You can buy common salvage with tickets on live, right now. All that changed on test is that they added the menu option in a place where more people will actually notice it.

For the second time recently, I'll point out that this is an MMO. If it was an FPS I might agree with you. If you lack patience in an MMO, you might consider trying a different type of game.

I hate to feed a troll, but I'd like a little bit of clarification on this. A lot of people have been doing what? Leaving the MMO genre in general, or CoX in particular?

They buy the entire market of lets say Spell Scrolls ( A common low level salvage ) for 5000 then put all of it back up for 100,000. Now all low level players cannot make any Endurance related IO unless they find there own salvage.

I find it highly amusing that I tried being the voice of reason for a week and even tried getting this thread back on track several times and none of the market-haters said anything...but the one time I take a swipe at stupid people doing stupid [censored], Another_fan is there to flame me. JUST IN CASE we weren't sure if he was a troll or just a bad mix of passionate and condescending...

For the market forum, I think it is good enough to have a sticky telling people how to use the market, and how to earn money through it. I already see several good informative guides teaching people to earn money using something like half an hour a day. I think this would be the most constructive way to bust the myths.

There are a lot of myths or misconceptions about the market. As in real world, people believe that there are invisible hands manipulating the market at the expense of innocent poor heroes. Some myths exist because of a reason. In my opinion, a polite reply to the people who complain the market and refer them to one of the guides is nearly the best you can do without insulting them.

You're right, I apologize, it wasn't you who directly replied to my post.

You did, however reply to a reply to my post and called me a curmudgeon, which hurt my feelings. I'm not THAT old yet. Call me an [censored] if you must, please.

Also you flamed other people...though I tend to agree with the fact that a lot of people you flame are rude to you first and usually deserve it, you do tend to invite the rudeness with your constantly condescending attitude and frequent claims to moral high-ground as if the condescension is all in our heads. There's a reason people around here don't like you and it's not your opinion, it's your delivery.

The catch is, the market haters don't understand a very important thing: Suggestions and Ideas is in another forum.

The markets are what they are and all the wishful thinking and complaining in the world isn't going to change how they work.

They are not a store. If you treat them like a store you will pay more.

IOs are supposed to be a time sink. Just like base building. People make suggestions asking for canned bases like the pre-defined costume sets down in S&I. People make suggestions about the markets down in S&I sometimes.

But complaining about real and imagined wrongs in the market doesn't do any good. People who are flipping aren't going to stop because someone complains here. People who are griefing by messing around with stuff in the market aren't going to stop because someone complains here.

Example:
I crafted 50 lowbie endrec IOs for the SG bins this weekend. Then I had to use another 50 for endmods. Acting alone, I put a significant hit on the availability of low priced ones for a few hours. It being a weekend though, it recovered fairly fast.

Thankfully, that will be the last big hit ont he market from me for a while. Adjusting the inventories of 2 supergroups simultaenously, is not somthing we did lightly, and wont be doing again in a hurry.

Old inventory was 10 each of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40, new is 30 each of 15, 25 and 35 beacsue thats what people tended to use. Makes managing the inventory much much easier.

On the flipside to this...

I logged in to see a glut of [shush sekrit common IO] for sale going for 1/10th their normal prices and 1/100th of their height during the meow craze.

Some possibilities:
1. A badger was at work
2. Someone felt like tossing them out cheap to the general population
3. Someone was trying to drive out other sellers

If I were to assume any of these it would be 1 but to be sure in order for someone to have done this they either already had them crafted or they had stored a lot of the salvage or they had just bought up all the salvage.

Coincidentally all the salvage bits were way up for it.
