If they did that, then I'd suggest they keep paying for the game so they'll have a load of Vet rewards when they come back

Then I could afford a top line rig that would allow me to keep playing from any location on the planet.
I could also afford to go to the devs in person and give them a dump truck full of cash with the instructions to spend it on more costumes and base lovin.

i kinda got burnt out on CoH too. Gonna take a break but i honestly don't know if i'm coming back. I'll probably re-activate just to see what's in the time capsule, but that's about it.
things i think the game needs:
-log out to character select screen
-ability to mail things
-windowed mode

I play the lottery on a semi regular basis, so in my day dreaming I have thought about this exact scenario. Since I very much would love to travel the world, but I don't think I'd give up CoH.
In fact I would probably just buy 2 ridiculously high powered lap tops with satellite internet connection so that my girlfriend and I could play CoH in our down time during our travels around the world. And then I could inform all the people I team with of the lovely view I have in India while I am playing the game.
Of course I would only be able to do a couple missions at a time between sight seeing and what not, but I like this game too much to just walk away from it.
OP: Sorry to see you go, we hope you come back soon and in the mean time.. Help the economy, let some of your friends haz ur stuf.

Windowed mode? We have had that since the beginning. The ability to change to window sizing is in the graphics setting option, at the bottom of the list of different resolutions.

way to try to bogart a nice goodbye thread, you attention [censored!!
hate to see someone leave due to logistics clay, hope things change for the better and you come back (so don't give everything away), the more vets playing the better for everyone.
and to the sat. internet connection speculation; HELL NO, it won't work, latency is wayyyy too high, even on it's best day it would work worse then a dial up connection. satellite internet is a last ditch effort at best, although i may be harboring some bitterness. 
Oh yeah, that was the time that girl got her whatchamacallit stuck in that guys dooblickitz and then what his name did that thing with the lizards and it cleared right up.
