Case in point I also know of people who are pretty much in every one of them AND I also know of other people who hardly get into any of them. *shrugs*

Basically, if you're friends with some of the dev team, or friends of friends, you get a spot, no matter how terrible a tester you may be.

Bitter, but more like a light-medium roast.

HERO con attendees are still getting a pass in beta? I thought that was only for i13- but I could be wrong?

[/ QUOTE ]

Hero Con attendees will be getting into Issue 14's Beta "Soon"...fuzzy date is that by this time next week Hero Con attendees (+ some additional folks) will be in the Closed Beta. It may be sooner, but within a week.

That's as close of an update that I'm allowed to give right now.

So ripped off...Bring Hero Con to Australia...

1) "My origin, aren't I so awesome" architect missions will be the most annoying new content since "We're Vanguard, aren't we so awesome."

[/ QUOTE ]

Chalk me up for the origin arc, but I'm with the rest of the crowd on the "aren't I awesome" arc. Instead I think I'd want to set mine up Quantum Leap style and involve the heros as the guys who "help" thinkgs along.

Of course in the case of my main character that would be making sure that the Paragon Protectors and Freakshow have thier publicity stunt and my main's wife dies.

So in other words, the Devs play favorites.

Guess we'll all have to wait for Live Beta then, lol.

Brutally Beautiful: lvl 50 BA/Inv Brute
Seared Earth: lvl 50 EC/EA Dominator
Yashi Onuku: lvl 50 Ninja Blade/Ninjitsu Stalker

But, I have to ask...

What is the point of this Thread, if none of us are in Closed beta, and know nothing about how the Architect System will work?

So that everything related to I14 testing will eventually end up here? If so they got alot of useless speculation, and/or crap to read before they get to actual content; which will be added when Live Beta Testing starts.

The kind of changes I would likely want to make would cause a lot more alienation amongst the playerbase.

[/ QUOTE ]

Which is why I gather that they're not doing that.

[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe. None of us have a bug under the developer's break room table understanding what their true motivations are.

[/ QUOTE ]I think it's fairly safe to say that features which "would cause a lot more alienation amongst the playerbase" are rarely being considered.

(Insert GDN/ED/PvP joke here)

The reason for I14 being split from I13, was to ensure that players had full 'boss customisation'. So whilst no-one who knows (unless a Dev chimes in) can answer, the likelihood is Yes.

Hardly fancy when terms such as these are taught in high school. Perhaps you should have been more attentive.

What I hope they include the ability to make a link in your description that you can click on. That would allow you to link to music (if you had a specific song in mind to go with the mission) or or perhaps an extended in-character description, in character art and such (for those who wish to include it).

I graduated valedictorian, so you're preaching to the choir. Nice try though.

I think the mission architect is going to cause a situation where the creative department will almost completely stop creating new quality story arcs.
What a friend told me when I mentioned what issue 14 was going to have he concluded something rather similar.
This is a very dangerous issue. When you put the creative direction in the hands of the community, that gives some of them a message similar to that of Neverwinter Nights.
"You make your own content, we're through."

One problem (well, more than one, but we'll just go with your inspiration.) Neverwinter Nights wasn't an MMO.

It still hints at a transition of work.

Posted

So power customisation would hint at no more new powersets, cos we could just make ours look however we want?

Always remember, we were Heroes.

Posted

No, it would just breed a "why bother" attitude.

No, actually, it doesn't, unless you're looking for something to cry DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM over.

[/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't think so. Making them look like you want isn't the same thing as making them do what you want. New sets are needed to do new and different things. All I would want from pc would be the ability to change the color. Would be nice if they would at least make the energy blasts look less like water blasts, though.
