I bought it and now I feel like an idiot because I wasn't paying attention:
    1) I thought it was actually a new costume set available when I saw it and didn't research it properly. I was shocked when I realized it was a costume code and I have nobody to blame but myself.
    2) I've essentially validated the outrageous price by buying it (and again, that's on me), but I won't make that mistake in the future. It's way too expensive.

I'd rather see the devs spend their time on important issues than dilly-dallying around with a very minor QoL issue.

Like you said in a later post, some are for it, others against it, and some don't care. Personally, I think it's a system that people have been asking for through a mailing system or recipe/influence storage items.
  3. I like the idea. That way I can stop bugging friends to help me transfer recipes and influence around to my crafting toons. At the very least, they could increase the capabilities of the vaults to include recipes and influence.
  4. Ah... that explains much. Thank you kindly, you two.
  5. I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I recently created 7 Level 20 Damage Enhancements to get the badge, and the progress bar never budged. I did it a few days prior, creating 6 Level 20 Damage Enhancements that were counted, but it didn't happen this time.

I did bug it, though I'm considering petitioning it.

Both times I was in my base; both times I purchased recipes straight from the crafting table; both times I was in SG mode.

Is this a bug or a known issue I somehow missed? Your input would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Got mine May 5th... evening. And then respeced some toons to take advantage of the Level 6 travel power. Hello, breathing room!
  7. Wow, I just geeksploded all over the place. Can't wait for more details!

There have been many posts on the Closed Beta boards and here that I’ve wanted to answer. I’d like to answer as many of those critical questions as I can.

Fantastic! Welcome, and thank you for addressing some of our concerns. I, for one, am happy that you guys are addressing the refund issue, and I can't wait to see what you come up with.
  10. Thanks for posting this, Plasma Stream. It is very appreciated and some good news, though the base salvage conversion looks... messy.
  11. Beautiful job, Stacker. I love your design sensibilities. Makes me want to tweak my base something fierce, but I can't until the prices drop.
  12. My prayers and thoughts are with you, SS.
  13. Consider me disappointed as well. I'd love to get my hands on that particular costume, but I'm not attending these cons.

    1) It's optional.
    2) That's defeating the purpose of including the ads in the first place.
  15. The gist of it is as follows from the first three paragraphs of the announcement.

"Today we announced our partnership with Double Fusion to provide optional in-game advertising for City of Heroes. I wanted take some time to share some details beyond those in the press release.

In-game advertising is something that we have carefully considered ever since the initial release of City of Heroes in 2004. From our perspective it always came down to a few fundamental questions: Will this technology make our game experience more immersive or less immersive? In other words, is City of Heroes an appropriate environment for it? In-game advertising in other MMOs has sometimes been received as an unwelcome addition, so could we actually find ways to make this a significant win for our customers? And with the plan of reinvesting all the revenue that we make from this, how much will this single (optional in-game advertising) initiative actually allow us to grow our development team?

These are complex questions that can’t necessarily be answered with 100% certainty, but after discussing this for a number of years we believe we’ve found the right partner to bring ads to the game while being sensitive to our community’s needs. I want to make it very clear that we are not “forcing” in-game ads upon our players. Thus, the word “optional” is of key importance. None of our players have to change their game experience in any way if that’s what they prefer. All that you need to do is opt-out via the Options menu in the game."
  16. I think it's a great idea, and the optional part really gives players control over their experience. I love that fact that the game is undergoing a renaissance and I hope you guys make all the money you need to keep pushing out fantastic content.

    **Edited for a typo
  17. Beautiful job, Stacker. I love your base. I especially love the prison bars idea... I've been trying to work on that, and the multi-level rooms are fantastic. Makes me wish I had another 3 million on my base to proceed with the next phase of building. Well done, truly!
  18. Thank you very much EEEKK and Amygdala. I hope to be around for the next base tour so folks can have a look. Or people can always drop me a line online for a tour if they'd like (@battleknight)

I would have never thought of a sushi bar..Nice!

Thank you... the room was actually supposed to be something else, but then I flashed on the idea for the awnings and the sushi bar, and scratched almost everything I was doing with that room. I'm really happy with it now.
  20. Thank you, kindly. I had a ton of fun building it.
  21. Ack! I forgot to include the Portal Room.

  22. Thanks Cap and Plasma... it's one of the things that sold me on the idea of making the room, actually. Once it popped into my head, everything else fell into place.
  23. The War Crows recently built a Sushi Shop and Bar, manned by the finest Tsoo chefs we could capture... er... hire, I mean.

Unfortunately, the Tsoo tried to renegotiate their contracts (escape) and were accidentally cut down (targeted) by the automated defenses. We are now looking for help in the kitchen.
