I need some alternate costume ideas...
Well, what about a progression of "hack" to "ultra spiffy" quality armor? More and more sleek design, indicating their travel through the levels with more and more respect and influence to afford to improve on the original.
Or, the normal model, then "down time" - surely he doesn't wear the armor *all the time*? Heck my peacebringer's one costume was her 'you caught me just as I finished working out' outfit with legwarmers and a headband and little shorts. Maybe he has a workout outfit. Or, does he have a day job? An alternate identity?
Oooh, or what about his "I'm doing Public Relations today" maybe with a different head (I'm assuming helmet, obviously it'd be moot without one) that shows his face to smile for cameras/meet people.
Also the passage of time - maybe have his original face, but then in later costumes have an older one?
Please read my FEAR/Portal/HalfLife Fan Fiction!

Multiple sets of armor? Not all armor is appropriate for all situations, that could easily explain it for your character.

Is it high-tech or low-tech armor? If it's low-tech, make a high-tech version, or vice versa. And if it's high-tech, and you don't like the idea of a casual outfit, you could make an undersuit (Think Zero-Suit Samus).
The off-beat space pirate...Capt. Stormrider (50+3 Elec/Storm Science Corruptor)
The mysterious Djinn...Emerald Dervish (50+1 DB/DA Magic Stalker)
The psychotic inventor...Dollmaster (50 Bot/FF Tech Mastermind)
Virtue Forever.

Actually the armor was suppose to be more of a Roman look like the Cimorans.
Some ideas I use for different slots...
Normal Hero Costume
Early Days Hero Costume (The version of his outfit the guy wore before he got corporate sponsorship, or whatever. Think Spiderman during his brief amateur wrestling career in the first film)
Crazy Power Surge (Auras, mostly, but sometimes actual physical changes if the character actually transforms into something under great stress. My Plant/Thorn Dom has a second costume that's all the leafy bits and glows green, for example, that's tied to my Domination button in a macro).
Battle Damage (Liberal use of ripped robes and pants, the Blast color pattern, and Camo face pattern for dirt or smoke)
Civilian Casual (Even Batman takes off the cowl and hangs around the mansion every so often... granted, only when he's recovering from some greivous injury, but it's still something)
Civilian Business (Does your hero have a dayjob for roleplaying purposes in addition to badge purposes? What does he wear at work?)
Civilian Formal (For the occasional RP Wedding or High Society Event. Or for the one RWZ mission with the diplomats so you can ignore Fusionette's criticism)
Heroic Formal (What would my hero wear, if his normal costume wouldn't feel appropriate for getting a medal from the President, for example?)
Heroic Casual (One of my characters uses Power Armor, and I made a version of his suit with just the boots and one glove, for if he only had time to put on the most essential bits, or he was hanging around in his lab tinkering with the suit but not wearing the full thing)
Evil Doppleganger (Seriously, how common are "[MacGuffin] turned me evil" stories in comics? A ton of my characters have costumes built for their own antithesis... usually a shade more complex than just adding a goatee)
Classic Era (A couple of my characters are Franchise Heroes. Either they've inherited the family powers, or picked up the identity from an older hero who's retired. Both of them have updated the official look, but kept a version of the oldschool version around for photo ops or whatever)
Special Environment Gear (Look to action figures for this one... the most common variants are Arctic, Aquatic and Outer Space)
Period Costumes (Ok, so our time travel options are limited to the very recent past, Ancient Rome, and the 60s in one Villainside Arc. But you never know for sure when those options might expand)
Super Group Unity (Never a bad idea if you want to gain favor with your superiors, even though it rarely happens in actual comics... mostly with the various X-Teams)
And Now I Mean Business (Upgrade your Shoulder Pads! Add an extra shine to your Big Honkin' Gauntlets! Throw on some Belts, with Pouches! Change your Big Goofy Smile for a Constipated Grimace. Like the regular costume, but it's you prepping up for something slightly more serious with a more heavily armored version of your outfit, but beware overdoing it... don't want to look like you were drawn by Rob Liefield)

I frequently give my characters a Silver Age style costume as well as a modern one. I also frequently give them Day Job/off duty costumes. For those with self-rez's I have post-self rez costumes. I'll also follow the HeroClix line of thought and give them a Rookie, Experienced, Veteran and Unique look. Costumes can also be the result of storyline progression of the character (such as my Stalker getting an organic, living costume from the Shadow Shard).
Sometimes I even find one lone costume is best (such as my Bane Spider; I love that armor so much I never want to change him out of it).

WARNING: I bold names.
I think Eisenzahn hit pretty much every base that can be hit.
One of my characters is slowly transforming into a dragon-esque form and so each time he earns a costume slot, I use it to progress him closer to his "final" form. I think I will have him develop an anti-dote at some point and will thereby be able to use the /cce # ccdrinkformula emote when SBIII comes out.
Another character is completely natural and so will have just an assortment of civilian clothes... and his medieval helm of course. He is mostly a joke character.
Warrior characters are probably the easiest to come up with costumes for.
- Regular armor.
- Alternative armor
- Hi-tech armor if you are normally low-tech/low tech armor if you are normally hi-tech (to visit Cimerora and not scare the locals).
- Armor with helmet off - or with helmet on, if you don't wear a helmet normally.
- Civilian clothes.

The character I have is more of a warrior type so he appears to wear heavy armor. To be honest I cannot think of a reason why he would have multiple costumes outside of "just because."
Any ideas to toss?

Bolding mine.
What gods, ancestors, or spirit guides does your warrior pay fealty to? Multiple versions of armor can exist for each specific fealtor, and you wear the one that honors them, maybe for a specific enemy they hate or represent.
Do you fight for ideals? Maybe your armor sets are very similar, but each uses color accents that stand for things such as Integrity, Loyalty, Justice, and Revenge.
Maybe your warrior is a mercenary and uses an armor set that most closely matches his current employer.
Do those ideas help?

[/ QUOTE ]Roman, you say? How about Briefs, no shirt(maybe whatever the leather strap chest detail called?) and barefoot, or if you have the Samurai vet reward, arm and leg guards. Maybe add a cape for that splash of color.
If you have the Valkyrie set, you can add in the Valkyrie skirt, in darker tones, as well as a big shiny helmet w/ Valkyrie mask and crest.
Just wanted to update and say thank you for the ideas. I will post my costume ideas if anyone is interested in seeing them or wants to give more advice. I was away for 3 days so I couldn't post.
Various time periods
You know, like a Golden Age, Silver Age, etc. or just different time periods (ie. Max Mercury).
Battle Damage
I have a character that I play where if it ends up going to a hospital while on a team, it shows back up with robotic legs.
I have another one with costume to show that it taken dimensional-damage from jumping through so any different dimensions during the end game Portal Corp Story line.
Different People pretending to be or called the same "name"
Completely different people that say that call themselves by the same "super hero" name or often confused and assumed to be that "super hero".
Level Progression or SK/Mentor status
I have some characters that have costumes that they wear when they exemplar down or are sk'd to indicate a "less powerful" version of the same character.
Hmm. A Roman look?
I'd go with:
1) Armored, with helmet, no cape (or a torn cape). Ready for combat.
2) Armored, with cape, no helmet. Fancy occasions, parades, that sort of thing. Shiny and fancy. Maybe an Aura.
3) Toga. Off-duty roman.
If your character is widely travelled through time and dimensions, it's conceivable you've simply picked up different armors in your travels and have different outfits from or for different times and places. When in Rome, do as the Romans do, etc.
But not every character needs many costumes. If my character is a mutant, I might only have one specific look, but if my backstory and powers aren't based on my appearance or outfit, then I might change costumes all the time simply as a whim.
Heavy armor, light armor for those long hikes through the desert where platemail is inappropriate. Day to day where. Future armor, old armor, battle damaged armor, black armor for those evil moods, and of course sexy bikini armor or loincloth for the "fantastic" armor look.. There's a wide variety of things.
If you only want one costume though, that is in fact allowed. It's not like you are required to take more. Sometimes a character only needs one set of duds.
For Earth Day you should make a naked costumes... and say he is "Going Green" ???
I sometimes do variants of the same costume. Coppertop for instance has his basic costume, A Costume without his helmet on, and a Costume that makes him look scruffed up.
Ok another update, I have two of the costumes so far and I am working on the third. The third costume is suppose to represent an aspect of death. Death meaning like a magical form not that I died.
Basically, I want to use the skeleton head and bone wings. However, I am having trouble with the torso and legs. I suppose I could simply just remove the helmet and cape from my original costume (Where the character is in armor) but I wanted the transformation to look like an undead creature.
Any suggestions how I could do the torso and legs? I know zombie exists but it doesn't seem to match well with a skeletal head...
You could use Chaos Leather or Sinister for that "patched together" chest / legs look, since you cannot actually be skeletal....

The best warriors wear almost nothing at all.
Ok another update the chaos leather worked great. I still have to unlock my last two costume slots but I have ideas for them. I will post more in a bit.
