If i play my bs/sr the most and its the toon I play the most and and I want to make a chest thumping build, it would be super awesome if I slotted 14 lotgs just to show off. In the end that would be about as cost effective and make almost as much sense as slotting 8 full sets of purples.

Except you can get full benefit of most (all?) of those purples, but you can only make use of the first 5 LotG.

The non-obvious behavior you're thinking of is that the LotG +7.5% bonuses are separate from the sets that give 7.5% +recharge. They both obey the rule of 5, but you can have five of each.

The non-obvious behavior you're thinking of is that the LotG +7.5% bonuses are separate from the sets that give 7.5% +recharge. They both obey the rule of 5, but you can have five of each.

And BABs or Castle posted an explanation of this a while ago is that the rule of 5 is not by the numerical benefit but by the name of the benefit.
So if 7.5% recharge normally is named "Moderate Recharge" (I don't recall the real name), the LotG 7.5% is called a different name so they do not overlap.
Which makes it very hard to explain to people too. It's not like we know which ones say "tiny" versus "small" versus "minor" and so on. We just know the numbers 1%, 1.5%, 2%, etc. So when they name the same % with 2 different names it just creates confusion.

Ran the Hard Luck arc twice. Should easily get the soldiers into ITF range over 2xp Weekend. Hopefully get the Zombies to the upper 20s/low 30s too.

Ah! I see. There's got to be a Fire/Psi dominator or similar build out there who can verify this. CJ/Maneuvers/Vengeance for 3 LotG's, 1 Basilisk and two Kinetic Combat sets for a trio of normal 7.5%...

well its not a theory.. thats why ppl can get like 130+ recharge in set bonuses... one of my doms has 200% recharge with perma hasten running. i use 5 lotgs, a snipe set, and a few other sets... there was a thread about this earlier (during i13 closed beta) that i and a few others tested using 5 lotgs and 5 sets that offer 7.5% recharge from them (snipe, taunt, KB, and now hold)

Actually, in this case, we do. The Luck of the Gambler recharge bonus has 'Luck of the Gambler' in the name.

The info is not actually in the GAME, which is a flaw. (There's an enormous amount of inconsistent undocumented "stuff" about the invention system... I gave up keeping track of all of it about the time that I found out that the 3% Psi Res IO's were giving 2.25% to scrappers.)

The 3 Crabs have hit 40. The 3 Merc/Darks are 35+. Doesn't look like any will be getting Patrons. The stupid 10 mini-arc limit prevents me from doing my Patron arc. No, I'm not going to do one of those other arcs to get my Patron to talk to me.
That mini arc thing really irks me, and makes me wish even more that they would remove the need to do the patron arc to take the powers.

You know, for a long time, our fire/rad based team was grabbing random fourths. There's some funny math that goes on with 7 and 8 people. The "team size" modifier for 7 is 2.2, so 2.2/7 = 0.31, rounded a smidge. The team modifier for 8 is 2.5, so 2.5/8 = 0.31, rounded a smidge. In short, the 8th member is free. And you get bigger/better spawns, which on a well-run superteam is a bonus.
Anyhow, I remember broadcasting in Atlas something like: "Uber steamrolling super team looking for one member. You can sit back and soak massive xp; must have no more than 3 month vet badge."
So we were hoping we'd get a newb who had never seen anything like it.
The 3 Crabs are all 45. The MMs are all in the 35-39ish range. The MMs just stink compared to the crabs. I'll probably do some silly things with the crabs at 50 to cheat the MMs to 50.
The 2nd team I want to start at a higher level. They are scattered at lots of levels. I'm getting the Kinetics to 38 and hoping to start playing them when at least all are 28.
Or I may just take the 3 Crabs to the Snake level 50 map and smash 50-100 52 snakes at a time with guys in tow.

Yes its a game, yes its play money. In the end though, at least in my opinion, I would rather give it away than be wasteful in this way. And this isn't coming from someone who has one toon he struggle and strive to purple out. Before I canceled my second account I had over 15 toons purpled out with lotgs and all the bells and whistles to boot. Being wasteful and unwise is just that, to each their own and all but I don't have to condone.
Also of note, Uber and I talk enough in game that you can pretty much count on he knows exactly what I am talking about.
