Additional Character Slots Announcement

Oh, how long I've waited for this day. The system they are using is totally generous IMO. Even better is that the slots can be re-ordered now via drag 'n' drop.

Huge thank you to the devs. Their continued hard work to try to bring the players what they want shows that they really do love the subscribers and the game itself. That's what keeps me coming back. Really can't wait for I12 now.

Very exciting feature. I'll definitely be using my 6 free slots quickly, and will probably purchase more at some point down the road.

Now if you could just find me more free hours in the day!

I'll never understand why people complain about this.

I mean... it's a "Veteran Reward." As in, a reward for being a dedicated customer. A reward for investing time and money and supporting the game for x-amount of time.

If everyone had access to all of the rewards from the get-go, they wouldn't be -rewards-! They'd just be a feature in the game.

And it's not like anything you receive as a vet reward is truly game-breaking. Base porters? You have the Pocket D porter, the Wentworth Porter, AND Oroboros. Getting around CoX-land is a lot less of a pain than it used to be. And the costume pieces? Like there aren't a bajillion pieces to choose from already.

So to people who gripe about how it's not fair to new customers I say Pssssssh! Everyone else had to wait the x-amount of time to get their rewards so you should have to as well.

The only gray area I see is people who start second/third accounts. Imagine if they started giving out rewards for people who had multiple subscriptions.

Anyways, thank you devs for this latest addition. Free slots + retroactive free slots = win.

Agreed. It would be nice if they tied vet time to the master PlayNC account date rather than the individual game account. But being able to buy slots with a one-time fee will be a better alternative for me than opening an additional account and paying monthly.

Now if there were a way for me to add my soon to be new characters to my 1 person SG without using another player. )Maybe a SG/VG recruitment station in Pocket D.) It would make it just a little more awesome.

I am... SO happy.

I mean... I live on Virtue, and the coming of the SoA was soooo painful for my lack of slots....

But now... come i12 I am getting 3 slots on Virtue for free....

This is much, much more generous than I'd anticipated! And it's a lot more generous than I think anyone had hoped for in all the speculation about additional slots. I'd not planned on buying more slots, but I know many that were. Talk about customer service!

Hmmn.... If I'm counting right.... 11 servers, 12 slots (currently) per server, new max per server of 36 slots. 2 free new slots, up to 4 free vet reward slots.....

(11 x (36 - 12) ) - 6 = 258 current minimum potential slots to buy.

Current best pricing (in 5 slots for $20, or $4/slot) gives....

258 x $4 = $1032 to get max slots when I12 goes live, up to $1052 (new player).

A cool grand to max your slots.

I wonder who'll go completely insane and do it just for bragging rights....

(qr) Way to go devs. Looking at your plan you just lost my $20, since that's the number of slots I wanted to buy but will be getting free (2 free + 2 VR). I fully expect you to bring out more stuff like the Wedding Pack and GVE Goodie back for me to buy in order to make up for this, and I won't stop my subscription until you do!

This amounts to 4 character slots for me. And all of them get slotted on Guardian. :3 Why, I'll actually be able to make more kitties, thus enabling Legion of Catgirls to take over the world. Mewhahahahaha!

(no... I'm not streaming Pinky and the Brain via Slingbox... not at all >_>;;

Though, I wonder... visually, would adding slots to a server be like adding slots to a power? That'd be hilarious, actually.

Nice work Devs and NC^2! This announcement hot on the heels of in-game advertising has turned me from doom to zoom! It's my understanding that this is the number one most player-requested feature since I1 and now you've delivered.

The freebies for all, the Vet Rewards and the pay-per-slots all add up to versatility and flexibility for anyone's needs. Personally I don't have altitis so the most appealing aspect is the redesigned drag-n-drop interface to satisfy my obsessive need to have my characters in alphabetical order!

For me this is the first true-sign of NC^2 investing back in the game and giving the playerbase what they want.
