If you wanted to "announce an idea," it might have behooved you to start with, "What would everyone think if we saw this on the forums tomorrow?" rather than posting it with a title designed to draw attention and make people angry before they had a chance to know that it WAS an idea.

What is the difference to you of trolling in comparison to making a suggestion.

There have been attacks on how the idea was presented but barely any discussion on the merits of the suggestion itself.

Is this idea in and of itself considered trolling to you? You cannot see ANY merits to what is being suggested?

Not I, no. It's just yet another rant about farming in a very thin disguise.

As many vetran posters have observed before: presentation is everything. While your 'suggestion' is thinly veiled as a 'farmers suck!' post, you could have presented your idea in the Suggestions area if you really wanted it to be "a suggestion". You know perfectly well why you posted it HERE instead, and we can see through any hint otherwise.

Also, you get what you give. A presumptive, bait and switch style post will definitely garner a negative response. If only you'd done the right thing and separated your opinion about farming and your 'idea', posted it in the form OF an idea instead of a "news report", and put it in the right forum.

It was nicely written. That's why you're getting others angry at your idea, since normally such 'thoughts' are coupled with leetspeak and atrocious spelling and grammar. An elite troll, but a troll none the less.

Trolling - def.: Trolling is trying to get a rise out of someone. Forcing them to respond to you, either through wise-crackery, posting incorrect information, asking blatantly stupid questions, or other foolishness.

Suggesting - def.: To offer for consideration or action; propose.

This is an idea/suggestion? Oh, I am terribly sorry. I thought this was an announcement. At least it was presented as such. You know, you should really post suggestions and ideas in the suggestions and ideas section of this forum to avoid confusion like this.

Oh, and I imagine that your "idea" would come across better if you presented it as your idea as well, not in the manner of 'announcing' falsified upcoming changes to the game.

Careful guys... he's a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. From the looks of this thread, he's building his case.

It's amazing though, that someone in such an esteemed position within the legal system, that he would blatantly misrepresent his case by trying to make others think that his message was one made by the development team.

You are not the first to throw out the "this should be in the 'Suggestion' forums." Yet when I look at all the questions posted in this forum and the same people who told me where to post but have not told others that their posts should be in the "Question" forums, that kind of weakens their overall credibility on the issue.
