Alrighty, finally patched and got in, and I can verify the Dominator patch notes are wrong. The changes from 6/16 are indeed on live.

hey, i just noticed that your kidnap victims (or w/e heroes do with them) now have a little mini-arrow on the map to show where they are. Thats neat.

VEAT costume change emote: Mecha-cocoon, arm buttons pressed (robot summoning animation would work) spirals up and closed then open and down with the new costume.

An alternative would be a web cocoon, arm buttons pressed (robot summoning animation again), webbing explodes out and around the toon, then falls to the group with new costume

Just a thought

Off the subject, I found a pretty funny bug already. I just was fooling around making a new character while waiting for the servers to "truely come live" and of course after creating it it bumped me back out to the login screen, but the bug is that when I logged back in to the character screen I saw my created character and it says that it has been logged off for 3467 days. Ummmmm this game is not 9 almost 10 years old. That would make my toon logged off for 9 years and 9 months. WOW! I have the oldest toon on this game! It was created 4 years before the game came out. BEAT THAT!!!! LOL

That should cut down a small amount on the AE farm spam, by making it more inconvenient for them, since they will now have to quit and reform in order to add more people to the farm.

Don't give up just yet. There was a small patch over the weekend, and we don't know what was in it. I'd guess, though, that text changes in the TF could easily have been what was in there, since it was so small, and since text changes are so unlikely to cause major problems that the Devs could go ahead with a Monday live launch.

I guess at this point I'd rather give up and be pleasantly surprised later, than hold out hope and be disappointed again.

And it's not just text, the final fight is still a slog, the Energy Sources are still above ground, and I really think the Boomtown mission was intended to have a cut scene. The hero version deserves a cut scene as much as the villain version does. It's weird that so much attention was given to the villain version, and so little to the hero one. Maybe it was Fearghas' write-up of how he thought the story should go. I wish I'd had time to sit down and come up with one of my own for the hero side instead of just pointing out errors.

It's just so anti-climactic following the build up of the 5th's return story from Issue 11 and 12, and 5 years of wanting to see the Reichsman. The story just feels like a slapped together afterthought.

Despite only having one new arc ready to roll I went to buy the 5-slot package...only to have it say on the final confirm screen that I was being billed $20 for one slot.

I wasn't sure that was just a text error so I backed out.

Heh, you know... with 15 issues and 5 years under the brdiges, you'd think people would realize the pattern of new issue releases.

a) The servers are locked until the issue posts... not when players *think* the issue is posted... this will result in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs 4 not lettin us in!!!"

b) The servers will open, and be glutted with players trying out the "new stuff." This will result in slow logins and loads and will result in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs 4 makin us waitz!"

c) The issue will cause some slowdown in performance the first few days as it settles, cause lag and the occasional map-serve. This will result in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs 4 brakin da serverz!"

d) Everything will settle down and the issue will be explored, resulting in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs 4 brakin {fill in the random play function/build/power}"

e) All the final cries will die down as the issue becomes a week old. This will result in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs were is issue {issue number +1}"

Here's hoping for a free respec. Doms got quite a overhaul and people might want to respec in/out some powers.

There will definitely be a free respec with this issue. That's why they made the announcement on Friday to use any previous free respecs you may have had.

Whether the freespec is given today or at some point within the next week or so remains to be seen.

In the patch notes, under "AE badges that will remain", the badge "Virtual Victor" is listed twice: once near the top of that list, and again at the bottom of the list.

I might be able to put something together. I only did the two for Kheldians because someone suggested it, and there was already animation/VFX there for shape-changing. VEATs don't have any sort of shape-changing powers to pull directly from.

Anyone else notice that the doors and footstep sounds in the AE building are different now?

edit: its not just AE building. But it seems footsteps and other sounds in general have been improved.

I noticed that most, if not all door sounds are different. Not sure why that happened. Did anyone complain about the sound of the doors?

They just redid some sounds. water splashing has a different sound now as well.

For the Sigil, you have to unlock it with Vanguard Merits at a Vanguard workstation in the RWZ.

No news on the Booster.

Bunch of new sounds that didn't get to the Patch Notes.



And since the Patch Notes weren't vetted by the Testers before they were released (as they had been in the past), expect several mistakes and omissions like the ones above.

If it's a chirp sound, that's a Fortune Buff being reapplied, like the way the Hasten sound fx gets reapplied upon zoning.
