Who is your favorite?
I like BaB for the heroes and Black Scorpion for the baddies.
Just cause they look cool, I don't pay much attention to 'the story'.

Numina. I want that tunic costume piece of hers, dammit!
Also, I find Silver Mantis' exagerated masochistic fetish more creepy than anything else. I often joke that every time I fight her I leave feeling as if I should be paying her by the hour.

ROFL! Now that's a sig-worthy quote.
ok... hero - Aurora Borealis. I like her look, her powers, and her self-sacrificing story.
I don't like any of Recluse's bunch so I'm going to go with the Clockwork King too. He was the only villain I've fought that I felt sorry for in a small way. Plus... you can't go wrong with a brain in a jar for a villain
Heroes: I've really liked The Dark Watcher for a while, partly because he's mysterious. He's been to all these other places and done so many things, but there's still a big question mark about him. I think it's really interesting that we don't know everything. Honorable mention goes to Positron and Synapse. Even though I play almost exclusively Hero-side, though, most of the signature heroes really annoy me.
Villains:
Arbiter Sands is my favorite by a long shot. He's got such great personality and a very cutting wit that's really a lot of fun. He's more intelligent by far than most of his superiors, and I can't help but wonder what on earth he's doing there, when he could probably be doing well for himself as his own master. I love fighting him, because he's got some of the better villain dialogue in the game. Honorable mention goes to Scirocco and Nemesis.

Champion: Feride Edain, Level 50 Vigilante Blaster; Quicksilver Cure, Level 33 Controller; Silent Gemini, Level 44 Tanker; Aisa Moirai, Level 19 Villain Dominator
Virtue: Aurora's Blaze, Level 50 Peacebringer; Atrytone, Level 50 Tanker
Arbiter Sands. Some elements of class, and wit, and genre-savvy to boot.
Worth mentioning.

Villains: Ghost Widow. I love the look of the character, and her guest appearance in Seer Marino's arc left me feeling a bit star struck.
What can I say... I was only level 17 or so at the time
Also, although I have many favourite powers, Soul Storm is the best of the best - the pose you go into after casting it is the very definition of cool.
Heroes: Fusionette! No, really. She's incredibly annoying as an ally of course, but you know she means well.

I've been doing the RWZ material on a pair of villains lately, and nearly added her as a favorite. I like how they remember to include the "little heroes" once in a while, as a reminder that not every NPC is an incarnate who can squash you like a bug.
Unless you're an IO'ed out brute who can solo Rommy for giggles.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life. Winston Churchill
Doc Delilah and Ghost Widow.
*sighs* I'm going to get shot for this.
Heroes: Positron and Synapse. But especially Positron. So much so that I wrote a damn book about him. (And Synapse too.)
Villains: Tough call, but I'd actually go with Recluse. He really seemed to be teetering on the edge of good guy/bad guy until he drank from the Fountain, and then it all just went wrong.

None. They are all unoriginal and I rather pick the ones they are copied from.
I don't really like any of the heroes, especially the Freedom Phalanx. Bunch of Mary Sues in general.
Scirroco is my favorite of the signature villains and mostly because not only is the the well-intentioned extremist type but he also is the only one who acts civilized. The rest all are brutish and/or petty, while Scirroco shows that being a jerkass is not a requirement for being a villain.
Ms. Liberty because she puts up with all that stuff in Atlas Park without killing anyone. That makes her a true hero.

I have a series of favorites. I don't know if I can say that I have a very favorite hero or villain, but here are some of my favorites:
1. Synapse. I didn't think that I would be able to write him well in my Mynx story, but once I got started I found that I really loved the guy. He's got a lot of heart, and I really love his relationships with Positron and Mynx.
2. Clockwork King. Maybe I didn't write a full novel about him (looks at Michelle) but I wrote at least two long novellas about him. He's one of two villains that I badly want to see redeemed in the game-- and there's something tragically human about this poor lonely, mad soul who's nothing more than a brain in a bottle with no hope of love or a normal life ...

You've got two novellas, I've got one novel. I'm sure if we did a word count, we'd be about the same (TCoSR is ~85000 words).
Hmmmm... I'm thinking a specialized sort of NaNoWriMo come November... not just writing a 50k+ word novel, but writing a COH novel! Pick a character and go...

Favorite Hero: Hmm, never actually gave it any thought since I'm to busy focused on my own Alts. I'd say maybe Ms Liberty maybe, but even that is a struggle. She's the only one i find sort of compelling without being to complicated.
Favorite Villain: Maybe it's because i tend to like villains more that this is easier but i actually think their backgrounds are superior. Ghost Widow for a variety of reasons. Powers, backstory and appearance really work well. After her I'd say Arbiter Sands. I find his non chalance amusing.
Glad to see a lot of Mako Love in here. Now, if you'd like to come to Virtue and join his Official Fan Club, the line starts to my left...

Mako's the least terribly written of the patrons. That passes for 'like.'
Heroside, they tend to just come across as highly self-satisfied douches with indistinct character voices and generic flavours of badass, so it's hard to say if I could really like any of them.
Seer Marino. And because of her arc, Wretch and Ghost Widow too.
I thought this was a really good story, and despite the Mu being brutal at those levels with their -end -recovery, I do this arc on every villain when they go through those levels.
Favorite heroes would have to be ol' Jimmy Temblor and that ding-bat he went to the prom with. They're just kids trying to be super heroes, and they have an innocent quality that I can't help but root for. I also thought it was great the way you meet them again later on in the RWZ. Kinda like their stories are progressing along with yours instead of just being stuck in Faultline.
As far as villains, I'm gonna go ahead and say Vanessa DeVore, because she's a good girl gone bad. Just like the Van Halen song.
Larry: Owen, what the hell did you do to my wife?
Owen: Well I don't want to say on the phone - all I can tell you is that I killed her last night.

Hero: Valkyrie because I like Norse Mythology.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's unfortunate she doesn't have anything to do with Norse mythology. She's a Tech Origin hero, filled with nanites. Even her name is an evolution of "Valerie Kellum".
Valerie Kellum was an up-and-coming archeologist exploring Scandinavia when she discovered what she first took for an ancient spear. A more careful examination led to the realization that the spear had a technological component. She traveled around Europe looking for ideas about its origin and ended up in a local Crey facility. When a Crey security team tried to take the weapon from her it activated and injected Valerie with advanced nanites that transformed her into Valkyrie, an extraordinary warrior with a completely different personality. She broke free and traveled to Paragon City where Positron is helping her come to terms with her new identity.
You'd think when a person is infected by lobotomising nanotechnology that other heroes might, you know, help her out?
Scirocco is in some ways my favorite Villain, mainly because he's so very human. He's not just evil for the heck of it; he actually believes good has a value, and strives for it sometimes.
Admittedly how he does it is out of whack with reality, but he's still trying to be more than just evil. Also, I like how he looks.
Another favorite is the Clockwork King, for the reasons people have already stated.
Don't really have a favorite hero. Don't do enough Blueside to notice 'em.
