ok, when you say a jab, yu mean both arms go up in aboxing guard and they strike out with a quick straighten and withdraw punch, like a boxing jab? if so, awesome. also for the ko blow, are the hands together, like an upward axe handle punch(from pro wrestling) also, have you seen martial arts yet?

ok dire worg(ss/litbrute) is getting some of those moves, the ko blow and jab are much better, its not boxing stanced, but the jab is an actual jab.
rian is probably taking the cobra strike and cak changes. i love the axe kick, but the weird flex before delivering it made it less appealing than the punch.
The alternate animation for footstomp, groundpunch?, is what I had hoped would be done to handclap when/if knockback gets toned down to knockdown... not that it's going to happen. The animation is nice, but footstomp is still foostomp!

When you imply that the animations for these powers are changing... you really mean to say that they will have the option of changing.
Well, of the SS and MA alternate animations, about the only one I really like is the 'ground punch' for Footstomp. The MA ones are particularly 'meh'. The KOBlow alternate is okay. The Eagle's Claw alternate is just bad.

These are all pretty awesome. Glad to see the stone dagger move made it into Earth Assault.
As for the MA/SS:
Have one character with MA. She's a martial artist (duh!) who used to work with the Council. Great physical shape, very agile and flexible. Always bothered me MA was all kicks.
I like the starting kicks enough that I probably won't change them. The little gut-punch thing isn't flashy or fluid enough for her tastes either. I like the Cobra uppercut, but don't have Cobra sadly. Not too happy with the CAK exchange either. And the Eagle replacement is nowhere near flashy enough. Just watching the video I can't say I'll be replacing any. For that character I'm looking more for really flashy moves, akin to how DB was built.
Have a Troll Brute with SS. Ideally she's supposed to look clumsy and unskilled. She uses brute force and doesn't care about where she hits. So I actually like the classic Knockout Blow.
The new Jab is a maybe, but probably not. It seems a little to "intentional" to me though, at least for her. New Punch is a definite yes though. The old one looked half-baked. New one looks better, while still looking "clumsy" enough for me. Going to be really hard to pick between new and old Haymaker. I like both. New KO Blow is good, but it doesn't suit her. Foot Stomp is going to be hard to decide too. Love that new animation, but I think an actual stomp might fit a rage-o-holic better. Though a fist into the ground is just as angry. Gah, decisions!

Well, I know I'll be keeping the whole old set for SS on one character - just because. But I've got enough SS characters I can see myself mixing and matching for the heck of it. Wonder how many times I'll double check what I just activated after seeing the new animation mixed in.

Well, if you can tie the animations to a specific costume slot just like you are supposed to be able to do with the coloring you could have one costume do the foot stomp, the other the 'ground strike' version or whatever they are calling it.
I do like the new punch and jab - I could never figure out why they used essentially an elbow strike as a 'punch' and a rabbit punch to the kidneys as a jab (at least thats what it always looked like to me). I really couldn't make out the new KO blow animation so I am not sure there either. The MA stuff looked like a mixed bag - I actually am quite fond of the current thunder/storm kick animations and am oK with crane kick - I can't stand crippling axe kick but I am not sure the new version is any better - at least not without a better view than the video gave.

not all powers got alternates. no alt for dragons tail.
I was really hoping for some knife hand and ridge hand options, especially for Crippling Axe Kick and Eagle's Claw. Spinning Ridgehand would work for Dragon's Tail, I would think.

So wait, did you just make Zohan a little more rad by saying they were smart enough to steal the rad animation of EC from Cox?
With the Super Strength animations I may be willing to make a tank or brute with the set. Maybe a classic Invuln/SS tank, since the new animations fit my idea of a classic Golden Age superhero much better than the current ones.
Words fail to describe how much I hate the original SS animations. Especially the Punch animation.
The MA animation options will be nice for a MA/WP character that has never had any formal training, just lots of fighting experience. I will probably be swapping all of the animations out for that character. I'll be rerolling my current DB/WP into MA/WP because the animation options fit the concept 100x better.

Yeah, I'm liking a lot of the new MA animations for my scrapper for the same reason - she's not a trained martial artist, she's a self-taught fighter. I'll keep some of the kicks, for sure, but maybe I can finally stand to take CAK. Not to hot on the eagle's claw alternate, but that move looks way too awesome to ever replace anyway. Serious Rule Of Cool there. And the cobra strike animation looks nice, but I don't think it really looks right for an attack that does effectively no damage. Now if cobra got the clobber treatment, maybe...

The new MA animations aren't supposed to super-sexy, IMO. They are essentially the Dev's answer to all those clamoring for a Streetfighting/Brawling set. I think it works splendidly.
Also love the new SS animations. My SS Tank will take them all - he is the Classic Hero. My SS Brute, on the other hand, will probably keep the old animations. She's never bothered to learn to fight 'correctly'. She's just strong and smashes things... However, I might changed her Haymaker, simply so I won't have the redundant animation with Air Superiority.
