5 Year badge means -- logging in all my characters

Who else finds the 'better get the badge' logon-race a little, er, tedious?

Over 140 characters for me, every single one has been active in the last six months (with the exception of a few "nameholders" waiting to be rerolled when the powersets that better fit their concept get proliferated). I tried to keep up during the Winter and Halloween events, and realized that I just couldn't.
So, I've stopped trying. If there is someone for whom the badge fits, I'll make a point to log them in. If it doesn't, and I wind up logging them in anyway, cool beans.
New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)

Oh, honey, go away with that broken record!!!
That said, even I'm reeling from the idea of trying to log in 85 toons. I have about 20 (I recently deleted 9) and I only keep anniversary badges current for 2 of 'em (my hero/villain mains).

Holidays/events => 251 characters across the 3 accounts
Today's 5-year on one of those accounts will mean 148 of those 251, eventually. There really isn't a time constraint for the veteran reward badges because the characters can wait until I get to them.
So when we have a race, like the Anniversary badge this month, it is very tedious. But on the other hand, it is our choice to make all of these characters and pursue those badges on them.
total kick to the gut

LOL @ Dug
I don't necessarily find that it's "tedious" as a badge hunter... just unnecessary. I think that the anniversary badges should be made global.
One of my favorite characters was made June 1st, 2005 -- the day after the 1st anniversary badge stopped dropping. I'm not trying to get a ton of badges on him the same way I do on my main characters, but it'd be nice if he had the badge as well.
Anyway, when we have an event badge given out just for logging in, I'll log every character on my home server on and ignore the others (unless I'll be playing them in the course of normal gaming anyway, of course).
Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges

THREE ACCOUNTS?!!! *facepalms*
If you didn't log into your character on Pinnacle for 435 days, then that toon didn't get the last Anniversary badge either. So, why bother getting him the new one? Do you care more about it this year than you did last?
I have about 100 active toons between two accounts and when I have an Log 'em All In event, I just set an evening aside. I usually drop a mish and move them to a new day job locale and put them back on the shelf.
Never argue with stupid people. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
@vanda1 and @nakoa2
I had only the weekend to log in all my expired-account characters... Most were padding for supergroups, but they all are properly named and have real backgrounds anyway. So yeah, 3 accounts in what 4 days, there, and the rest of my 110 toons on my active account over the next couple weeks. It's a ritual I go through whenever there is a timed badge that you don't have to do anything but show up for.

There is very little on television and even less at the movie theaters I want to watch so I need a lot of variety of characters to play by powersets, levels, ATs, etc.

I don't understand why anyone would do that to themselves. I only have one character that I try to get badges on. When I first started CoH I created one character of each AT, so I usually log those 5 in for the anniversary badges. That's it. If the devs paid me $15/month instead of the other way around, I still wouldn't try to get every badge on every character. I couldn't stand the tedium.

Well to kinda answer your question, I have had to re-roll my main a couple of times. Only because as new powers sets became available, i would switch that best fit the concpt of my toon.
For example, my main was always meant to be a psi blaster. So, after 4.5 years, we finally got it. He first was a mind controller. I didnt delete him however, just renamed him an. So i now have 2 toons whom i have to collect badges for.
Not as bad as other peeps here, but just as annoying. Some badges, not all, like MA should be global. Anniversary badges falls into this category.
Meh, that's why I pretty much only use my main hero for badge purposes nowadays. If I'm playing another character and I *have* to let people know how long I've been playing, they can just look at my veteran badges.
As I say in my sig, I hve 62 toons. I have lots of free time later at night, so it only took me two nights to handle all of them while moving day-job locations at the same time.
And I would have gotten to all of them eventually, since I log in every 21-22 days to change locations for each of them.
I do have a lot of pads from the 'great supergroup bonus' about 18 months ago. But those are easy to spot, as they are all named 'Paddingtoon###' - the ### being numbers.
Any log-on badge event, I usually do all the logging in within the first few days so that I don't forget at the end.
Global: @All-American Teen
70 toons across 11 servers.
Top hero -All-American Teen lvl 50 eng/invul Tanker (01:10 EST; 1/24/09)
Top villian -Poisoned Plum lvl 30 robots/devices Mastermind

This is the way to go, plus it would eliminate the main reason to have the logout out to character selection option mentioned in the other thread.
I don't get them for badging, I get them because I was here for the 5th anniversary.
I have a total of ONE toon with all 5 of the anniversary badges on him, and sadly he's a sucky spines scrapper. :/ He's level 8. with all 5 anniversary badges ... lol.

I have just under 85 active characters. By 'active' I mean I still play them. I have some placeholder characters, and some supergroup fill-up characters on servers I don't play on, and I have 55 'deleted' characters.
Logging them in takes a bit of time.
Since I've changed my screen definition about 2 months ago (I *love* my 32" HDTV on my desk!), it's funny seeing just how MANY characters I haven't logged on for 'a while'. 435days on Pinnacle not logged on is prolly the longest.
However, logging in and updating my spreadsheet, takes a lot of time, especially if I decide to go find an NPC whose name begins with the letter M to find out my /played time (number of hours played).
That led to some interesting results. A level 25 'AE' toon with 3 hours /played. A level 42 blaster with 33 hours played.
My first L50 "Archvillain Q" I played a -heap- at L50 doing Hamidon Raids (pre Issue 9) and he's got my most logged on at 750hours, even though I've hardly touched him since 2006.
The Role-Play L49 villain I created 'Relentless Revenger' is a snappy 129 hours for L49, which is quite fast for me (and none of that AE cheating or other PowerLevel either).
On Justice, I have 25 characters now, the richest has 119M, a couple more have over 100M, and my total worth there is just about 750M, which is peanuts compared to the 'real' power-gamers out there.
I've logged in all my characters on Freedom (17), Infinity (8). Chamption (6), Justice (25) and Liberty (6), with Victory and Virtue left for tomorrow (since 3 hours logging in characters and updating my spreadsheet, really detracts from actual play time).

170 or so. And plenty of time to get them all. given I tend to hop over and play mine, well... no, I don't find it an issue at all. (Even if I decide to get them right away, it's not too bad.)

Only 60ish here, but I also logged in all my husband's characters (just in case he ever decides to give up WoW and come back to the City).
I tend to do either what PuceNonagon does (log in, drop a mission & reset Day Job location) or what M_B does - sometimes that long-forgotten character is more fun than you remembered.
It's not really a chore - it's a chance to revisit old friends.

I only make sure the one toon I have with all the anniversary badges gets it, the rest will if I log them in this month.

Not really that fussed about the Anniversary badges for two reasons:
1) I have yet to roll a character that would use them as a Badge title
2) The character that matches my forum title is WP/SS. Clearly, HE doesn't have all of them, and if my namesake doesn't why should I care if the rest of them do or not?
The Abrams is one of the most effective war machines on the planet. - R. Lee Ermy.
Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?
A: You crash into another one.
But the real question is, do you move those characters to new Day Job locations while you're at it?
Yeah, I got 2 accounts and many servers are full. Well, Virtue, Freedom, and Victory at least, maybe Justice and Infinity too. I don't keep count, I don't keep spreadsheets, I do have characters who I have not logged in since sometime in May or June 2004, but I've spent a lot of time logging in the others recently. Even though I'm not THAT much of a badge fanatic, I think "this is my ONLY chance to get this badge, I might as well do it!".

i got the 5th anniversary badges on my alts the same time i rotated them for dayjob badges
