Seeking Solo "Monster" Arcs

I have a Scrapper, who I mostly play solo, who is a "monster hunter". He doesn't care about fighting 'crime' or even really saving the innocent. He just wants to kill vampires. (Or werewolves, or mummies, or cthuloid squid men, or even mindless mutants, etc.) Basically, if a horror movie could be made about it in the 1930s, he will want to go after it.

I am looking for good arcs for him to solo. Please, don't be shy, sell your arc

One caveat: I'm not too interested in arcs that have you working for monsters against other monsters. I've seen a few, for example, that have some vampire calling you to go kill some other vampire clan. I only want to play these arcs if I can go back and kill the first vampire at the end Though the character may occasionally accept supernatural help if it gets the job done.

Note also that right now the character is only level 15, so if you have an arc designed for low levels, bonus points.

Well, if you want to stretch a little, I have an arc that could have been a horror movie in the 80s. 84105, Duality, has a slasher movie theme, and it's designed for levels 10 - 20.

If you're looking for more of a... um... "B" movie arc, my Drakule arcs in the sig are basically all about killing vampires. However, they're also quite challenging, so I don't think you could solo it at 15.

Maybe I should also point out that the character fits best in serious stories But I'll check all these out. Thanks guys! And keep 'em coming, forums!

I've got a horror arc based in Dark Astoria, it's called "Astoria in D Minor", #41565. It's deadly serious and extremely dark, though you might not like how it ends.

Astoria in D Minor, a horror arc. Arc ID: 41565 - The Beating Heart of Astoria: A Play in Five Acts. Arc ID: 170547 - Ignition of the Machine, a story with robots. Arc ID: 318983
Captain Skylark Shadowfancy and the Tomorrownauts of Today. Arc ID: 337333 - Signal:Noise, where is everybody? Arc ID: 341194
@The Cheshire Cat - Isn't it enough to know I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

I've heard about one arc that involves Blacula.

That may or may not be what you're looking for.

I forget the name but the arc is called "Haunted House Ride"

Mindless fun with ghosts, zombies, and monsters.

Hmm...I do have "Hunting the Dark Dragon" (2922), which may or may not qualify due to the monsters turning out to be not who you'd expect.

For a true-blue monster arc, I'd definetely recommend "Die Count Daddy Macula Die!" (10619).

Dugfromearth's Zombi filled arc "I Dance on Your Grave" is quite good, especially the trip to the spirit world. It would be hard to solo, but could be done by some. IIRC, the ID number is 41119.

The Arc in my Sig qualifies... think of a Lovecraft horror film and you'll get the idea.

The arc has also undergone a significant re-write with some new maps in response to feedback I've gotten. I'm not sure about the second map but there doesn't seem to be one with the spawn points I wanted.

Unfortunately I can't really finish the re-write.. at least not the way I want it for the last two missions since I'm at 99.78 percent.

Hooray! More monster arcs - many of these look perfect from what's described. Thanks everyone! (And keep them coming! )

Here is my arc which is an extension of the already-Lovecraftian Coralax. It doesn't play heavy on horror though, but if you want to fight some plant creatures, this might be a good time to do so.

Arc Name:Vanguard AQUA
Arc ID: 58475
Faction: neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Sermon
Difficulty Level: Fun for all levels (average difficulty)
Synopsis: Vanguard has opened their new aquatic division to deal with emerging threats from our watery depths. In this, their first large-scale mission, they need your help in warding off the maritime menace.
Estimated Time to Play: 4 missions

Notes to self:

Haunted House Ride is fun but way too tough for a low level character to solo.
Terrors of Old appears doable! Fun cultists.

Arc 1709 "The Amulet of J'gara" features some monsters as you reach the end. For levels 25-33.

I think mine might qualify as B-Monster Movie Material. It is called Behind the Painted Smile. Arc #11529, Sewer Creatures are on a rampage. If this doesn't fit your criteria I am sorry. BUt anyone else looking for something story based may enjoy it.

Enjoy your day please.

I have two arcs that may fit the theme (see sig). Unbearable Funk features zombies, mutants, and mad scientists and has a humorous theme.

While Tales of the Creatures... features Nazis, Martians, and giant monsters and has a 50s sci-fi B movie theme.

Does the thought of battling mutant lizard men appeal to you? If so, try mine:

Not mine, but some I've done and can recommend (sorry, don't remember arc #'s):

1) Vanguard AQUA, posted upthread. Neat and interestingly-varied custom Coralax; watch out for stacked Impales.

2) Invasion of the Bikini-Clad Samurai Vampiresses from Outer Space. Probably doable in the upper teens. No, it's not serious, but it is definitely "horror," loosely defined (Ed Wood is the contact!).

3) Small Fears. Can't remember the author. It's a pretty creepy arc with an explicitly horror theme. I recommend saving it until a higher level, though; its custom enemies hit hard.

4) The Zombie Apocalypse Task Force (I think that's the name; check the Community Digest for some posters about it). The zombies in this arc, while they appear in hordes like the currently popular zombie apocalypse types, are explicitly supernatural creatures. I think a monster hunter would find them natural adversaries. Though the arc's marked as good for teams, and I imagine it is, it can be soloed without too much difficulty at, I'd guess, 30 or so and up, due to numerous, powerful allies.

Thanks for starting this thread. I was so inspired by all the posts that I decided to make my own monster arc although it may be too tough for a lower level scrapper to solo. Maybe try it out sometime if you get to higher levels. Monster's Gauntlet # 342100
