I use the overhead bars more than the status bar for hitpoints and endurance tracking. I like to keep my eyes on the mobs and myself not looking at the UI in combat.

That's also the general button layout I have on all of my characters.
Also, I love that emote, so I took the picture on the test server.
One of mine for my mastermind with inspirations in the typical spot. Would have posted my fire/fire brute which is a bit mroe interesting, but I've deleted it since the last time a thread like this popped up.

Only thing missing is three windows with global channel tabs, just had closed them for taking SShots (I forgot to anchor and close the "Friends" window too, so I whited it out

Two observations from checking out the other layouts so far:
1) Some of you have very crowded or even blocked up lower portions of your screen. Do you play zoomed out or something? I try to keep gaps there, especially, if I have side-by-side Team and large (Mastermind or Illusion) Pet windows. This is so I can drop patch type powers (Caltrops, Freezing Rain, Tar Patch, etc) on the ground at my feet while in a rush without having to fumble around with my view.
2) Not many of you have 'Show Player Health Bars = Always'. I feel so handicapped without it.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

Jeez, how do you deal with such a cluttered interface?
I don't play in first person view at all. I like to see whats going on around my toon at any given moment. If i were in fps view I couldn't see any aggro that may be coming up behind me and whatnot.
Some fights are nearly impossible to contain the aggro anyway. Last night I attempted to fight the woodsman. It didn't matter how I managed the aggro... wipes abound...
I do always play with the health bars enabled. I do wish it worked on target assisting, but it only has the option for target always not combat targets or party targets.

Probably something like 1/2 of my time is spent playing characters with patch or place powers. Having stuff on the bottom of my screen never really interferes with placing them at my feet. I play in 3rd-person view for the same reasons already mentioned - it lets me know what's going on behind me. If, for some reason, I need to place something in a place my interface blocks, I just rotate or tilt the camera as needed. I'm very "camera active" when I play, and I use the middle-mouse wheel to change zoom rapidly.

Actually, playing in IMAX would result in a narrower screen (side to side). (Your "Knowing is Half the Battle. G.I. JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!" moment of the day.)
It's called nice 24" monitor, better than perfect vision (20/15) and great peripheral vision (slightly better than 160 degrees).
I play at even higher resolution (1920x1200) on my laptop. Granted, it's only a 15" widescreen.
In short, good eyesight. Some of the rather...cluttered, low-res screens some of the people use would drive me up a wall.
The windowed mode and spanning has some possibilities, as I DO have additional monitors to chuck at the game. But if virtual blindspots brought about by UI drive me nuts, I think physical ones, brought about by monitor borders, would cause my head to explode.
That and it'd create a mess when I went to play on my laptop then. As it is now, I just drag the stuff along the bottom down a bit and I'm golden.
My landlord HATES cleaning brains out of the popcorn-plaster ceilings.

I'm one of those cluttered windowed mode people you speak of. I like my desktop at 1280x1024, and I like my UI at 1600x1200, however only a few games allow you to nest 1600x1200 on a smaller desktop. There is UI scaling to simulate it but I'm comfortable with the ui scale as I have it.
If you can pull it off more power to you. I would go mad squinting to read anything though lol.

2) If I'm not on a team with you, I don't care about your health bars. If I am on a team with you, I can look at the team window. I do have the bars show up when I select you, though.

I'm always going around mercy helping lowbies who are destined for a fall. Either by pulling aggro and giving them a breather or bubbling them. Keeping HP bars up is the easiest way to spot them.

Wow I didn't know that other people really customized their UIs so much, I didn't find that I needed to so mine is pretty standard.

Pretty much like that for all my toons. After seeing some of these UIs I think I might do some tweaking and use that TweakCoH.
All I can say is how can you folks read the fine print in your chat windows when you obviously have it set on such a minute scale. Do you all have 50" plasma screens that you play on??

its a cute font for immersion, I can see using it in word balloons but doing it for the entire UI is bordering on insanity. I can barely read it.
