Mission Arc Critiquing Thread

For my arc:
Name: Future Skulls
Arc ID: 4727
Length: Long
Morality: Hero
Missions: 4
Enemy groups: Custom group, Skulls, Coralax
Description: A low level arc, the Skulls get an idea, and it is up to you to stop it from happening.

Contact dialogue (mostly fixing commas/runons):
"$name thank you for coming so quickly." Try "$name! Thank you..." or "$name, thank you..."
"I have found something in the libram you brought to me $name." :: "...you brought to me, $name."
"old diety Merulina" :: "old deity Merulina"
"Something of power must have been there, I only hope it was not what we are seeking, since it was no longer there." :: "Something of power must have been there. I only hope it was not what we are seeking, since it was no longer there."
"One of the others must have been able to find something we can use $name." :: "...something we can use, $name."
"We are almost out of time and options $name." :: "...and options, $name."
"This last option is dangerous, with no guarantee it will work, but we have no choice." :: "This last option is dangerous, with no guarantee it will work... but we have no choice."
"Thank you $name for doing this." :: "Thank you, $name, for doing this."
"Thank the gods $name." :: "Thank the gods, $name!"
"Using the dagger and the time of the ceremony, we should be able to scry out the exact location of the ceremony." :: "Using the dagger and the ceremony's time, we should be able to scry its exact location."
"We were successful $name." :: "We were successful, $name."
"We have found the location of the ceremony out near Salamanca." :: "We have found the location of the ceremony: Out near Salmanca."
"You did well. $name." :: "You did well, $name!"
Other:
In the final mission, the Skulls sacrificing victims appear to be the ones trapped. Perhaps select a different animation for them?
Do your custom bosses have ranged attacks? I hovered above Bonesnap and pinged him to death, and all he did was run around aimlessly on the ground. If your bosses have only melee, they need to be able to fly.
Other dialogue has the same issue as the contact dialogue -- you need to offset $name as though they were actually saying someone's name (so with a comma or as a separate exclamation/imperative).
Bonesnap says, "You again!" But I don't remember encountering him before...
Overall, nice flow to the arc and good use of custom critters. Was very happy with the lack of Defeat Alls, especially on the larger maps. (The third map was maybe a bit *too* big?) Rated 4/5.
Arc Name: Cops and Graverobbers
Arc ID: 32803
Notes: This is a single-mission arc with the required conditions Defeat Boss (x2), Protect Object, and Defeat All in Final Room. It is a 45-min timed mission! One of the bosses is a custom AV, set to full (extreme) powerset usage. I've soloed him as an EB successfully with my Scrapper, but he can be pretty tough to take down permanently. There are several pets available in this mission -- one available immediately, and three 'unlockable' through optional objectives. All pets (theoretically) spawn in the Front of the map. There are some issues with spawn and ambush placement and dialogue that I am not currently able to resolve; should the MA be updated in such a way that I can, I will update the arc accordingly. (Alternatively, if anyone sees something it looks like I could be doing differently, please let me know. I don't think there's anything, but, hey. I'm wrong, sometimes.)
I'd especially like feedback on this if you can run it with a team.
Oh, and -- check the contact "Unnecessary Interaction" dialogue for a bit of an CoH/Shadowrun crossover in-joke.

Thanks for the list of typos and such. Someone sent me a comment saying there were some, but I have been looking at the arc too much and all I can see is what is supposed to be there as opposed to what is actually there.
For the rest, the only Skull that should have been in a trap like pose was Bonesnap. He is supposed to be draining the energy from the hostages and transforming. If other Skulls are in that kind of pose, I need to fix it. And I need to do something to clarify what is happening to him.
Guess I am going to have to add Flight to the bosses. I am too used to the regular bosses having ranged attacks.
Bonesnap was the boss in the first mission in the arc, although he was not required to finish it. At least he is supposed to be, unless the name didn't change when I was editing it earlier.
I agree the map for the third mission is on the large side for a low level mission, but it was actually the original inspiration for the story and it is referenced in the first mission intro. Then I started going through bad guy groups for the proper apocalyptic worldview and came up with the Skulls. I don't know of a smaller flooded map to use for it.
Thanks very much for the detailed look. Now I need to do some editing.

Just finished my arc and putting it up for review.
'Hail to the King'
Arc # 34640
Length: Long, but not really.
Missions: 3 relatively short.
Description: Strange sightings at a local casino are brought to your attention. Gangsters, aliens and celebrity impersonators make for strange bedfellows.

That's a great concept! (I'm making one in the same flavor myself right now)
I did it on Heroic and something tells me that was a good idea.
Spoilers:
The rat pack as a custom group? Excellent! Sammy was one to watch out for.
The Boss dialog in the last mission was hilarious. (Just what I was thinking for mine...so naturally I think it's great)
The whole thing was well done...two thumbs up!
edit: Oh...there is a typo in the 2nd mish intro...a missing space.
Arc Name: Cops and Graverobbers
Arc ID: 32803
Somebody 2 starred this before I got to it.
I liked the mission intro.
Ha! and the mission popup text is funny
The end boss indeed is seriously tough. I can see why you said try with a team
Fought him and lost 4 times before time ran out. My Grav/Psi dom just didn't have the damage to finish him. Perhaps I should try it on a difficulty level lower than level 4 i was running on. THe drain psyche on the minions was wonderful though
I would appreciate it very much if someone with some free time would attempt my Albatross arc listed in my signature, I'm curious about how effective it is. I'll happily review the next mission posted.

Haha, yes, I can imagine. One note about him and his pets -- Custom bosses appear to inherit AT inherents. So I'm pretty sure he's got the Mastermind inherent, Supremacy... which means that if you don't kill his pets (and keep them dead), he's almost impossible to take out.
My thanks to those who played through my hero side Paragon Maid Service and found for me that mission 2 was overpowered. I've neutered it a bit and it should now be much easier to complete.
Could use more feedback Do a search on my name "Adelie" to find it and its villainous counterpart.
I'm gunna run through this Albratross mission posted above next.
Global Name: Rapulis
Arc Name: The Albatross
Arc ID: 38193
Running Commentary as played by a Grav/Psi Dom...
Mission One:
Oh my, my contact has a nasty scar. Wonder how he got that.
Poor fella's wife is ill. But I'm off to fight Skulls? Why?
Decent little mission. I like the map chosen. Had to switch around my powers to play at the lowly level 14 Should be a good intro mission to the game though. So many of these are set for 40+. Nice to see one set for low level.
Mission Two:
More on the poor lady's illness and another mission I'm sent off on without much explanation. I'm calling it. The two are connected somehow!
Oh I like this map too. Good taste in maps.
These Skulls are a bit wonky. They all say the same thing, in stereo. Is that intentional or a bug to squash?
Huff Huff Huff I miss Stamina.
Mission Three:
Wow. I really like this mission's intro text. Now I know what's going on and its a really cool idea. No I'm not spoiling it folks, you'll have to play his mission ;p
I'm still left wondering how my contact fella got his scar though
lol I like the mission popup text too
Hrm. Kinda anti-climatic though. I came across all of 5 enemies before arriving at the glowie which ended the mission.
Closing text for this mission is heart touching.
Mission Four:
Oooh I like this intro text too. This arc starts of kinda weak but gets better and better and at this point I'm loving it.
Very odd choice of map. Hellions are here somewhere?
Hello Mr. Wolf. Why is he just a Lt? Shouldn't he be a boss?
Ok that was weak, end boss was just a Lt too, and I'm on challenge level 4.
Not much of an end text for such a cool story.
Rated it 4 stars. Good idea and really nice story in missions 3 and 4 but there are bugs to squash. Also why was the end guy a "protestor"?
Thank you very much for the input. I'm not sure why they were stuck as lieutenants, I've got them set as bosses, it wasn't anything intention, it must be some trick I'm not getting, sorry. I'll try to make it flow smoother and increase the difficulty of the bosses.
Very Doh! I completely forgot to change his group, thank you very much for pointing that out.
BTW, I'm in the middle of the first mission for Paragon Maids right now, it's been great so far, awesome job.

Arc #: 35286
TItle: Paragon Maid Service
Length: 4 Missions
Description: The Maids of Paragon City are sick of cleaning up after your superpower battles, and they are setting out to do something about it!
Note: There are EBs and an AV (which will downgrade to EB) but there are also powerful allies available which makes it soloable for any AT.

Ran on my Eng/Eng Blaster. This was probably before you tweaked Mission 2 as per your recent post, so I'll give a pass on most of that one.
Overall, it was cute and nice. 4 stars.
There are some level span questions I have, even disregarding Mish2. Maybe work to either limit 3 and 4, or free up the cap on 1?
Some typos here and there:
Mish1 - Photocopy Boy's guard: "...crazy monkey monkey dance..."? Was monkey supposed to be put twice?
- Guido: "Whipe em out?" Accent or misspelled Wipe?
Mish2 - No Warning on Clock. Seriously.
Clue: "get enough foryourself." Needs space.
Mish3 - OP text: Capitalize Council; "Available anwhere..." misspelled anywhere.
- The EB (I assume the AV?)... LOVED the description since that's the absolute first thing I thought when I read the name.
- No warning on ambush (ambushes?). Give a little bit from the Boss or maybe just have them shout?
No issues with Mish4.
The Contact talk was also a bit all over the place. Maybe work on scripting it out a little better so as not to come off as too deranged?
Good job and with a little polish it'd really shine.
Oh, and the Arc# was 39057, not 35286.
EDIT: Removed MArc from post. Just finished running through it with a generally "Pug" team make up and found it to be too difficult. Gonna tone it down a little more.
Will repost later on once tweaked.

I'd really like some feedback on my first arc (Or at least for some people to play it :P)
Arc ID 41565, Astoria in D Minor.
5 Missions, although the missions are all short-medium length and can be stealthed if that's your thing.
It's a horror arc in Dark Astoria. It's more of a personal story that ties into the greater plotline of the Dark Astoria zone rather than an arc about Dark Astoria itself.

Probably will be too easy unless you have your difficulty cranked up a notch or two. Fair warning but with difficulty cranked up AV ambushes are possible. Any feedback you can give me would be appreciated

I enjoyed this story very much. The dialogue was much better than most in the MA. The enemies looked good and were fun to kill. The look of the chars was perfect for the storyline. I rated it a four. I would love to go back and run this again with a small team. Because:
The EBs were tough but not ridiculous. Except Alice, I could not defeat her at. Clearly this arc is for teams and not for soloers. I may have been able to solo this on heroic, but maybe not. I played with a lvl 50 ice/ice blaster with many accolades and a lot of global rech that PVEs on invinc with easy, but I could not defeat Alice on rugged (she sent me to the hosp three times and I quit). Between the permaheld and
the repeated confuse I couldnt target her let alone hurt her.
I got her down the 75% health once and that was it.
Overall very good.
Please critic mine:

Very tough for soloers but doable on the lowest setting.
Perfect for well made midsized teams. No AVs.
May be too easy for large well made teams on lower settings.

Nicely written, wonderful characters.
I enjoyed the setting and dialogs, but I could not finish it, due to the fact I tried with a blaster who was owned twice in a row by Alice.
Too bad we can't buy inspirations while doing MA missions.
I give it 5 stars anyway.

I just ran 14679 "Monsters under the bed" with a lvl 50 ice/ice blaster solo on rugged. Honestly I didnt enjoy this arc much. I rated it 3 stars (I was probably being a little generous). I was going to rate it a one, however having a Kinetics ally was great and the disclaimer in the story description said "soloable with good dam/defenses"; being a blaster I have terrible def, so the disclaimer was perfect, adding another star.
What I liked; the Vixxen looked great. Parents vomiting was very cool. The EBs were very tough but not ridiculous. Had a Kin ally to help.
However, the story was too bare bones for me. The enemies all looked way too similiar. The maps were way too big for the number of objectives (use smaller maps!!). Worst of all was the guard group included a plant controller: twice when rescueing someone I had to stand next to them for 20 seconds (after all the critters were dead) waiting for all the carrion creepers to spawn so I could access the rescuee. You need to remove the plant whomever from the guard group.
No one critiqued mine :-(

Title: 7662 - The Fan Club
MArc #: 5898

Review from the point of view of a Grav/Psi Dominator
Missions One and Two:
I like how you have used standard enemy groups for these missions instead of banging the player over the head with a custom one right away. Makes it fit nicely into CoH lore.
The clues explain the fan club story nicely but I'd add a bit more in game dialogue as well (some people will be too lazy to read the clues)
Missions Three and Four:
Too much Kill All. Makes sense in mission 3, not so much in mission 4.
Mission Five:
I was expecting a mission 5 at the end of mission 4. The story didn't feel over just yet.
