Discussion: CoH at Summer Trade Shows

I completely understand if a date for the SJ M&G likely hasn't been announced yet until a venue has been booked and the date is solid, but concur with Arwen that it would be quite handy for to get details regarding the M&G as soon as possible. There were a lot of people who traveled from out of town (and state and even country!) for the last M&G who will likely want to come back this year. And I know lots of people who live out-of-state that were unable to attend last year's on such short notice, but have expressed interest in this year's M&G if they have enough lead time to make travel arrangements. It'd be great to at least get some dates to work with in the near future so these folks can at least start planning their flights.

I might make it to comic con, as there's also chaotic!
Well, I'm glad I now know you guys won't be at GenCon. That was a large part of it's appeal for me. I'll be saving some cash by either skipping it or only attending for one day. Thanks for the heads up!

The City of Heroes Team will be out and about at the following trade show events this summer:
Comic Con, San Diego, CA
July 23rd to July 27th
Penny Arcade Expo, Seattle, WA
August 29th to August 31st
We'll have more details as to who will be there and what we will be showing as we get closer to these dates, but we want to give those who may be interested in attending advance notice.
Also, we want to mention that we will be doing a player Meet n Greet in the San Francisco Bay Area in mid to late October this year. We had a great time and received a lot of positive feedback from last year's Meet 'n Greet event and were excited to be planning for another one this year. We're still working out the details of the event and we will let you know more about it as we get closer.

While I have to say that I am disappointed that you are not going to be making it anywhere east of the Rockies this year, I can understand with how much travel expenses have gone up.
Hopefully next year you can make it out to the Chicago Comicon, or even further east more often so the large amount of players that are east of the Mississippi get chances to meet everyone.

I am pretty sure there is a good group of us planning on being at GenCon and are also disappointed we won't be seeing the CoH crew. I know last year we had a ton of fun at the Meet and Greet. My hope is that another Meet and Greet there is planned?

Please consider setting up a booth at the NY Comic Con next year. There was a ton of gaming stuff there this year and it's the perfect venue to promote/advertise CoX.

We know that everyone would love to have us visit their back yard. As it stands right now, we are making the shows that fit with our schedules and work well with our plans. Penny Arcade, Comic Con and our San Jose Meet 'n Greet are great opportunities for us that we can reasonably support. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Yes, I do have a wide back yard and side lot, but the convention would have to spill out to the former graveyard that's between my house and a church, and onto the street as well.

Well, there is a 5-805 merge in north county, but I don't think there's a D&Bs anywhere near that, hehe.
I look forward to seeing everyone at PAX this year. I missed out on last year's hang out time as I was roaming the expo hall as a volunteer. Maybe I'll stop by the booth for a chat this time.
Oh and I live in Ohio and the lack of conventions is why I want to move the family out West.

If you didn't attend last year's, you'll need to understand: the Dave n Busters there was nice, but it was WOEFULLY underprepared for us. When they have an arrangement for what we know can be supported by a meet n greet population, trust me, it'll be better than "must have nao" - it was awesome, but it could have been better just because of the cramped arrangements in the D&B. I'm sure they'll find a good hotel for it, there are plenty right there.
