Reactivation weekend is supposed to start in 20 minutes, I guess that is why the downtime was longer than expected
Not sure what's going on. A redname posted that the servers are back up, but I still can't log in.
Yes I know myself and quite a bit of others get tired of the "once a week maint" that almost always turns out to be twice a week and for 3 hours or more. How hard would it be for the devs to give us an accurate window on when they will be doing extended maint. I can see an extra 20 mins or so but after an extra hour they should post when they will be expecting them to come up and not leave us in the dark. We do pay their wages and a little insight into when we can play would be nice.

Yup going on 4 hours, I was not aware that allowing old players to reactivate accounts takes 4 hours of the live servers being down.

Maintenance is done by the overnight crew in Ops. No one there is authorized (or probably even has the ability) to make public announcements. Any announcements will come from a Dev or, more properly, a member of the OCR/mod team. Since they all work something resembling normal office hours, that means a *minimum* of 8am Pac/11am Eastern before anything will get posted. Since software companies (especially game companies) frequently run on something a little looser than "9-5", it's not unlikely that there will be no one available to make an announcement until 10Pac/1East.

Obviously, if there are problems with the maintenance, it will last longer. I know that this bugs a lot of people, and that they'd like to get some news on it, but for me, if there are problems, I'd rather the devs be working to fix it rather than have to give the community reps a status update every 15 minutes or so.

If you think something will take two hours, you tell them it'll take 2-4 hours, in case something does go wrong.
Of course, that does nothing for the small crowd of people who think you suck because they want to use the service nooooow, even though you told them in advance that it'd be unavailable for the maintenance window...

You can't tell me you've never gone out to eat at a restaurant and had one server who had great customer service, only to come back at a later date and get a different server who was obviously only there for the paycheck.

I also notice that the reactivation of the accounts does not show yet on the forums ... not sure if the reactivated accounts are reactivated here as well, but I am bored and want to play, so I investigate minor things :-)

Well after 10am central and I can't even log in with my main account. I can't get in with my one that is currently inactive, either.
After one of my attempted log ins, my browser popped up with the log in page for NCSoft, the thing trying to tell me I don't even have an account. That's certainly something I haven't seen the game do before.
