Think of it this way: What will the devs who are not involved with the Mission Architect be doing while others are working on I14? I'm betting that they'll be working on the stuff that'll be in I15 which has been hinted to be a high content issue.

The stuff that was discussed in the survey awhile back I felt would be game saving.
The whole moral compass thing with your toon starting out as nuetral... that sounded awesome! only thing is certain AT's would be ignored if you could be a Brute/Corruptor on Blue side.. So i am not sure how or if that would be possible...
One thing I think would be great is expanding on the epic archetypes. For Example...
Blue Side: Longbow with branches like the VEATs
Red Side: Nictus with the shape shifting that the PBs and WSs have...
KEEP the epics being opened by having a level 50 for the simple fact that if you dont have a lvl 50 toon then you havent experienced all this game has to offer..
Something needs to be done to make Mid-levels fun to play again... really needs some new content bad... thats alot of content to add though..

Yeah, skill still matters, but those two builds are the new scissor/rock hybrids.
Melee is still lol.
This system is just worse in the sense that it dumbs down the skill level required in a team environment.
When I'm spiking on a therm and getting more kills than anyone else in my team.. yeah.. LOLroles.

I thought issue 13 and then later 14 were said to be loaded with stuff that would blow our minds. Now its 15....

I rarely PVP, but these changes to pvp are just stupid. This whole PVP nerf, reminds me of the NGE over at Star Wars Galaxies.
Bottom line, it rewards those who put in no effort and punishes those that have ..

the effort would be time, influence/infamy, and study of game mechanics in order to come up with a solid build for pvp.
In this age of IO's, sets bonuses, etc., a player that has invested time and effort into making his/her toon good at pvp is punished by diminishing returns and other mechanics in this new pvp system. This is inversely a reward to those players that do not invest in their toon as they can now perform on par with those players that did put forth the effort.

Well i was there for the NGE at SWG and this is absolutely nothin like that, hehe. Almost offends me to hear someone compare the two. I do like the PvP changes its the lack of story arcs and the general large story of the game not goin forward taht i dont like. Like there was suppose to be at least 1 zone enhancement in i13 i had thought and pretty sure it was mentioned a few times, but nothin. I13 then 114 and now i15 is suppose to blow us away with things we cant even imagine, im just waitin.

I've been around practically since launch, and I'm staying. As far as I can tell, Issue 13 is giving me nothing but good stuff, and I'm very much looking forward to the Mission Architect.
Granted, Issue 13 is pretty light on content, and it's a bit of a wait to Issue 14, but I'm still as addicted to the game as ever.
PvP sucked before. I am willing to try the new version. I guess the hardcore PvP crowd is going to have to grin and bear it...all 5 of you. I keed I keed
Nice interview. Posi gave a nice summary of the new features and powersets coming to us in issue 13 and some of the reasons behind the design decisions were interesting.
The split of Mission Architect to I14 is something I can understand even though I keenly await it. I was quite surprised to learn it didn't have a "customise the boss" feature, so I'll happily wait until it does.
PvP is not something I'm qualified to comment on really. My only opinion is that it's a "sometimes food". Just not my thing really.
We'll all be so knee-deep in Shield Tankers and Pain Dominators before the holiday season, running new missions, that we'll wonder what people were dooming about.
Issue 13, bring it on!

Same here. At least here the devs are attempting to balance things instead of dumping entire skill sets. Besides these pvp changes are leading to fixes in base raids and cathedral of pain(no its not a rumor, they did say as much). So there is definitely a bright future so far. If PvP becomes popular by the masses, maybe with these secret identities villains could infiltrate paragon city and vice versa. But right now the direction and baby steps they are taking isn't a rushed thing. I would like to see the other "comic book" MMO handle these issues.
I for one am excited about i14, I like the idea of creating an "live action" comic book in your fingertips. Plus the new merits system will be great in hopefully lowering the economy in the game to give some people a chance to get some sets.
I'm still giggling that:
1. Posi thought Doms were bad in i12.
and
2. He thinks they'll be better under the proposed i13 systems.

Or, it just might be - that players are good at picking the "best option" among a group of power choices.
It could also be:
The power taken disproportionately in relation to others is the one that sucks the least, the one that looks the coolest, or in the case of a Pool Powers - maybe its the one that's the "best/non-garbage choice" (you have to take) in order to get the power you really want later on...
Seriously, the idea that because a power is extremely popular - is somehow a direct correlation to that power being "broken" (as in 'too good'), is a pretty big assumption.
Even if a power is taken 'all the time' - I don't see how that means it's "too powerful".
One could say that the others are "too weak" perhaps?
I'm looking at you Flurry, Jump Kick, Boxing & Kick!
And for that matter - how about most of the Presence & Medicine Pools, and lets not forget - Group Fly, Team Teleport, and Whirlwind.
Heck, the entire Concealment Pool is kinda sketchy these days (IMHO) = you get the idea...

It wasn't a bad article, was great either - and I'm really hoping there is more than the Mission Architect in I14 - like a bit more Power Proliferation - maybe something semi-straight forward somebody mentioned AR Defenders, or maybe something close to a long requested Powerset - like a variant of (MM Thugs') Pistols for Blasters/Corrupters maybe?

Funny, I was there for the NGE and it does remind me of it, only when compared to the pvp game. Look, I get what they are trying to do. I can also tell you I have heard the rumblings within my SG, and several of my core players are likely to leave because of these changes. I however have not heard any one in my SG, when asked, say they like the changes. These are they ways in which it reminds me of the NGE. I am only trying to draw a reference to another case where the core combat system was changed, and the NGE was my only experience. Thankfully these changes did not require them to change the GUI also
