Project Clocktower: The Villains Galaxy Girl
As one of the group in attendance when this spot was found, I have to say i think it's a fine choice, and easily reachable for lvl 1 toons (tested repeatedly during a quiet time after GG fun was finished)
As for a reason, perhaps the realisation that by working alone the groups and individuals of the Isles will never manage to push the somewhat enthusiastic Long-Bow forces from the streets of their turf (and for some of the more independant villains the same could be said for Arachnos forces)
Pooling resources to eradicate those groups that have ideas above their station such as the R.I.P. and ensure the survival of personal business interests is ample motivation. It's often the main reason for villains to gather into Villain Groups, I don't see why it wouldn't be viable on a greater scale.
Just my personal view on the idea, ignore, expand on, or improve as you see fit.
Leave it to the players to justify why their character is at a place where other villains are known to hang out.
do you think this will catch on? the only reason i play a hero is because of the fixed r/ping, if so i much prefer being a villain, is this going to be at 9:00 as well or earlier or later?
Oooo, great Job finding this Red and folks,it looks ideal.
Hope this can catch on,I'll be keeping an eye on it.

finally! we aint homeless no more! Is there going to be a CTOOC and perhaps time schedual or is it just hang there when you have sod all else to do?
Well it will be nice to be able to have the same RP potential with villains as heros, a place we can go and know that there is people to RP with like at GG.
As for the location, I really like it, even for those with an army of low level alts can get there
I'm all for time and so forth, just don't want to see GG suffer for it, though I doubt that will happen.
Place looks good, RC. Nice find to all who searched!
Only thing is timing: will it be, as others have wondered, a 9pm thing or something else? Sadly, there seems to be potential, at least, for conflict with GG. Now, that's not to say it's a bad thing - competition is always healthy and the more RP the better! - but it would be a shame to see either venue suffer because of t'other...
No idea how to resolve that, I'm afraid, but we could see how it goes, I guess.
Once again, nice idea and a great find to all!
Great initiative guys, the place looks very good!

Personal opinion: There would be many of the same people on the channel as are in GGOOC so might not be much additional value / use to create yet another channel. But if the villain players think it's good idea, you could always set up one and see how it goes.
Starting up a new venue is big job, and it needs many good first impressions. If someone goes there and five times in a row there is no one there, they'll stop going. Hence I think a set time would be very good. Possibly have couple of set nights/times at first and see how it goes, or if it's everynight, it would be good idea to make sure there is someone there every night.

Which means you boys are gonna be busy. I might pop round sometime but at the moment i've got 5 fairly active heroes to keep me busy. Then there's the urge to pop down to the pub.
Awesome, I am quite pleased how much approval this little bit of research has got.
It wasn't my idea nessicary too, Jed and several other players including Veskit and Red Saint helped look for the spot.
If we got the thing officially going, I'd go there from time to time two or three times a week.
I suggest we pick a launch date for the actual thing to start and establish it. If any of the Union Villain RP Guilds would like to help, feel free.
Maybe if we ask Bridger nicely, we could get an event going .
And creating a Clocktower OOC Chat Channel would be a good idea for location purposes.
Red..
...Red you know what im going to say about your silly clock tower idea dont you?
What a nice spot!!!!! A wile back a friend of mine _Noir_ set up a r.p meet on Cov it was fun. It lacked something that the gg has tho.. Might just be the nature of the games?
I wish you luck and will make the effot to pop over the first night i can.

Thanks Jesty.
Maybe we could possibly start the RP slightly earlier (8PM perhaps?) for those who want to get an hour each of RP in the evening...
Nice work people, I will have to go and have a look later. As with GG, I'd only be an occasional visitor but it would be grand to know there was a place where RPers could gather together regularly.
As for motivation, I agree that it should be down to the player to decide motives. Some of my villains would come just to wind down but some would come out of sheer lonliness (it ain't easy taking over the world on your own you know).

I'm up for a test run this evening around 10PM. Just to establish some things and get the general feel.

Agreed that people should have their own motivation for attending, but what I think, is that like Galaxy Girl there needs to be a reason why it's *this location*.
The quick-history: GG started after Prize called a raid on Striga Isle, which some well-known old-timers such as War Crow, Zortel, Midnight Agent etc. went on. It was then decided that the Galaxy Girl statue would be used as ameeting place for heroes to stage further similar activities. (All IC of course) Thus, GG as we know it was born.
With the Clock-Tower, I'd say something similar should be attempted as background. Not as an exact science, but IC, not many villains are going to turn up to an apparently random spot.
Veskit's idea seemed suitable to me. Characters don't have to turn up *because* they want to combat Longbow, but they turn up because they know there's going to be others there due to the call-out.
sounds great, i will bring along Leprechaun. lol, and try him out as well, see how the outlandish costume goes down
Count me in. Hopefully I will be able to make it at 10 tonight. Will there be a chat channel too or am I getting ahead of myself?
Hope to see you all there.

Sounds great,Red. I'll be sure to keep an eye on it.
Maybe the Calculator makes his home there. (Or a CoV analogy thereof, since I'm sure some people will be picky.)
For those who don't follow modern comics (heathens), Calculator is DC's information broker for villains. The "Oracle" for villains, as it were.
There's irony in it, what with the "Clocktower" having been Oracle's base a while ago.
So maybe villains visit the location to get something they need. Info on who squealed on them, a device to stabilize their powers, or whatnot. Standing around for a while could be justified by the Calculator having a "waiting room" outside. He can't deal with everybody at once, so people will have to wait outside for their turn.
Just a suggestion.
Hmmm... I'll come along... 10pm tonight, eh?
I've set up a CTOOC global group if people want it...
Well, first time RPing in CoV and it was grand. I hope this takes off big time.

Yeah, it was fun. Pity we all had to abandon the clocktower later though because of a pair of complete tools were trying to disrupt it.
Still, I got my first two people ever on my ignore list...
Well, so concludes (for me) the first trial night for Project: Clocktower. And I must say, the results were extremely surprising and quite frankly, more than I expected.
We got quite a group of RPers joining us, only a few of us were from the Galaxy Girl Statue.
When everyone arrived, it was a tense and confusing situation where many thought it was a trap:

Finally, that Doctor chappy gathered us all towards the centre and the introductions began.

Once the embalming fluid started going, Mister Necropolis began to relax...

Now the evening passed and the crowd got more relaxed on the neutral turf, with only a few NPC Invasions. The most amusing moments of the night go to the Mad Scientist and his robot who had a touch for human woman.
Sadly, the Tool Invasion happened in the twilight of the evening (more on that later) and we had to evac from the ground floor of the Clocktower to one of the several balconies.

The Tools got to us again, so this time we retreated to a much more secluded location with the remaining RPers (Thank you Wonka and Group Teleport).

While there, Mr Necropolis decided to search a shipwreck for possible treasure and took out some of the punks there...

It was a mostly perfect evening, I thank those who turned up and took part or just watched.
Now, the tools. Sorry Robot Crusher and Half-Pint (not), I do hope you are enjoying your 4 day Vacation for the harassment. Don't come back.
Okay, Today me and a few GGer RPers decided that we've had enough of the homeless situation of casual between missions RP that the Mercy Isles has had since it was opened to us last winter.
So we met up in Fort Darwin on Mercy Island and searched for a nearby area for RP.
And we found it. Darwin's Landing, a quiet little area with a few level 1 and 2 NPC's nearby a short walk away from Fort Darwin via an easy to follow path (In other words, keep going north). The most striking features of the walled in area aside from the massive multi ledged Clocktower were the slighty vandalised phone booths, benches and even a little dirty garden for those like to clog up the sweet Earth with plants of pure Evil.
Easy to get too?
Check. Even marked on the map and on the main path from Fort Darwin.
Interesting surroundings and people?
Check.
Full of Atmosphere?
Heck yeah!
I'll included some screenies of the area thoughtfully taken by Mr Necropolis. Have a gander and see what you think.

The view ontop of the Clocktower spire, makes even the most dead Villains leak some sort of tear like liquid from the eye ducts...
