Feel like you're the last one to know about the goings-on in your favorite MMO? Want to be among the first to get information about beta announcements, contests/promotions, upcoming expansions and a whole lot more? It's easy - just make sure you're opted-in to get official emails from us and you'll never miss out on the latest and greatest.

Simply do the following:

1. Log into the NCsoft website.
2. Click on "Account Profile"
3. Click on "Update Contact Information" (towards the upper right hand corner)
4. Scroll down and make sure the email address field has your current, active address in it!
5. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and make sure the box under "Newsletter" is checked
6. Click Update

One final step to facilitate delivery to your inbox is adding newsletter@ncsoft.com to your address book. This should ensure that the newsletter doesn't end up in your spam folder.

You should now be opted-in to receive mailings from us. Enjoy!

I dont recall ever opting out and I certainly used to get these sorts of mailings, but when I went to the manage screen it appears the check box was not filled.

Explains why I haven't got the last few of these.

Yeah, same story here. Don't remember opting out (though I might have for some odd reason), but wasn't set to get 'em.

Fixed now, though.

The above bit is only relevant on a limited subset of mail readers under certain limited circumstances.

Many more sophisticated spam filters are based on the actual address (typically by domain) the email is coming from, not the forged "From:" field, as, well, it's trivial to forge.

Currently the email is coming from:
newsletter.newzyouwant.com
which is *actually*:
rs1.netatlantic.com

Putting "newzyouwant.com" and/or "netatlantic.com" as permitted / trusted domains may be required. I'd strongly recommend the original post / instructions add this info, or a lot of people will be missing the mail.

Dear ModOcho,

Not only was I signed up for the newsletter, but I'd also already added my the newsletter@ncsoft.com address into my Yahoo address book a while back. I've also added every other known NCSoft/CoH address...

Guess what?!?

I still only get roughly 1 out of every 5 emails from y'all. I didn't get the most recent one.

I've been beating my head against this for years, danced quite a few rounds with LH in the past and know, for a fact, that others are experiencing the same problems.

There is something wrong with your emailing systems, and has been, for years.

Find out what it is, and fix it.

Or, you know, ignore it... or blame it on the customer.

You decide what's the more intelligent business decision.

I'm with Cat and Scuzz. I never opted out, and I know for a fact that I used to receive these. The last one I received was on December 18, 2008, about the Apple Open Beta. I think at some point the database must have been reset to having everyone opt back in.

[/ QUOTE ]

Same for me. The only time I do get emails is the confirmation when codes have been applied.

Yup, same here. Haven't had an email update for so long, I really can't remember the last one I got. Double checked my account and sure enough, my email addy is there and correct and the box is checked.

I've been opted in ever since I joined, and I have yet to get a newsletter. Sure as [censored] didn't get the Going Rogue e-mail, but oh well. Guess I'm not on that special little list.

^^ This.
I have also had my "newsletter: yes" box checked, and haven't gotten anything since December or so. Everyone else was getting all these things, and neither my inactive nor active accounts have gotten anything.

I've gone back and reclicked it, hopefully that will help.

36 months I've been subscribed.

I receive emails whenever I reup or purchase a pack or something.

Never once have I received the newsletter. Yes the box is and has always been checked. No it's not being blocked or diverted into my spam or trash bin. Yes I've mentioned/complained about this before. No nothing has ever been done about it.

I was opted in and have been as long as I can remember, but I didn't get the "Rogue" e-mail.

Not sure what the problem is, but there is a problem.

I looked at my account. The box is still checked, it's always been checked. I never get NCSoft emails, not even in my bulk/spam folder which I check everyday just in case.

Personally I find it nice that this announcement has gone up lickety-split within a day of the problem being raised in the Going Rogue thread to be pretty darned responsive. Nice work TheOcho!

Is there a problem with the NCSoft mailing system? Are they trying to blame the customer? No. They would no doubt have checked their email systems and are just trying to make sure that the problem isn't at our end. Now I could have sworn they had the right email addy for me, and they did....on the forums, not on NCSoft Account Management. So, just because you 'know' your details are 'right' doesn't mean they actually aren't. Check anyways.

I have to agree with some of the others that posted here that there may be some issues with your newsletter delivery system.

I stopped getting any newsletters sometime in around December. I did check my NCsoft info and found it to be correct and the recieve newsletter box was checked. I re-initialized the info just to be on the safe side.

My email client is set to put all email it considers spam into a specific folder. It does not block or delete. Unless these emails are being blocked at the ISP level (for whatever reason), I should see the newsletter show up.

Other people in a weekly SG I am in have commented on similar issues with the newsletter. In fairness, a good number in the SG did recieve the most recent newsletter.

Yeah I was unable to recieve them, I went ahead and changed emails so I could see so far so good got the confirmation one.

Edit: I registered with the CoHGR site and I haven't recieved anything from them yet either, but I am guessing they haven't sent anything.

As others have said, I've been opted in and my email was correct the entire time, but I've stopped receiving newsletters as well.

Yes, I've verified that all of the information was correct and that I was subscribed to the newsletters. All of my email comes in, I've got my SPAM protection set to deliver anything it "thinks" is SPAM to a separate folder. Nothing in there either, and I check it every day or so. I've been checking it every day this week since I didn't get the Going Rogue email. Unless it's an ISP block, in which case NCSoft needs to make sure that the email addresses they are sending from aren't on Blacklists, especially for the large free email providers such as Yahoo, G-Mail, and (ugh) Hotmail.

I do know that the information on the site works since I've received emails from support in response to bug reports and petitions, I've received emails from individuals on the community team as well as phone calls and they explicitly stated that they got the information from my Account Profile.

Seems that the "not getting newsletters" syndrome happens on a fairly regular basis, and has for some time. And eventually, without changing OUR settings, we suddenly start getting them again.

Hopefully, someone will find where the problems are occuring and find out how to resolve it.

Put me with the "something wonky" crowd. I confirmed my address is correct, and that the checkbox is checked. I've got a filter in my email, so anything with "ncsoft.com" (or several other CoX related domains) in the From field goes straight to a specific CoX folder. And, while I got some newsletters, I apparently don't get all of them. (I got an Issue 14 announcement, and the Introducing Paragon Studios newsletter, but nothing for Going Rogue.)

In case it's significant, I use a Yahoo Mail account (though not a yahoo.com address).

Mine was a yahoo.com address switched to gmail today because I thought I was the only one. Seems as though as I am not.

I've received every newsletter. Maybe a day or two later than it should be, but I always get them. I have Hotmail, in case that matters.

I used to be signed up for newsletters, and I never opted out of them, but when I went to look at my contact info, it was unchecked, which would be why I haven't received any newsletters or promos, etc., in a very long time. I can't even remember the last one I received.
