Write a novel in a month! NaNoWriMo 2006 for CoH

Just randomly flicking through the author profiles, in a vain attempt at procrastination - and found one person has already written 12,000 words. To keep the green eyed monster at bay, I've decided said person is actually writing a satirical dictionary.

Now. Muse? Muse? Stop eating all my chocolate!

1905 words and I'm stopping at a nice place. There's an excerpt up.

Ok I'm confused. I've added several buddies, but seem to have no way of linking directly to them or their excerpts?

Anyone help?

View Profile at the top of your page, and you should see your buddies listed underneath your word count - click a buddy, and steal...er...read their information/excerpts .

Best of luck this month to all taking part - take it from me, it's hard going. Especially about 2-3 weeks in...

Chugging through first intro scenes. Anyone have any proper information about MI5?

[/ QUOTE ]

Fake MI5 or real MI5? The Professionals would come close, if not I can probably find some websites?

Also NaNo has a forum for just such purposes

Can't find a View Profile option - Buddy list just selects them, doesn't give me a choice of anything.

Very weird.

Dagnabbit - I feel a right numpty now (keep those filthy thoughts under wraps please)

In work, I have my IE Window small and out of the way - it cut the View Profile Option out completely.

Found it now.

Thanks Stasis.

Proper MI5 please - need to know what geographical divisions they operate under and what a Greater London section head would be called.

[/ QUOTE ]

"Sir"? or anything he wants to be called?

Oddly enough, he's a newly-minted Sir as of the night before our story begins. I'm aware that by his level in civil service he'd be at least a KCMG (Kindly Call Me God) or GCMG (God Calls Me God), but Sir has a ring to it.

It also explains why he's late for work this morning, and, therefore, alive.

(As Mr. Twain would say: write what you know about. )

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Unfortunately, due to an incident at my apartment last night, I didn't get to sleep until about 4am after talking to police etc, so early-writing might be called off. Might start later on if things don't develop here.

Not a problem

The Security Service, more commonly known as MI5, is the UK's security intelligence agency. It is based in Thames House, London. The Director General of the Security Service is Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller.

This might be good for rumours

Of course, there's 546 of these on the bonfire atm.

FBI,CIA and the KGB are easy. Funny how MI5 is so much harder.

But there's always Wiki

Well, I signed up as Zortel, but between college work and GM work, I doubt I'll be able to pump out much wordage. :<

Unless this stupid write up of an experiment into Milgram's Agency Theory counts...

I am on as morganafiolett and am adding everybody who's mentioned their usernames here in an attempt to look popular...

I scribbled a bit in my lunchbreak and have got a miserable 200 words on so far... but I'll write much quicker when I'm home on the computer.

Damnably, I'm working until six tonight and probably won't get home till half seven

I'm Red_Saint, as usual. I've just read everyone else's excerpts. It's not fair; why do I get ot be the one without talent?!

I've just done my prologue of 519 words (woo, and indeed, hoo) - it's up on the site. Now to forward the document home and delete it so I don't feel tempted to continue it in work.

My novel's title just came to me! *bounce* Now it doesn't look like just another blob of writing.

I was just excited . It's called "A Black Affair" which is so incredibly awesome, that the entire book can suck - and I can get away with it.

Head of MI5 I remember reading somewhere traditionally was referred to by one letter.
For some reason I think it's "C", or possibly "M" but that might be James Bond corrupting it...

Erk so yes!
