Part IV Upkeep

New Rent is calculated by certain items you have in base.

Enhancement Storage: 100 Prestige
Inspiration Storage: 100 Prestige
Public Salvage Storage: 100 Prestige
Empowerment Tables: 100 Prestige

For each item you have in your base of the above its 100 prestige.

This means the max rent most bases will have is approximately 2000 (as there is no reason to keep lower level empowerment stations aside from decoration)


Vaults do NOT have a prestige upkeep associated with them, so most will truly only see 1900 rent per cycle.

Is there a conversion of Base Salvage to Invention salvage like was hinted by Positron? If so where is the conversion done? If no conversion, what happens to existing base salvage if you can't convert and the workbenches and empowerment stations won't use it?

The old one, as far as I could tell. When I copied my main over to Test, he couldn't actually place crafted items since I didn't have enough prestige to make a base, but they still had the old prices showing in the "Place Personal Item" menu.

Thank you so much for putting this together. I do have one question did they ever finally shrink down the size of the orbits of control base item? Its way too big for the control room but the tech version of the same item fits just fine.

Thinkthinkthink...if I expand the size of the base from 8x12 to 12x16, assuming that would recover the prestige for the 8x12 plot size...make a new secure teleport bay in the new space, move all my present telepads there (and not waste frickin' valuable salvage rebuilding 8 arcane teleporters!)...

Godamighty. Teleporters going from cheap and easy to "Delete one of these and you are out of the SG in a heartbeat!" That was intelligent. What happened to "We want to make things easier."

We already have all of ours, but I'm crafting a dozen extras, just in case, before I13 goes live.

Rent is now apparently based on the number of storage items (maybe some other items too?). It's undoubtedly a LOT lower than it is on Live. We were never given info on how rent had changed (or even that it changed at all), but some people were able to work out that it was based on the number of storage items they had.

Those are 3 seperate ways to make a telepad. Don't like the one that uses goo or alchemical silver? No problem. Go with Clockwork Winder, Temporal Sands, Simple Chemical, Psionic Manifestation.

And yes, people in closed beta have already complained about some of their component requirements. So please let your feelings be heard. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from trying to change the proposal, just pointing out each item has 3 possible "recipes."
