The list is suspect IMO

1) For Doms it say Electric Manipulation and not Assault
2) SR Brutes, give me a break
3) Thermal Controllers, so now controllers have more healing options than Defenders?

Don't forget a Build-Up (new grpahics, same old power). Also, at least one single-target immobilise. If it's a Sleep, I can see also having an Area sleep. So that's three more powers, out of the four missing ones, right there. Maybe add Lift, which is more a knock-down than an immobilise.

Actually, I am rather looking forward to running an Axe Brute, and being as borderline-obsessed with Electric powers as I am, it's nice to see more Archetypes get them.

I want to see what-all powers are in the sets, and in what order. Some of 'em we more or less know, but what's in Mental Manipulation? What got knocked out of Electric Melee for Assassin's... um... Shock(?) and Placate?

Assassin's Surge? Charge? Electrical-Sounding Word That Can Be Associated With Severe Pain? That's it! Assassin's ESWTCBAWSP!

Man, this Powerset Proliferation business is harder than the devs make it look...

The follow up is on Gamezone now too. I surrender my last hope that this was an absurd prank.

On the subject of Electric Stalkers (I think easily the biggest WTF?! of the list), I'm slowly talking myself into being excited. Or at least cautiously optimistic. I'd bet the decision behind this has to do with making Scirocco fit in better as a patron concept. With Brutes having the only powers with matching themes and effects, picking Scirocco caused some fairly obvious style clash with a lot of concepts. Now with MMs and Corrs getting /Storm, Doms getting /Elec, Corrs getting Electric Blast and Stalkers geting Elec/Elec, Scirocco's a lot less of an odd duck. Not that he was ever as out there concept-wise as Mako and his Magical Throwing Sharks or Black Scorpion's maces-you-can't-hit-people-with-that-shoot-poisoned-lightning...

There's no way I can truly say I'm disappointed in the information, as I think any power proliferation is awesome (Yes, yes, tweaking things based on AT for balance, OF COURSE).
I too hope that more and more of this is done during the next Issues.

I was definitely hoping for something different for Scrappers and Tankers, but whatever... hopefully they'll continue to cross things over.

An Energy Melee Scrapper (Or super strength) just seemed like a great choice and I 'd have preferred an Elec/Elec Tank.
Hey, I'm sure there are some people immensely happy with each choice that some others are not-so-crazy about.

I think the info probably should have just been given earlier. All this build-up usually just gets people's expectations too high, but that matters not... Huzzah to Power Proliferation!!

Of COURSE it's doable. Just not easily. The problem with moving the Electric Melee/Armor to heroside is that the effects don't all exist in Hero blue. On the other hand, between the Mu patron powers and Mu NPC's all of the effects in Electric Blast are already available in red. A lot less effort that having to recolor the remaining Melee/Armor effects to blue, I'm sure.

Like I said, if it were easy, we'd already have power customization.

I did Predict Fire/Fire for Scrappers, go meh!

I also predicted Lighting Blast for Corrs, woot. Heck I predicted alot, some though did catch me by surprise

This article has been changed from the original posting. I looked at it last night and instead of some silly story it had a list of all the new powersets. I'll provide a list (from memory).

Tanks: Dark Armor, Dark Melee
Scrappers: Fire Armor, Fire Melee
Stalkers: Electric Armor, Electric Melee
Controllers: Plant Control, Thermal
Brutes: Battle Axe, Warmace, Super Reflexes
Blasters: Psi Blast, Mental Manip
Defenders: Cold Domination, Ice Blast
Masterminds: Storm
Dominators: Stone Control, Electric Assault
Corruptors: Storm, Electric Blast

That's what I remember from the list. So you all don't need to wait till tomorrow. Sorry if someone else has already posted this.

My guess as far as this goes is that Defenders will also get thermal once they've figured out a way to make it's already-insane debuffs (fenders are the debuff kings, no?) even more insane but somehow still balanced. I'd like to see Rad Blast blasters and Fire Blast defenders also, hopefully these will be some of the future additions. I'd also [u]REALLY[u] love to have Dark Miasma controller buffs/debuffs. Plzplzplz!

I mean, if I want a fire/fire melee hero, I could just build a tanker. And if I want an elec/elec melee villain, I could just make a brute.


I'd really love to know what the reasoning behind the choices for these 3 ATs were.

And no, this isn't just whining for the sake of whining. I'm not entirely thrilled with some of the choices they made for the other ATs, but at least with those they're really spreading the love around. Ice controllers get no love while fire controllers do. MMs get only one secondary while brutes get two primaries and a secondary... I get that there are no other pet powerset ATs to share over to MMs, but at least they could have gotten two secondaries to compensate. Still, at least the one set they got they got came from the hero side and wasn't just another villain set.

Meh it isn't a bad choice but I was hoping beyond hope that Archery would make the cut

To clarify the person you quoted, scrappers are getting brute sets, not necessarily tanker sets.

But can you imagine the carnage from a MM with all pets out and hitting fulcrum shift? Plus all your pets speed boosted? The devs have said that they are not ready for MM to get /kin just yet.

Mace/Elec and Ninja/Storm are the only ones I plan on using

Unlike say fire imps that only have one power, fully upgraded MM pets have like 6-10 powers and they're isn't that much of a gap between the end of one attack cycle and the begining of the next

THUS it would not be as powerful a combination as any doom sayer says
