Issue 15 on the Training Room today
[ QUOTE ]
That doesn't tell us anything about what we can expect in future issues, which is something this creative team has done several times over the last year or so.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not that far in advance - they try not to do more than the next issue, with MAYBE hints for the next. i15 IS the next issue, and hints are we will have dual pistols and demon summoning in i16.

... Wow, I thought there was more to this issue than the general outline. Aside from any PvP/MA/badge changes, it really seems to be just the TF... and honestly, Yet Another piece of new 45-50 content doesn't compel me to level new characters.
I'm sure the TF and SF are both very neat and enjoyable, but one TF and one SF do not an Issue make.
Doom.
Yep.
This is really doom.

Reported Barracuda in GV as the villain SF contact. Checking on that...
[/ QUOTE ]
Barracuda is in the SE corner of the platform below the statue of Recluse, in the same area as the Arbiter.

Goot Gott, das isst ein horrible tjob of translation.
Fortunately, my Greek half is far more easy-going.

Im thinking this is a bad sign for I15. Having this much trouble getting the "beta" started points to some unexpected issues. A reasonable person could reasonably conclude that I15 is going to be a bit problematic.
Of course i hope that is not the case because I am really looking forward to new content. Even if it is only a couple of costume pieces and some TF/SF action.

Any reasonable person coming to such a conclusion would not be
... reasonable, that is.

Which is amusing, because prior to Issue 12, I was voicing all kinds of happiness...
What would've pleased me is a new zone and some contacts to go along with this TF and SF. But no. It's just the TF/SF. And frankly, if an hour and a half's worth of content is all they can produce after months of development, then you can't possibly be upset with me for voicing my unhappiness.
Sure as you're an elitist hack who looks down on negative sentiment, these two TFs will get old very quickly. Precedent: LGTF, ITF, etc.
Doom.

We just defeated Reichsman.

Other than the costumes/faces, which he ignores/forgets, he's right, though. This is by far the most minimalist issue ever.
I kept thinking there would be more, unannounced stuff than what we'd been told to this point.
Guess not.
Aw, there there. This came on the heels of Issue 14, was supposed to be released earlier (but delayed thanks to MA changes), and precedes Issue 16 (which will probably be the expansion). Frankly I'm surprised people were expecting more for something that is crammed in between two big releases.
[ QUOTE ]
And I never suggested that we didn't have to pay for the last expansion. Again, Reading Comprehension 101 comes in handy. What I said was that we haven't been told anything that is coming down the pike except for the expansion (which, of course, we have to pay for just as we did the last one). That doesn't tell us anything about what we can expect in future issues, which is something this creative team has done several times over the last year or so.

Positron stated in an interview he was working internally on Issue 18.
He also hinted at demonic summoning and dual pistol power sets coming in the future (happens to be the sets of the two characters featured in the CoHGR vid: a dual pistol blaster and a demon summoning master mind)
There was also a strange note about: "all I can say is that power customization was something we were not able to do while we were under cryptic, that's all I can say right now" (but I think if this comes it will be exclusive to people that buy the expansion.)
The Issue 18 being on the works is enough hint to know they are working on much more stuff to come, though.

This is a part of the point, though. Why cram it in? Just so they could say it happened on the 5th Anniversary?
I'm sure there are reasons we're not aware of--whether good or bad would likely be based on your own perspective--but rather than release an issue that is so small (relative to past issues), why not put the MA changes into a patch (some of them are fixes anyway), and hold the other stuff a little later in the year? It would potentially allow time for other things to be included in it and for it to be released as a regular-sized issue, and would still allow for down time before the release of the expansion and/or i16.
For all that there are a lot of people who want new content and were not thrilled with the MA for whatever reason, a small delay for a larger payoff would have been better IMHO than "cramming" something in and calling it an issue.
I'm looking forward to the TF/SF. Some of the MA changes may be very nice. But it's not enough to warrant being called an "issue" by the standards they have previously set. I hope it's a case of technical delays and scheduling issues rather than a harbinger of things to come. I've been very pleased overall with the work the design staff has done since Statesman's departure, so this series of events was unexpected, to say the least.
Here's hoping things pick up again soon...

All the Dev shills on these boards would hail it as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
On the contrary. It's definitely a small Issue. But after I14, and all the changes needed in its wake, and in addition to the man hours supposedly being spent on the new expansion and beyond, I'm unsurprised. I'll just be thankful for what I get, instead of playing Oliver Twist.
[ QUOTE ]
So from these posts, it seems that unless you come in and post with nothing but sunshine posts and yay everythng the devs says is uber wonderful, you shouldn't bother to state an opinion. Sorry, that's not the way open forums work. They are meant for discussion, whether you agree or not.
I really didn't want the post to sound negative. But there have been a lot of negative things in a sequence over the last few months, and stating that perception is simply telling the truth as I and some others see it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Complaining about them being off by two hours on their eta is rediculous. There is a ton of stuff that they have to do to get things right for releases - for all we know they had ram go bad And I'd rather they fix it than waste time telling us why it taking longer, thus making it take longer still!~
