Arena badge info...
With Carnada's valuable feedback last night, we figured out these little details as we ran a Tournament Victor badge coop:
<ul type="square">[*]Fastest method is to have the player advancing for the badger to defeat his/her matched opponent while all others exit their own matches. Having one player defeat the other in matches where the badger is absent has no effect other than possibly take up more time.[*]Some matches will pull in a 3rd participant during the second round. Proceed as usual. One will likely be kicked out automatically. There was no impact that we could see on advancements when this happened.[*]Sometimes the one supposed to advance will not. We thought staying in the arena until the timer expired (after defeating the opponent) helped, but then later on it happened again despite this. Leaving before the defeated opponent did not change this outcome (I was experimenting since this happened to me personally). No clue what is happening there.[*]We saw a match where the badger advanced through all 3 levels... facing the same opponent each time. Badge was awarded nonetheless.[/list]
We had the minimum 8 required to start these, and swapped out characters as we progressed for those with multiple badgers so in all I believe 15 or 16 characters got badged. This was apart from Carnada's own runs.
█ Players Guide to the Cities
I was on a team yesterday that allowed three of us to cycle for the tournament badge and each of us got it each time.
The way we did it was once the fight started, all but the badger exited without fighting anyone. Once the win message came up for the badger, they exited as well. The same tactic was used for the second and third stages; go in and let the match start; all but the badger quites; badgers waites for the win message and timer to go down.
Using this tactic, three of us were able to get the badge successfully.

[/ QUOTE ] This was not my result. There was NO defeating involved for us to get our badges. The only difference here is we waited for the timer to start the match before we quit the matches. Then everybody progressed as they should have.
If both people quit before the match actually started, we got strange results like you describe, with the wrong person proceeding forward and people being in matches by themselves.
In short, the easiest/fastest way is still just to quit.. but only after the match actually begins (you are able to move).

Thanks for this.
I'm running it again on Protector tonight, perhaps tomorrow as well, so I'll be able to confirm if that's what happened to us last night by making sure everyone waits until the fight actually starts (timer visible).
It may be that part wasn't clear to everyone last night.

For the record, I've just got it on my pb. Works for any hero AT, too :
2 players with both the same AT. One create and list a custom battle royal, unrated, 1 kill. The second joins. First change the match type to [u]pentad[u], even if there are 2 EATs, and start the game. After one is dead, the winner must wait some seconds before the badge is awarded.
Works fine with pb and shades, and yes, you only need 2 people.

It is possible to get the Pentad Victor badge on a villain.
1) Log in your villain.
2) Go to the Arena.
3) Start a Hero Pentad.
4) Get two heroes of the same AT to join, just so you get someone else on the other team.
5) Start the event, wait for the timer, and have the solo Hero on the second team exit.
6) Villain get the badge!
I suspect a Kheldian may be able to do the same thing, or you can do what Sadyre suggested.
P.S. If this is an exploit, specifically using a bug to earn a bugged badge, then this post will probably disappear. If it's still here tomorrow, then I guess this is a perfectly valid way to earn the badge. So you might want to wait till then if you're trying to avoid using exploits.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.
I've moved on to Diablo 3, TopDoc-1304
Got all the badges of the last few days. I can confirm, as others have, that no fighting is required. Simply have everybody quit upon loading into the arena map, except one person. That one person must wait in the for the counter to go to zero, and then wait a few more seconds for the badge confirmation message. Then he exits.
To the specific badges:
1. All the weight badges can be duo'ed.
2. Arena Victor - can be duo'ed, and will be obtained with the first weight badge.
3. Arena Duelist - can only be duo'ed, as indicated by the name.
4. Tournement Victor - needs 8 people for a swiss draw match. This is the hardest to get strictly as a function of the number of people involved. However, like the weight badges, everybody but one person quits the match upon loading into the first map. The one person then will exit and re-load into matches two and three, obtaining the badge. Rinse and repeat as needed.
4. Arena Survivalist - needs minimum three people for a Battle Royale match.
5. Pentad Victor - while obtaining this badge, I obtained it while with only two other people. Me, a peacebringer, and the other two both blasters. This is the key, since two of the same AT will be needed. The second similar AT will be automatically slotted into the second team. With me and one blaster on one team, and the other blaster on the second team, I was actually able to start the match. A full team of 10/14 is NOT required here. I was pleasantly surprised, and suspect this is not working as intended.
Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.

So once the arena is debugged and the badges fixed.....who thinks their arena badges will be stripped thus necesitating reobtaining them?

That won't happen. They will only remove badges from players if they are removing them from the game.

I'm still not quite understanding the knack of how to win and move up in the Swiss Draw matches. I always won the matches I was fighting against last night but I *never* got pulled into a 2nd round?
How does it work, do you win your round - go back to Arena click on the kiosk thing and get pulled into round 2?
Some help please someone as I have all the other Arena related badges.

There have been several methods already posted for ensuring that you win the match. What worked for us though was to select who was going to win the swiss draw and have everyone except that person exit their match as soon as the "fight" signal was given. That person would then wait until the pop up appeared declaring victory and then exit.
At this point all of the people who "won" their matches (by being too slow to click exit plus the predetermined winner) should receive a warning that the next match will start in two minutes in one of the channels (don't remember which one). After said two minutes round 2 will commence. Then the two winners of round 2 will get the same 2 minute warning and proceed to round 3 where the winner will be declared.

I have also observed that if you should be one of the winners to advance, that if you are a slow zoner you may miss the 2 minute countdown and be left out.

That's the basic structure, yeah. A Swiss Draw has 8 players in four "duel" setups. The winner of each round moves on to round 2 after going to the kiosk area for two minutes. Then it repeats: The winners of those two duels move on to round three after a 2 minute reprieve at the kiosks.
If you're not sure you're still in the running after a round, click on a kiosk. If you are, it'll give you the swiss draw stats. If not, you'll get the regular arena menu, with the ability to check out the swiss draw stats in the lower right.
The Freedom badge crews farmed this up last week pretty easily (except for my team, which had a number of bugs hit us to delay our progress noticeably, but still able to get it done). Before the swiss draw starts, declare who should "win", and everyone else quit out during the timer (to be safe, I did it around the 10 second mark), EXCEPT the designated winner, who'd wait for confirmation of winning before exiting. The method worked quite well.

Yeah, the process can be quite delicate. My crew saw the same thing. We had one set where the "declared winner" was the only person playing in rounds 2 and 3 because of the network lag consideration.

Also make sure that you get the badge earned notice pop up before you exit the final mission/round.
There is a small delay between the end of the final round and awarding of the badges and clicking out/exiting too soon can ruin all your work!

I'm gonna try to organize a few people to do this tonight on Freedom, starting around 10 PM EDT, 7 PM PDT. Send a /tell @TopDoc if you're interested, or just show up in Pocket D at the right time. I've done all of the other Arena badges, but I'll hang out and organize or pass out advice on those as well if there's any interest. Hope to see a few people there.
If you're interested in this badge but you're not on Freedom, we can probably work something out. Make up a level 1 char and help me out on Freedom, and I'll make up a level 1 char and help you out on your server.
I'm not on either of the 2 big Freedom Badge channels because they're at max capacity. So I'll probably contact a known badger or two to advertise there when the time comes.
