No Base Loving with I15?

I'm sure by now you've all seen Posi's Address discussing I15. He makes no mention of Base tweaks/changes at all.

I also saw the I15 Overview, and it doesn't mention Bases either.

Guess we get no loving this issue?

Anyone else heard or seen anything?

This is true he made no mention of bases.
However, I am waiting to see what happens.
After all, the ability to set permissions on individual storage bins in my opinion, was the best part of issue 14. Yet no mention was made about that until it went to the live server.
Some things get overlooked in announcements like this,or are considered trivial.
I will wait to see what issue 15 brings us

There's just no accounting for some people is there? This is the Fifth Anniversary! The Devs are manually running an event for us players during what would be their off-time and announcing the next issue... and all you can think to do is complain about one aspect of the game that rarely gets announced anyway (one that a relatively small number of folks are going to get excited about)? Wow, just wow!

This is a forum for base builders, you are lost.

Whatever forum you were headed to misses you and wants you not to wonder into a forum you clearly have no interest in.

Anyone who posts here eagerly awaits base updates. It's not uncommon to ask, "where is the base love?" in a base construction forum.

And the glass is not half empty when we ask.

Wow is right... overreact much 37? I did not read any "complants" from the OP at all, just a couple of questions regarding I15 and bases. More than a few of us have been waiting for more stuff for bases to shake loose for like years. What's the big harm in asking the question? Geez.

Yeah, I did flip out a bit, huh? I guess I have just seen more than a few comment in the past directly after an anouncement stating all the things that the Devs haven't done, with little praise to what they did do. It just seems to me that people are just never happy, especially on these here forums. My apologies to the OP.

With regard to the above who basically said "get the heck outta my forums": I am the architect for my base(s). Indeed I do wander in here occassionally to check stuff out. This particular time it was due to this thread being in the Active Threads link, and I payed no nevermind to where it was... I most definately should have.

Also, I was a bit torqued that I couldn't participate in the Anniversary Event the way I woulda liked to... my discontentedness fell on an innocent.

We're all still feeling the sting of the "Base love coming soon!" vibe that led up to Issue 13 with not much coming out as a result. Having said that, I do indeed love the lack of pathing rules and the lowered costs. I also like the bin security although it didn't mean much to my particular SG. So when a new issue announcement comes out with no mention of anything base related, there are going to be some complaints.

I think the big issue is that they need to go back to the basic programing of the bases in order to give us base love. We now have our own red name and last I knew he/she was checking into all the programing, that takes time. Though I will be very happy when some of our base love requests come to life.

Your last reply showed a lot of class 37. Good show. Believe me, I've done my share of "flipping out" in the forums so you are not alone.

Capt very well summarizes my thoughts on the subject at hand. No intent at throwing rocks at some of the more recent strides (both wrt to the Anniversary issue or bases). But I sure would welcome further base functionality and improvements.

I'm glad they squashed the bug but, lets nudge the Devs for some 5th column themed base addons. Those taskforces will give a badge ...so let's tie them to a SG badge that unlocks some of the neat stuff we see in the bases, Computers, Desks, Prison :-). The more we suggest the more willing they are on developing the content.

Base love? What's that? I'm not surprised at all if nothing is done in them for i15. Sorry to be negative, but I've kinda given up.

What would NOT surprise me is when their supposed Base Raid "fix" goes live, there'll be HUGE changes and the majority of people won't be happy about 'em. Just my prediction.

I still don't see what harm there is is in throwing in a few decorative items into the base editor. Sheesh. C'mon, pleeease?

I've never experienced the 5th Column before, so it should be very interesting.

A safe prediction, I would think. Essentially, we were told that pathing rules were removed due to raiding being disabled. It stands to reason that, if you want your base to be raid-capable if they bring back the Cathedral of Pain, the base will have to once again adhere to strict pathing rules.

The last I read on the pathing rules when raiding becomes available again was that there -might- be an option to turn it on and/or off depending on if you want your base raidable or not.

What I hope is that they make it that the violating items that block items get highlighted. Nothing like trying to make a base raid ready to find out that a microphone was the only one item you needed to delete :-S

Mebbe just make all decorative items be non-clipping during a base raid?

Would simplify things - Only functional items would need to be checked for pathing issues.

I don't know if I am ready for more base love, after the "love" we have gotten in the past

Still, I hold out some tiny hope. Although I don't think we'll see anything new on the decorative side until they decide what they are going to do with bases overall. Why put resources towards building assets that could be invalidated by major changes?
