He didn't. It was Dan Akroyd that said "Jane, you Ignorant...." Murray replaced Akroyd the following year, but it was nowhere near as funny. Just didn't have the same chemistry.

No... Jane was an ignorant [WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS].
Denis was my era, though I remember (and have since seen repeats of) the earlier Weekend Updates. IMO, he was the epitome of that segment. Certainly, nobody since has come even close (though I'm liking the current team better than any other in a long time).
Jane ruled her era, Dennis was overall the best ever... Tina and that blonde chick comes in tied with jane for second...
