Hopefully getting a toon to 50...maybe my TA/A Def....or something else....

Either way, hooray for double xp, especially when it's the weekend right before my birthday!

I expect to get my first 50 out of it. If ATARU doesn't hit 50 before then, that will surely do it.

Already arranging my "gottado"'s so I don't have to do any that weekend. Now, do I want to burn a day of vacation time so I can play Friday, too?

(Watch -- I'll do that, and then the servers will crash all day Friday! *knocks wood*)

I want to know how the lockouts and such are going to be addressed for this time round.

Nothing like missing much of the double exp when you cant even get to your characters.

One proposal I would have is that trial accounts are not allowed to log on servers for that weekend. Why should they get to benefit from that and push out paying customers?

Another would be that no new characters can be made during that weekend on servers. Some may whine on that but if you're serious about making a specific character, you can make it or other prior to weekend. This will cut down on the character making for lowbie levels to then delete n try something else because they didn't like what they had. This will give players who really want to level something up their time and space to do so instead of competing.

Im just suggesting these because I think that most can agree there has to be something done better than last time in this regard.

No new characters? Good idea but I doubt the devs will make a special code for this. It's probably a bit more involved than blocking trial accounts.
I'm not that excited about double xp. I don't care about getting another lvl 50. To me it's just another playing weekend. With MASSIVE lag and crashing all the time. Instead of being excited about logging in, I'm dreading it.

Locking out potential new customers from an event like this would just be crazy That's the sort of message you don't want to give to prospects. One can't just assume that only RMTers are using Trial accounts. I had a friend on a trial account just a couple of weeks ago.

Like last time I will probably only be able to clock in 2 hours total due to overcrowding and lockouts. And before it starts, I have been on Freedom for my entire 4 years of play, all my friends are there, and i will not move. I will accept the lag and lockout and wait for the event to end.

Just Because You Can, Doesn't Mean You Should!

Here's a thought! Maybe have some alts on a server other than the big 2?! Just as a back-up?! Maybe?! I started just before last double XP weekend and at that time the obvious solution was to make alts on a couple other servers. I play on Virtue and will go there first but if I can't then I can go to another server. I have been playing on Justice and Infinity with some alts and will go there if Virtue and Freedom lock out. It's better than waiting for the server to unlock!

It also might help if the DEVS would post average users/month on the servers. It might help people find alternate servers to play on.

I went to Infinity and Justice because they seemed to be the 3rd and 4th busiest when i12 went live and over the last 2XP weekend.

This is where I plug Triumph as a friendly alternative to high-population servers that, because of popularity, may not always be accessible during the Double XP events.

If you're looking for an alternative server (or something you want to transfer a character to before the event, or make a character and move them afterwards), then come to Triumph, the Friendly Server ™. Heck, I hear there are even a few choice SGs and VGs there

You know I felt some sympathy for people on high pop servers that got locked out last time, because we for the most part, weren't aware that would happen. Now, for this double XP weekend, people should be ready for the possibility and figure it into their double XP plans.

Yes that means have an alt ready to play on a non-high pop server. You can always transfer that alt to Freedom or Virtue later. If you're planning something with your SG or friends, try planning it for non-peak times.

Personally, I play on three servers. Virtue is one of them, but I'll probably only play on Virtue in the mornings. My double XP plans involve alts on multiple servers.

Its not about RMTers... its about that someone playing for free shouldnt be bumping out of a server someone who is paying. Period.


And also, people saying going to other servers. If your friends, almost all toons, etc are on a specific server, there's no justification to move to a different one. Cant exactly get teams on a ghost town server either, ya know...

Also, someone suggested playing on one of the ghost town servers then transfering it later. Why should I or anyone else pay to transfer it? And pay to do so because trials playing the servers free will be potentially benefitting.

And again, if a trial account wants to reap the benefits of double exp, they can just pay like the rest of us and activate the account. There's some marketing incentive for you.

Seriously, I really hope the dev's do something.... anything to reduce the issues with regards to lockout.

Only a swamp cooler and a small window a/c unit that I put in last night. Keeps the temp at around 90, so far. Still not very comfortable..

The Justice-based SG "Star Patrol" founders all managed to get most of double XP weekend off (or at least permission to leave early on Friday), and we will be leading almost non-stop Task Forces all weekend long for our newer members who want to complete them. We also want to finish the push to get the four 'founders' all the way to level 50 (the group's primary founder is lvl 50, time to bring the other three up to speed).

One big massive gaming/semi-role-playing fest all weekend, and more footage for our group's video! Woot!

Yay! One of the two weekends a year my wife lets me hunker down in my mancave for three days as she brings me food and lets me play all I want! The other weekend she lets me do this is the OTHER Double XP Weekend during the year. Good wife! I will be missing Sunday morning for my nephew and niece's baptism, but family should come first anyway.

And fortunately I'm "between jobs" at the moment, so I have that Friday off as well (although last year my boss was nice enough to let me have it off despite the fact we were swamped and she KNEW it was for a game). I start back to work the day after Double XP Weekend, so that was great timing!
