the story.
- Bonus points if the actual author appears.
- x2 Bonus points if the author comments on your main character's ability to write.
- x3 Bonus points if it's a compliment.
