Most/Least Popular Trainer?

I got to thinking the other day, I wonder who is the most popular trainer, redside and blue? And who's the least popular on both sides? Since I don't play redside all that much, I'd have to say that Ms. Liberty or Castle have to be the most popular, considering where they are stationed. The least used would have to be Proximo or Ravenstorm, right? And as an aside, who is your favorite trainer?

I use whatever trainer of whichever zone I'm in. But for special occasions, 25, 40, 50, and my birthday, I like to use War Witch.

How about the rest of you? Got a fav?

My first 50 trained for level 50 with Ravenstorm just because he looked so lonely standing out on that rock, nobody ever trains with him.

My favorite was Infernal back when he was called InfernalLeader. Now it's whoever's most convenient.

Who is Proximo? The guy in Cimerora? He'd probably see a lot of use, since so many people get levels on the ITF.

My first level 50 levelled at Back Alley Brawler exclusively. Since then I usually go to whoever is closest.

But Ravenstorm is likely the least used given his location, although I just used him last night to train.

I trained to 50 at Proximo. I mean c'mon, he's named after a freakin' Gladiator character.

Swan in Brickstown. Look at her...I'm a guy after all.

Red side it's Arbiter...Really who cares. I hate having to train using an Arachnos person, but then I'd hate having to train under any other villain. Shame they couldn't have put some other means to level that wouldn't require you to yet again humble yourself.

I hadn't realized until now that I totally agree with this. It's almost anti-climactic to train villain side.

Hero side, big props to m' gal Mirror Spirit. When she went missing for so long it was an especially trying time.

You mean Jurassik's younger brother, Triassik? I've used him before.

It's actually the same arbiter, following you around to keep an eye on you and send reports back. He just TELLS you he's got a different name.

I wonder why they didn't do villain trainers the way they did the hero ones? Recluse can't spare Mako or Ghost Widow?

Probably because they can't be both a trainer and a mission contact... and they had plans for them with the Patron Arcs. That would be my guess.

Ah, okay. Still, you'd think they'd want some minor signature trainers, instead of the generic arbiters.

Posted

It might also be that they didn't want to have a huge amount of signature character that exist purely to stand around and train people (that's not particularly villainous). More than half of the heroes that survived the Rikti War have the primary purpose of standing around doing nothing. I think they wanted to avoid that. Personally, I wouldn't have been adverse to heroes leveling up at similar individuals in which they are simply registering their new powers rather than being taught how to use them by someone who should in no way have any knowledge of my heroes actual powers. Ms. Liberty should have about as much expertise telling my Fire/Therm troller how to use her powers as an English Literature professor has telling me how to build a computer database.

Well, if we had to go with "favorites", I'd have to say the trainer in Boomtown.

My toons keep asking her out to dinner, but they keep getting turned down...

That's one thing that always grinds my gears on redside - the stupid identical Arbiters as trainers. At least make them different colors. Make the villain trainers the Arachnos Rangers or the Arachnos Lanterns or something.

Never given it much thought. I've always just gone to whoever was the closest. Doesn't even register to me that these people are supposed to be 'training' my character in their powers, as my own little role-playing completely ignores that they might be even remotely involved in that process.

Most used ? Likely Luninary for me. Right by the Talos tram, and Talos is the 'hub' i use for most of the game.

Most used? Whoever just happens to be closest. Until I hit 50, I don't usually make any specific effort to go and hunt down anyone in particular, and never have.

Not *exactly* the same thing - after all, we have the Patrons inside their own missions as well. What's being said is that a single contact can't *apparently* give both missions and all the trainer "duties" at the same time.

I don't necessarily buy it - after all, I've had contacts become part of mission chains ("Talk to so-and-so") where the temporary need (mission item) had greater priority than the general need (contact) - click once, you get their misison speech, dismiss it and you get the "I have a misison for you" and store items. I don't know if it'd work the other way around.

Thematically, though... having the "impartial" arbiters being the ones training you makes more sense with all the rest of the infighting and such in the Isles.

I would have said Back Alley Brawler is the least popular, just because it seems like low level people mainly just go to Atlas by default.

It looks like it gets pretty lonely around War Witch in Croatoa or Ravenstorm in Striga.
