  1. Lift affecting bosses does come in handy though, that's one concession I'll make to grav's utility.
  2. Gravity certainly could use a review. My oldest controller is Grav/Rad (rerolled when the respec taskforce was too tough to do), and he's still only level 33 after nearly 7 years of on and off playing. He was CaptSingularity before Singularities were in the powerset (based on an old alien in a customized race I played in starfleet battles).

    Grav is bad enough that it lead to me abandoning a fresh Grav/Time controller who was power leveled through AE content to 34! It's animations are too slow. It's controls are flakey.

    I love Singularity as a pet, and the concept of the set is awesome. But the implementation and balance of Gravity Control is dreadful.

    Great suggestions:

    1) Lift as an aoe knockup, Yeah!

    2) Propel as an AOE. How about a targeted AOE similar to the grenade temp power? It would be a huge improvement. The Vet attacks are light years ahead of Propel as it is.

    3) Dimension shift replaced with something fun and less likely to instill team loathing. I've seen it, although I've never taken the power. I believe only grief loving players take this power to torment damage dealers.
  3. Keeping this code working smoothly must be hard with all the server maintenance time.

    Wonder how much it would cost to hire a team dedicated to rewriting core server code. Make it a background process and make stability a key concern with automated redundant server cascading. I'd pay extra for that, I may not be alone.

    Important software services are made to be always available, and while this is just a game it's something I pay for and care about access to.

    Couldn't agree more. Weekends are rough. An entire week would be pretty sweet. And I'd like to think the folks that haven't gotten bored and left by now probably won't do so with the regular issues (I guess expansions are out of the near term view?)
  7. What does double xp mean to the me?
    Its a weekend where if I can squeeze anytime online, one or two of my characters (usually on a server not of my picking) can more quickly advance through some levels. It's actually a very enjoyable experience. Some folks can dedicate the time and bring a new character from 1-50 (ha, simply amazing to me!), and get nearly full utility out of the double xp play window.

    I usually get to play about 7hrs / week. I'd really enjoy more access to a sporadic weeknight period of double xp. Perhaps in addition to these weekend events a more regular weeknight double XP (monthly?), or a temporary mission team bonus would make the event more enjoyable to the entire playing audience of CoX.

    I also think the popularity of these events is cause enough to review the time for normal levelling a character from 1-50.

  9. Why not have it that neither the npc nor the player can push the other?

    Players should have pushing priority...
    If it's a server issue with numbers of npcs in one area you can easily have them fade out if the density goes to high?

  12. Dominators, like controllers with attack powers and a nifty but restricted use inherent (man I'd love containment for Doms)
    Master minds, who doesn't want cool pets cranking out the attacks?

    !?!SMASH!?! GAWD! er I mean Brute nice inherent, super fun thematic super characters, how can you go wrong.

  14. EF should never been a toggle in the first place, Radiation Infection and Enervating Field should have been activated powers similar to lingering radiation, but have great accuracy...

    I've been thinking about optimal slotting for my playstyle and with Ill/Rad for one of my controllers I had gone with 4 recharge 1 acc and 1 damage, I think I may swap it to try 1 acc, 2 dam and 3 recharge. I've noticed with containment I sometimes don't even summon them (depends on team size and spawn size), I'll enervate/blind/spectral wounds my enemies down fast enough.
  16. Ok had a chance to test burn with my lvl 20 Fire/Axe tanker. While I was able to knock down an occasional minion into the fire, at most I was doing about 16pts of damage in 8 ticks of 2 to the enemies of equal level (3 slots of DO damage). Then the enemies would flee I could taunt them but if I was lucky I would get one or maybe 2 of those taunted back into burn for about 5 more tics of 2.

    Since this is the new vision for fire tankers I was forced to think a while about it, and redesign this character as a Fire/Fire tanker. At least then I can get some synergy from the fire damage enhancing power. So the level 20 Fire/Axe tanker is no more replaced by a lvl 7 fire/fire.

    In the future if something so fundamental is changed, I wonder if secondaries would be allowed to be respec'd as the character was made unplayable.
  17. Some folks are blind to the obvious, Dark defeneders can control with the best of them.
    I have problems just planning one out let alone playing one, what do I slot up, debuffs/blasts/control??

    A mini mez would be nice like a 1-2 second stagger when blasted (treated as knockdown and defended with acrobatics, integration, hover, etc). That'd allow blasters to be a bit more controllish, maybe have it as an inherent power at lvl 32 (kinda like the pet fun for controller damage at that level).
  19. I played WoW for a while, CoH before that and recently came back to activating my CoH account. I just got Guild wars too and like it, and I can enjoy the game as it doesn't feel like its sucking away my free time as much. I still want burning monkeys in CoH (fire imps), as well as alot of other cool power combinations so I'll probably bounce between the two but I let my WoW account slip, just burned out on the instancing.
  20. Interesting posts, thought I'd butt in my personal xp in power levelling. My current favorite character (about my 15-16th alt) was power levelled from 2-14. That allowed me to more quickly contribute to supergroup teams, travel about on my own etc. All of the alts I've played into the teens (only a couple were deleted before travel powers) and I was fortunate enough to fast forward to the travel power stage.
    Why power level you ask? Why the heck not, it was an AT I'm very familiar with and it saved me the somewhat painful days of active leech teaming (thats just frustrating) where my character can't contribute much. After you've levelled every AT to 14 there should be an option to start new characters at that level.

    On a side note I really do enjoy the game and the team aspects with my friends from rl, and I look forward to the all the changes the devs have in store for CoH over the upcoming months.
  21. Geko, what about making Accelerated Metabolism affect the target only (so it could be used to powerup yourself or one other target) with a time that could be made available every couple of fights (say a base 5 min timer)?
    I don't need an area of effect buff, I just want a buff I can count on every battle. If the endurance regen, damage bonus, resistance bonus is too high by all means scale them back but leave the power available more often. Heck dump the power that explodes a fallen ally, for an aura version of it at higher level. Btw all my characters are planning in Stamina now (don't have any regen scrappers).
    Also the big griping is because we wasted slots on part time powers, I want to spend those slots on powers I use all the time. Without the ability to spend those slots we're handicapped until... lvl 22 or higher when we can fully slot AM/Hasten with SO's. Sadly I'm not levelling fast enough in one character to get near that mark anytime soon (especially after the AM fix).

    So in short last request: please something like a self target or targetable Accelerated Metabolism that is available every battle or so with a few enhancements (say 3-4 DO's).
    Or the ability to recreate characters (this will make everyone happy.. well at least most of the people that feel that they were mislead when testing out different characters).
    Why not allow character rebuilds?
