  3. overwhelming force is a placeholder for the new critical strikes ATO set that will be out in i24. finished build ends up with 192.5% recharge. went with assault hybrid (doublehit) and reactive interface for more damage output. ribos are actually some 50++ double combineds i've had sitting around for a few years, so these stats aren't 100% accurate.

  5. i am getting this to every server. wtf are the tools at nc/paragon doing?! i've already been having problems with lag for weeks... now this. and they do nothing but INSIST it's on my end. is this crap on my end too, you jackoffs?! i'm getting EXTREMELY fed up with this game and they're about to lose a very longtime and very loyal customer.

  6. Unlike the OP I have no problems logging in or out. I don't get hit with the lag just standing around doing nothing. It's when I try to type -anything- or try to fight baddies that I get hit with an incredible amount of lag.
  7. I managed to free up nearly 30 gigs on the larger of the two drives, the smaller one is a recovery disc from the OEM and not something I generally mess with at all. I'd clear more if I could, but 30 gigs should give the game plenty of breathing room. Haven't tried it to see if it works better yet, still running Ccleaner and several defragging sweeps. Will advise and thanks for the advice.
  8. Thank you, that may very well be the cause. I'll get rid of some stuff and give both of those programs a whirl and see how things pan out. Will keep ya'll updated. I really hope it's as simple as that.

    I'm having this same exact problem. I get tremendous amounts of lag anytime I try to type or fight. It actually started even before i19 but has gotten worse since then. I have tried setting graphics to minimums, running in safe mode, disabling advanced graphics and trying different graphics levels and installing the most up to date video card drivers. None of this has helped any, infact I think the new drivers actually made the problem worse. Help! Will attach hijackthis data and game advisor info in a reply.

  14. So it seems during this second 2x and free activation that the mapserver either has issues or hates me and a few other people. As posted here, I've been having issues keeping connected since the event started. I still am. It is not just me having this problem, there are atleast two others that are as well as I mention in that post. If you're having problems with lag, rubberbanding, markets/crafting not updating as they should, random disconnects, high packet loss or any other such thing please post on here so we can see how many people are affected.

  16. Original post updated, yet again. I'm not sure if the whole "one post per redname post" applies on this thread or not. Color me very unimpressed with i16, debating ever reactivating my accounts again once this freebie ends. They added nice new features and now nothing else works. Constant lag and random disconnects must be something they added to balance the whole risk versus reward thing, right? Or they might not have anticipated the extra network data of everyone sending everyone else their custom power color data, go go internal network traffic overload!

    The game sure is pretty now, I wish I could actually... you know... play it.
  17. I think this is a great idea and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. Combining these two things gives everyone a chance to taste the changes made with i16, and if they like them keep their accounts going afterwards. Great thinking! The downside... getting mapservered every 5 minutes gives old AND new players bad impressions of the game. I'd like to mention these aren't standard "lag mapservers", these are hard disconnects. They don't go away after a time (atleast for me) and always result in you getting booted. I'm sure NCSoft will respond that it is a problem with the connection on my end, the problem with that logic is it has happened to entire teams I was on at the same time. Something is very wrong here and you guys should seriously look into getting it fixed.

    EDIT: I just re-logged in after posting this and within 30 seconds was mapservered right back out again. This is __EXTREMELY__ frustrating and annoying.

    EDIT2: Asking on the level 50 global channel, which has many many people on it, it seems there are quite a few also experiencing mapservers, lags and rubberbanding. Someone else in my SG is getting the constant hard drops like I am as well. It may be worse for me because I am on a wifi connection and wireless doesn't seem to handle lost packets very well.

    EDIT3: I just PM'd Dark Watcher about this issue with the following: "Hi, sorry to bother you but someone on one of my global channels said you're watching the server performance during the 2x. I just wanted to see if you could take a look at Guardian. There are atleast 3 people being affected by constant random disconnects. Myself (@Torrent, @Godlike), an SG mate of mine (@Pronator, @Miosane) and someone from the Guardian global channel (@Ralas). Others on the Level 50 global channel have mentioned getting mapservers and rubberbanding (I didn't make note of global names). Could you please look into this? It's been happening to me since yesterday but has been much worse the past few hours. Thanks."

    EDIT4: Two days later and the problems are still going on. Apparently people don't check their PMs. SG mate of mine is still also having issues, just as often as I am. I play for 15 minutes, drop. Relog, play 20 more minutes, drop. Relog, play 2 minutes, drop. Relog, play 45 minutes, drop. It is very very irritating and making me not want to play this game even if it is FREE to do so right now! Which is pretty sad. There are strange glitches happening all over in the game, from the market to crafting (making items and having the recipes or salvages not disappear) to power recharge displays sticking. I don't know if it's from lag or the game trying to do too much crap all at once (read: QUIT ADDING MORE FEATURES, they slow everything down). Does anything in CoH work right anymore?

    EDIT5: Well the event is over now for the most part. I had problems staying connected the entire duration of it. I ended up being mapserver dumped and having to relog approximately 500-600 times over the 4 or 5 days, most of the time unable to complete one mission without getting booted. Talk about annoying and frustrating as hell. I sent PMs to Dark Watcher and Positron both regarding the issue and apparently I'm the only one affected. Except I know for a fact that that isn't true, because there were atleast 3 other people on the Guardian channel that reported similar issues. I felt like I was trying to fight against the mapserver (+4 level AV, eh?) just to be able to play the damn game. If this is the "CoH experience" as it should be now, I very likely won't be paying to turn my accounts back on again. If I wanted to pay to be frustrated I'd be dating instead of playing games.

    Don't worry about the defense loss from the crash, worry about 1/5th or 1/4th of your end bar going poof instead. Especially if you, yanno, actually wanna attack stuff.

    I never slot acc in any toons I am IOing out, and with the acc set bonuses I usually don't miss it, even against AVs/GMs I still have little problem hitting. Exceptions being defense based AVs like Capn Mako, though I think it's safe to say most people have trouble hitting him without acc debuffs on him. As for fault I generally don't care much about bosses and lieuts not getting stunned, as long as the minions are out of the fight that's enough mitigation for me. I focus more on damage output, face planting baddies is the best form of mitigation out there last I checked and OG gives you the luxury of wiping out the bosses and lieuts first them mopping up the rest. LotG is all well and good on other toons, but it does nothing to help a dark armor character. Regen is plenty sexy but a waste on a toon with the fattest heal in the game, bar none. My scrapper hits 800 or so per baddie it lands on, a scrapper. With 2 or more he'd go from 1 hp to full, and the tanker version is even more insane. Did your numbers in mids also include the second performance shifter proc in Physical Perfection as well? As I said it would be slotted the same as stamina. Even if it does, a 1.45 end/sec gain with all toggles running is quite respectable considering it doesn't take any accolades/day job mods into account either. You could also take the second slot out of OG and put it in health for a numina proc which would probably make a bigger difference.

    Oh and just an FYI your numbers for physical perfection are wrong too. It's 20% regen and 12.5% recov last time I checked, though I won't be upset if they've adjusted it to 15% either. Your data in your build shows 15% recov. It has been about a week since I was last on test so it's possible.
  20. Wow. You guys are recommending Reactive Armor and Aegis on a dark armor? I thought we were also trying to fix his end hog issues... you aren't going to do it very well with those. As someone with a level 50 spines/dark I can tell you that your main problem will be endurance, especially with an end heavy set like stone melee. The build I've made is designed accordingly, it may not have the resists/defense you were looking for but all the resists and defense in the world won't help when all your toggles drop because you have no blue bar.

    With that said I have tried to keep defense levels in mind with this build so they should be fairly decent. Regarding the procs in the attacks over putting in more damage IOs, the math from many people on the forums has suggested that each damage proc is actually worth 1.5 SOs of damage which is why I've opted for them.

    Build features:
    70% smash/lethal resists
    41% smash/lethal defense
    37% melee defense
    3.54 end/sec recov, 2.11 end/sec consumption (before adding in physical perfection at all, I recommend same slotting as in stamina for it)
    as an added bonus, runspeed hits 108 mph but gets capped at 92.5 with this setup
