Discussion: Double XP
Personally I think server transfer tokens should be granted before the weekend. That way people can transfer off of populated servers level up then transfer back. After the weekend the tokens disapear (or maybe a day or two later so people can transfer back if they work or are in the military or something).
Every time I see the grey (or red) dots on Freedom and Virtue, I chuckle at the folks who deliberately moved characters there.
It's been said before, but apparently the obvious never sinks in: the other servers are less populated because folks keep mindlessly dipping into the same ones... because they're more populated...
On Justice, Liberty, Triumph and Champion (Both blue- and red-side, mind you), I've never had an issue forming 6+ member PUGs as long as I wasn't playing at 1 am.

I wouldn't think so. Most people will log more play time and the crowds will be exceptionally larger on each server so wentworths is going to be slammed with more merchandise. If anything, prices will drop.
Double xp weekend does also mean double inf and prestige (or double whatever stuff the red side gets, heheheh) so your money per level ratio is not affected, just the drops.
If you feel you're leveling too fast for the drops you are getting feel free to incur some extra debt to hold your levels back.

Perhaps, since you feel strongly enough about playing on another server, that you would pay for the transfer? Some people might. Maybe some players have been waiting for a good enough reason, or time to transfer servers anyway. That brings extra revenue to the folks that run the game you enjoy playing. I certainly can't deprive them of that opportunity by asking for free transfers.
I have toons all over the servers. I love playing them all, and I've purchased transfers, its not so bad.
I too have used a number of server transfers and renames to spread my toons out a bit (plus Guardian population, though I love it dearly and will always be my home, seems to be declining).

Perhaps, since you feel strongly enough about playing on another server, that you would pay for the transfer? Some people might. A server here a server there is fine, but what about those of us that dont want to play on other servers. I agree with what you said, but I dont like being forced to pay for something just because someone else doesnt mind thats my point.
last weekend logged on a 50 and a second account lowbie to SK, filled my team to 8 (not to pad, but to team), and ran 3 circuts of freaks. Was going to do the same last night just with DOUBLE xp/influence/prestige. I am pretty sure I had better 'results over time' last weekend. the reasons
1.)finding team members was much harder. there were already farms running. there were THREE PI's on virtue so broadcast was less effective. Globals were spotty at best, and I even had problems sending simple tells.
2.) the quality of recruits were lower (no offense to those on my team) but last weekend everyone (even the lowbies) were going at it full-throttle. This weekend I had more people who just wanted to sit and leech. Even though I had 3 scraps and a tank, they were a few lvls short of 50 or were sk'd to someone a couple lvls below 50 and were not capable of taking full aggro. This slowed us down.
3. the 10 minutes it took to load into and out of a mission.
I may just create a villian on a friends server and join his VG that he has bugged me about tonight so that i can play more. I can lvl good enough on virtue anytime. 2XP isnt that much better than normal when ALL factors are considered.

Do you think there would ever be a chance for this great idea to carry over onto a Monday?
I'm the type of player who normally only get to play on the weeknights. I don't get to play on the weekends all that much (This 2x xp weekend, I have been unable to play at all). I was just wondering if there would ever be this possibility so that players like myself could fully take advantage of this oppurtunity. Just a thought...
I'd like it to carry over a few extra days simply because I've rarely been able to actually log into the server my characters are on.
This hasn't been a double XP weekend for me; it's been a 20% XP weekend.
What does double xp mean to the me?
Its a weekend where if I can squeeze anytime online, one or two of my characters (usually on a server not of my picking) can more quickly advance through some levels. It's actually a very enjoyable experience. Some folks can dedicate the time and bring a new character from 1-50 (ha, simply amazing to me!), and get nearly full utility out of the double xp play window.
I usually get to play about 7hrs / week. I'd really enjoy more access to a sporadic weeknight period of double xp. Perhaps in addition to these weekend events a more regular weeknight double XP (monthly?), or a temporary mission team bonus would make the event more enjoyable to the entire playing audience of CoX.
I also think the popularity of these events is cause enough to review the time for normal levelling a character from 1-50.
does it end at midnight or tommorws patch?

Both solutions are unfair at best.
Perhaps the trial accounts should be only allowed on the less populated servers for the duration of the trial.

Only 3 PI's on Virtue? There were 6 PI's on Freedom and the first one was frequently full. There are often 3 PI's on Freedom, even during non double xp weekends.
At least for me, things were a lot better at the lower levels. I got a toon from level 11-26 over the weekend and I had a lot of fun doing it. The only real problem I had was the huge log times getting into the missions.

They already did that.
Moreover, they have a line to walk. They do this to entice people. It sounds somehow dishonest when said this way, but they have a goal of making it take time to level. If it's too easily achievable, people will play though alts, get bored and leave.
They do this to keep people hooked.

Where have we gotten the idea that there were large numbers of trial accounts logged in for this? Is this based on something or is it just a conspiracy theory that's sprung up? I mean, really, do we find it hard to believe that Freedom could fill up to its capacity just based on normal accounts?

People have been using trial accounts for years in this game.... it is only being seen as an issue now because of the restrictions placed on them because of the gold farmers.
I could not get on Virtue or Freedom at all yesterday. I don't have many chars on Freedom, but the one I wanted to play the most was on Virtue.
I don't know all the politics of capping, but I wasn't pleased that I'm coming up on 2 years, still love the game and convince people to join, and I can't play.
I do know that they should do something about this.

I agree, they should do something. All the characters I wanted to play yesterday were on freedom.
Heck the whole weekend was a wash for me. I sent a polite in-game note about it saying this was the first double exp weekend I've been able to attend and I was on vacation!
I've been around since...coh beta so I'm not a trial account. Not that I think it matters, they just need to boost the servers a heck of a lot more so paying and trial people can *play*.
I understand the server has a capacity. It does not diminish the fact that I was very sad I could not play my regular characters on Virtue most of the weekend. Double xp weekend was finally gonna be my chance to get them out of the ruts of their current levels. I could not play them at all due to the servers being at full load. I now appreciate regualr xp much more and hope we don't have any double xp anytiem soon again.
