People build for +dam (in general, not necessarily on Stalkers) so they're doing more damage all the time. In a game where incoming damage types don't really matter anymore, even a bit more damage makes a big difference. Personally I've been building for +HP, and +dam often comes as a side effect of sets that have +HP bonuses (recharge as well).

Good stalker builds generally have always been damage based. I knew alot of people who had 50%+ damage bonuses on their stalkers. Recharge isn't quite as important on a stalker.
As someone who just recently got his stalker (first toon ever mad, but just got it to 50) and been plain more vils lately, I try to team with people so everyone can have a chance at the kill and drops when they were enabled. I always try and start a team, cause its frankly more fun.
But you always get those few that decline and want to go solo. Now I don't mind KS'rs at all its apart of the game. But if I tried to invite u to a team or noone wants to invite me to there team, don't get butthurt cause I KS'd you after trying to share it.
lol I will give you a perfect example - a corr and mm were tping from the hosptial to the roof and trying to kill targets. It worked okay for them. When they started getting in trouble I would help out by as ing before a blaster or scrapper wrecked them. One of them sent me a tell calling me a kser and to go away. I said np, I will just hang and watch. They got wrecked, by one blaster and then one scrapper...
I sent him a tell again - saying this is working out great for you, why not invite me to team? "I don't team with stalkers...."

It will be hilarious to see whatever stalker of either side doesn't have capped stealth and as soon as one stalker appears to AS him, an entire cascade of stalkers will appear right after to AS that one and so on. So each de-stealthing of one will lead to an explosion of sudden attacking and activity. Then right back to a seemingly empty zone.

I find it funny that we're scrapping the bottom of the barrel for issues and killing each other about KSing. I agree, stalkers solo ATM, kinda do act like jackels, and that true skill in the AT is hard to come by, but, not many of the good stalkers are quite the braggers in broadcast.

Maybe you and I have different definitions of what constitutes a "major redesign." I expect there will eventually be changes to the way the perception/stealth caps work which will require additional changes to stalkers (e.g., increased damage outside of Hide, hit points increase, etc.) in order to avoid neutering them.
Sure, I could be wrong. Despite what you appear to believe, I would expect villains to whine, cry, and complain about stalkers when they find themselves on the receiving end of AS's, rather than using the available counters. Once both sides are united in their complaints, I think changes are more likely to happen.
Maybe your experience tells you that people always use all the available counters they have at their disposal, but that differs significantly from my own experience.
If you don't think hero stalkers will lead to increased complaints about stalkers, I think it is you who is obviously clueless.
they can fix the problems with stealth easy by making things like choking cloud, woc and others be an auto hit - stealth - kinda sorta like artic air.

Fully expect more baddos to complain about them. Then just like now it will be baseless whining because you aren't willing to learn to adapt to them. Stalkers are such a low concern to anyone willing to want to deal with them and there are so many more 'real' concerns when pvping. I for one haven't worried about stalkers since they put the one hit code in.

And a Stalker never scares me on my Heroes. There are literally a TON of ways to keep yourself from being a Stalker victim. Anytime you end up dying ala Stalker, its because of "one" of only "two" things: 1.) You're a total nub -or- (2.) You made a mistake. And for either of those, you can't complain that you got killed. Why? Because anyone can make a mistake and get themselves killed, and nubs should expect it.
FF'rs and Stormies can effectively neuter most Stalkers in zone pvp. Just having 2 FF'rs in a zone, will dang near eliminate Stalker AS threat by almost 90%, and this doesn't account for the dozens of other methods which can easily be employed by someone in order to prevent AS kills by Stalkers.
I'll reiterate something I've been saying in several threads now, Stalkers are no more a threat than ANY AT out there. If they are really threatening you enough that you feel the need to cry about it and that they are somehow "overpowered", then [u]you[u] need to start seriously looking at how you pvp and find where [u]you[u] are doing something wrong. When you find what you're doing wrong (and what has been going wrong for you) you will cut down the amount of times you're AS killed by random Stalkers greatly. Sure, it will still happen every once in awhile, but that's as it should be. You should never be "100% proof" versus anyone in this game.
This is not directed at anyone, this is just me enlightening those reading this thread. Me? I can't wait for Heroes to finally get Stalkers! I think the pvp will become even more interesting than it currently is, for BOTH sides (since Vills will have access to Blasters too)

From what I have seen, people who mostly play villains in general are much slower to adapt to changes than people that mostly play heroes. And usually when they do make an attempt at adapting, it is usually just to roll another Stalker and hide (literally) from the problem rather than try to beat it.
Example: The huge influx of PBs and flying Dev. Blasters with snipe that often go unchallenged in Sirens since issue14. Rather than play something that is capable of bringing them down to earth such as a Traps Corr or a Bane, many villains have chosen to counter them by playing Stalkers. This is just plain stupid since Stalkers are particularly disadvantaged against a Dev Blaster in the air. Even if they do manage to get the AS, the Blaster just webnades the Stalker and goes about his merry way. Extrememly unlikely to get a kill on one in the air without significant teamwork, which again is unlikely where villains are concerned. And PBs can be even more difficult to kill in that same situation.
No, villains are going to get wrecked by hero Stalkers unless they learn to set aside their soloing ways and adapt to what the heroes are doing instead of just hiding.

You forgot to mention hero heavies (thanks fix) and the fact that till i15 hero side still had most damaging ATs. Also, travel supression that makes it impossible to run away from ganks in most cases. I think only vill AT i didn't try in zones after i13 launch was MM and in my experience only ATs i was actually able to survive ganks on for most part and get kills were stalkers and widows. Widows got gimped to gabage level in i14 so...yeah..........go figure.
I hate the new PvP. Just saying, they tried to make it where it was "Everyone" friendly, but it's not. I mean, they just crapped all over the powers, and people still somehow make awesome builds. Builds that can kill you in 2 seconds and your left standing there saying: "I thought this was supposed to be harder for them?"
Buuuut no.

[/ QUOTE ]Your forgetting, some of us actually run vills cause it's the underdog. When i got the game i started on heroes learned the game, noticed the vills seemed to be outnumbered, out gunned, so i wanted to ride with them. Why? because it means more to win, when your not meant too.
People have been crying for years, about the disparity of heroes and vills, from the epics, just down to the way the hero AT's are designed. Vills just got better epics recently, but for the longest it wasn't the case.
But what your noticing, is a influx of nubs created by castle himself. This poorly thought out i13-15 pvp made it so newer people never learned, the things older players learned in pvp. It's a dumbed down, shell of itself, and thats saying alot because i12 pvp was far from perfect. It just was way more fun, and rewarding than this.

Yeah, I've been PvPing with villains almost exclusively since CoV came out. I'll play a hero on occasion if they need help, but I always get bored with them and go back to villains. It's far more fun to be the underdog. And there's rarely a shortage of targets

imho, ks is just a part of the landscape (whether you seek it out, avoid it, or hardly notice it as you work with your teammate/s), and far from the exclusive domain of stalkers or solo players. the hilarious muddy pile o' damage i saw in RV earlier, with it's score of people at low health yet refusing to budge, was probably a ks paradise. whether they did that solo, duo, teamed is their right :0
