this game should lower its monthly fee to $9.99 instead of 14.99 imo. its getting old. its 5yrs old now. any game this old should not be going for 14.99/month still. if the rate wasn't so high i would keep my subscription going for a longer time. since its so high i will only subscribe for one more month before quiting.

Stuff plz.

Doing so would cost them about $500,000 a month. You think they should just suffer without that money, cut back on staff and content generation, just so that you can save your five bucks a month?

Wait... so the extra $5 months a month is a bridge too far?

Really?

So, if they don't lower the subscription rate, will you [u]promise[u] to leave? I could get behind that.

Another thing I don't get. The OP is a new player - why join already knowing that the game is five years old if you knew what the subscription rate was already going to be?

Does the extra $5 lessen the OP's interest in the game?

I'm just dumbfounded why a new player with so much interest in the game is suddenly making demands of a cost that he/ she knew were part of the deal

OP, can you help me understand your sudden dissatisfaction after a scant 3 days on the forums?

I just can't get behind the OP's logic.

"I'm quitting because the game's monthly fee is expense."
"It's $15. Why should they lower it?"
"Because! It's been out FIVE YEARS!"
"...?"

It's a non sequitor.

no.

And, technically and more realistically they should raise the price due to inflation...be happy they haven't.

I lost my job in feb and still think 14.99 is a good price to pay for this game. Its a cheap addiction And for what we get its a very good deal.

If I were to switch to reading books, going to movies, or playing other video games, it would cost me so much more than $15 per month.

I think you should all cut the OP some slack. This game is old, and not only that, look how many people have already played it!

Do what I do. Pay in annual installments. That works out to $12/mo. It's not $10, but it's close, and once it's paid, I can forget about it for a year.

It would still end up costing me more, but mostly because there's a Taco Bell in between me and the library. Mmm...chalupas.

Maybe Taco Bell should lower their prices...because, you know....they have been around forever. They have been around so long, they should be giving food away for free!!

The rate isn't "so high." Pay in larger blocks, and you pay less per month.

Taco Bell should pay me to take away their "food." Notice I didn't say eat. And it has nothing to do with how old they are. >.>

They have been around so long they should be paying US to eat.

OP: nope. Just, nope. Most games are around 15 bucks, and that's pretty standard fare for a lot of single-use entertainment.

Movie? Movie + food?! for one person, often more than 20 bucks FOR ONE MOVIE.

DVD? If you're looking an old crappy movie, you might find one in the five dollar bin, but if you're looking for a new, fresh one it's AT LEAST 15$.

CDs? Well, unless you download them illegally, generally speaking a nice shiny cd is going to cost you at least 15$ if not more.

Books? Feh, I have books that say 45c. They're *older than me*. The same book today? At LEAST 7$.

Hell you want a small stack of new comics? That'll be 30$. They're averaging 2.95-5.00 a piece now, so 10 books will set you BACK.

2 trips to Starbucks for a drink and a muffin? Fifteen bucks.

Cigarettes? Depending on where you live, 5$ a pack.

Of all the habits in the world, this game is hardly expensive. It's definitely the best 15 bucks I spend.

That reminds me. I have a stuffed dog I'm still keeping for sentimental reasons. It used to belong to my brother, and it's older than me and STILL holding strong. Well, relatively. We've had to sew it up a few times. I don't remember how much it cost, but it must have cost a pretty penny to survive 25-30 years now. And it's not exactly sitting on a shelf untouched, either.

If the lowered the price, they would need to generate 50% more players to compensate, either by bringing players back, maintaining players intending to quit (like the OP claims), or adding new subs.

I doubt anything but a direct price war with Champions (or other direct compete Hero based MMO) could arguably generate the necessary player liquidity to validate the move as fiscally responsible. Generally speaking, just like taxes, people are willing to pay what is being asked, significantly resist even slight increases, and if decreased, do not tolerate increases, even back to the old levels. Better to leave things as is.

Really? I guess Fry's is overcharging then. Or, maybe, I'm just not looking at the right disks? Dunno, but I can't afford them in either case, unless I'm on a splurge for music. (... or maybe, much of the techno I buy is *imported*... feh)
