Character slots in the character selection screen can now be reorganized by dragging and dropping. The sort order is stored in a file on the client, but only if "Remember Account Name” is checked on the Log-in Screen

[/ QUOTE ]
The information is NOT stored on the client. It is stored on your local hard drive, as a file named playerslot.txt. While it remembers the character order, it STILL ignores the first character on your list, and automatically selects the character that was ORIGINALLY at the top of the list, pre-I12.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am finding that it is not stored AT ALL. "Remember Account Name" checked or unchecked, nothing I do will force the client to remember the new character order. The thing is bugged and not working. The new order will remain until you quit the client or log any character, but then reverts to the pre-patch default order. And I also am seeing that, for the brief time that the list remains rearranged, the oldest character on the server is still the highlighted one when you choose that server, regardless of where you've dragged it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, it's stored. I can hit you up with a PM telling you where to find the file. It just seems to be ignoring it. I just tested, and manually editing the file works until you change servers. That's how I just discovered that it does NOT people who play on multiple servers into account. It completly overwrites the file from Server A with the character list from Server B. That means when you go back to Server A, since there's no data on those characters, it will reset their sorting. Not good.

Can you PLEASE fix the toggle dropping bug? This is extremely annoying to toggle up 6-7 toggles everytime I zone or enter a new mish.

Yes. It ignores the sender (their global, from what my chat log has been telling me) as a spammer. So just click that button for e-mails, and also left-click the spammer's name and select "ignore as spammer" for any tells you may get.

[/ QUOTE ]
I understand that the button replaces the /ignore_spammer and /gignore commands for in-game e-mail spam. What I'm asking is whether it also replaces the /petition that was officially recommended in this announcement from Lighthouse. Should we still be filing a /petition before hitting the new Spam button, or does the button now take care of that for us? For that matter, the same question applies to the new "ignore as spammer" option for /tells.

In addition to the things mentioned previously, I find the main chat and nav windows reverting to "dimming enabled" every time you zone extremely annoying.

Where are we going, and why am I in this hand basket?

I absolutely LOVE the player note feature. I am the kind of person that keeps a text file because I cannot possibly remember all of the people I meet in game. This helps that a lot.

How do you load the setting you save as file in you option for new characters.

tis doesn't seem to work for me, i set all my keymaps, preferences, controls, ect, then go to save file get the saved file to whatever message.
Then when i make a new toon i hit the load from file button but nothing happens, i still have to set everything again, what exactly is it saving to file and why can't it upload it.

If you scroll down to the bottom on the General tab, there are two more buttons that say "save to default chat file" and "save to default window file" or something like that. I was able to get those to work for me last night. It changed my window sizes, colors, etc.

The new "color player's names so you can pick them out from text" feature is awesome. Can we select which color our name displays as? My global is tomato red.

You probably should always do the /petition as well.

Some quick thoughts and feedback about these changes:

I like the new power trays...
BUT
You didn't actually increase tray space. You only gave us the ability to see more trays at once.
As odd as this might sound, what I needed was more tray spaces.

Quick breakdown of one of my character's to illustrate what I mean.
Peace Bringer (lv 50)
trays 1-3 Standard powers
tray 4 Nova
tray 5 Dwarf
trays 6-7 Vet icons
Accolades scattered among trays 1-7
That only leaves me with trays 8 and 9 to hold macros and temp powers.
(Note: I also have a slew of keybinds for activation of powers that way as well)

I do have a suggestion though, perhaps if more tray space isn't doable, how about making it so that you can activate powers directly from the "Powers" window list. Since currently you have to drag a power icon from the powers window into a tray before you can activate it (or manually type /powexecname power) which is even more of a hassle in the event I need to activate a rarely used power or temp power. Also, if you decide to go this route, please improve the powers window to allow for easier use of powers from it.

**********

Next I want to comment on the /playernote feature.
I like that I can create a notefile on things other than players, like for example, creating a quick reference file for preatorian AVs defeated, and which are left yet to defeat.

The problem here is that there is no way to see what files you have created without having a darn good memory, or breaking out a pencil and paper and writing down the names of every single playernote file you create, which I can see becoming quite tedious.

Can you please add in a feature that pops up a window listing alphabetically the names of each note file you have?

**********

Other than these two sticking points for me, the issue is great as far as QoL improvements, obviously there are some bugs to iron out, but thats par for course with an issue release. (Hint: please fix the window opaque settings and transparancey bugs )

I ran into an odd problem with the saved chat options last night.

I use an extra tab in the chat pane that defaults to my SG's global channel. I saved the chat settings on an existing character, then loaded them on a new character. The extra tab showed up, with all the right channels listed, but with no default set. It looks like the save isn't capturing the channel default, at least for custom tabs.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Yes, when I saved the chat options with a level 50 and then created a new character, all my chat tabs were present and named correctly but the global channels weren't correctly populated. Probably a bug, but even if it was the /chatsave option spared me from several minutes of annoying chat window manipulations.

Only real complaint I have is that the information provided in detail is only going to really help the Devs and those massively into numbers.

A 2 To Hit bonus means what exactly? That is a bit esoteric for most players. It is OK for damage because you can just compare the numbers, but for something like Accuracy/To Hit if you are deciding to get the power or not, it is useless because you have nothing to compare it against. Other than taking the power and checking how much your attributes change.

Percentages would be much better even if they aren't quite accurate. Tell most players 10% increase and they have an idea what that means and whether it is worth slotting.

It is still a big improvement over what we had before.

This isn't in the list of things to give feedback on but this is the most appropriate of the threads for it.

I love the new chat and window settings and the default file.

A problem I kept noting in my Alt Creation Spree last night is that everything would load from the default file except for my Global Channels. Each time I created an alt, I'd have to go into my Global Tab and add back my Global channels.

Otherwise, the system is working great.

Everyone on my global channels last night (all of us on Virtue) had a problem with setting the colors for the channels. Setting was great, we'd get them beautiful...

...then zone...

..and not only did the custom coloring disappear, but each channel became a different color. So MyGlobal1 would be blue one zone, cream another, then an off-green the next, then back to cream, then off-green, blue, etc.

Another problem I noticed is that my icon for Elude, which used to dim just a few seconds prior to Elude dropping, didn't any more. Made for some risky playing in the TF.

Other than that though, I am *loving* this issue. Absolutely loving it.

This doesnt seem to be working for me. I do have "Remember Account Name" checked, but It's not remembering the order I moved them to- in fact, now they are showing up completely scrambled. To the point im even getting "unavailible slot" showing up in the middle of my list sometimes.

This isn't entirely working for me. I can change the order of my characters and it takes... but if I change the order of characters on another server, then the ones I re-ordered on the first server changes.

Any way we can get multi-server support on this?

Hey, since we can use the mouse wheel to scroll now, could the zoom on the map be changed to use it too?

I'm experiencing something similar to this as well. At my login screen I have it checked to remember my account name. Yet after I log into Champion, move the characters around, log into a toon. Log out and look at my characters again, it's as if I never moved them to begin with.

A couple small additions to help improve performance for dial-up users:

[/ QUOTE ]

As a dial-up user I have to say I can already see the improvement. Teaming is much easer, with fewer Lost Map server messages. I'd like to test it further, maybe latter today, and see if my master mind can team on a mayhem mish. (teaming became impossible for me post 40, or 42)

Just a quick note:

I just want to say thank you to whoever did the work on broadsword. I wish it was this smooth back in beta and is something I've been looking for for years.

No more pauses and what not after attacks. Its awesome! Thanks again, finally

It only sorts the last 12 characters your sorted, look in the file under your logon name under the CoH game directory.

Good to hear there's a fix coming.
