tried using /macro "powexec_name hasten$$powexec_name hasten" to get it to activate automatically with no luck.

this wouldn't be an issue if my statis protection wasn't also a clicky and more important. I would appreciate any help i could get with getting around this

I'm trying to macro:

/macro t "targetcustomnext teammate$$powexec_name Speed Boost"

No dice, it only switches targets w/o applying the SB. Help?

You can set a power to auto-activate by CTRL+Left-clicking on the tray icon.

But if you want a bind so you don't have to have an icon on your tray, you could use a bind instead.

However, you're using the wrong slash command (guide needs updating; I blame myself wasting time in my base ). Your bind should look something like this:

/bind F "powexec_auto hasten"

This will toggle/ detoggle auto-activation on Hasten.

You could do the same thing with a macro:

/macro AutoH "powexec_auto hasten"

But you wouldn't be able to see if Hasten is in auto-activate mode in either case without a Hasten icon in your tray tab. Just depends on your preference.

I can click it just as fast as I can, and it just switches targets fast as it can. It doesnt seem to matter the order either. It also doesnt seem to work if i try it with powexectoggleon instead of powexec_name. I'm stumped

problem is, practiced brawler is already on auto, but, i'd like to find a way to have hasten on auto as well...just had no luck as of yet

As far as I am aware, that is unfortunately not possible.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to set more than one power to auto.

TEASE: The best you can do is a "text bind" or "toggle bind". I've used this:

TEAMSELECT1.TXT
Y "+down$$-down$$targetcustomnext teammate$$bindloadfile c:\coh\edbinds\teamselect2.txt"

TEAMSELECT2.TXT
Y "+down$$-down$$powexecname speed boost$$bindloadfile c:\coh\edbinds\teamselect1.txt"

This hits teammates with Speed Boost, but just substitute the power name for whatever power you like.

MALANOMA: We can only have 1 power on auto at any time... however, you can create a bind that switches the "auto" onto another power and back... kind of like a toggle, using text binds. This might be helpful, depending on the recharge time of each power, but is probably not very useful.

I have a sweet bind on my Tanker that rotates 6 phrases and activates Taunt. Trouble is, I took a 6 month break from the game and cannot remember how I did it. I want to do something similiar for my stalker's AS. Can anyone help a brother out?

I think this is *solved* never mind.

And by *solved* I mean I think my entire premise was wrong - that you use numbers 1-2-3-4 regardless of the tray number *as long as it's the Primary tray*.

Duh.


My first Kheld and I'm having some issues.

I want to be able to have 3 trays open (#1 for Human form, #2 for Nova, #3 for Lobster), but still be able to use the keys 1-2-3-4 to fire off my attacks, regardless of what form I'm in.

Right now if I switch to Nova form I have to drag the powers from tray 2 to tray 1 to avoid having to press alt+<number> to activate the power.

If I switch to Lobster form I have to drag the powers from tray 3 to tray 1 to avoid having to press ctrl+<number> to activate the power.

Am I making sense?

I want a bind/binds/macros that will make tray #2 become tray #1 while I'm in Nova form, and tray #3 become tray #1 while I'm in Lobster form.

I know there are binds that switch forms and bring up the appropriate tray - that's not what I need. I need to be able to fire off the powers in tray slots 1-2-3-4 using keys 1-2-3-4, regardless of whether it's an alternate tray or the primary tray.

Dunno if this is even possible.

Is there a way to setup a bind that would target a specific player? Like if I wanted to just hit "b" to heal player named billy.

you should be able to do a /bind <key> "targetname Billy$$powexec_name Heal Other"

you want to have your Squid look like this:

and have your Lobster Look like this:

If that's the case you should be able to do something like:

G "powexec_toggleon bright nova$$goto_tray 2$$goto_tray_alt 1$$goto_tray_alt2 3"
B "powexec_name white dwarf$$goto_tray 3$$goto_tray_alt 1$$goto_tray_alt2 2"
H "powexec_toggleoff bright nova$$powexec_toggleoff white dwarf$$goto_tray 1$$goto_tray_alt 2$$goto_tray_alt2 3"

I haven't tested it and you are still subject to the power activation changes in i13, but this should work for you.

In case you didn't know about this, you can find out what your binds are for that previous toon by doing:

/bindsavefile <FileName>

The file will get dropped into the Data directory under your CoH directory. just open the file in notepad and look up the one you're interested in.

If you did, then at least someone else trolling the boards that may be curious will have an answer for how to look up old binds they have

I muddled through this stuff as best I could, but couldn't find something that tickles my memory from the old bind thread.

Isn't there a command that attaches specifically to the downpress and/or release of a key?

What I'm looking to do is activate Build-Up on the downpress and activate Aim on the release of the same key.

I haven't heard of any command like this..I don't believe thats possible.

I'm trying to find the bind that will let me bind multiple powers to 1 button and go through the powers as I press the button for example...

I had this on my Fire/Kin for a while but took it off Numpad 1-3, they all would find their imp with the first press of the button, then speed boost the imp with the second press and then ID the imp with the third press of the button.

What I am trying to do this for is I have seen a lot of people complaining about the game not being controller friendly (controller as in remote controller) and I am out to prove them wrong.

So far the xbox 360 controller is set up fine except the power binding part, I want to bind X and B with 2 different attack chains and y for BU or Hasten, then the D-Pad with be travel or powers less needed to be easily accessble.

Anyways thanks to any help I get.

As to my previous line of thought regarding having one power activate on the downpress and another on the relase, I discovered that it doesn't quite work the way I had been thinking. It is possible to use multiple powexec_toggleon & toggleoff commands in one string, but it usually means holding down the key for your second power. It also only seems to work with toggle powers NOT click powers (as far as I can tell). When used with click powers it will simply queue up the last power in the string over and over and over.

I found this tidbit of info in another thread:

The short explanation of the + and ++ prefixes is that they represent how persistently the command will be carried out. Most of these keybindings represent "press and fire" commands -- that is, you press down on the button and the action will be performed once, until the button is pressed again.


With a "+" prefix the command will be carried out for as long as the button is pressed down, and ceases as soon as the button is no longer being pressed. For example, the default binding for the w key is +forward. For as long as the w key is pressed down your character will continue moving forward... but as soon as the button is no longer being pressed, the character stops moving.


With a "++" prefix the command will be toggled "on" and will continue to be activated until the button is pressed again, toggling it "off." If the w key were bound to ++forward, pressing the w key once would cause the character to move forward, and that character would continue to move forward until the w key were pressed again.


Any command that has a + prefix can work with a ++ prefix, and vice versa. This can lead to some redundant commands. For example, ++forward works exactly the same as ++autorun -- you run until you turn the command off.




Through trial and error, I've formed the following theory on how the "+" modifier works in binding.


The "+" modifier has two behaviors.


Behavior one: at all times when "+" is prepended to a command, it is the same as doing "command 1". Obviously this only works correctly on commands that take 1 or 0 as input. When other commands are prepended with it, it adds the 1 to the end of the arguments, and gives an error. This behavior is mirrored by the "-" modifier, which yields argument 0.


Behavior two: ( Only when directly in the bind.. in other words this does not work when made a macro which you then bind to a key! )when prepended to the first command in a bind (assuming that command is one that works with it, ie takes 1/0 argument), it gives the entire bind statement a "press/unpress" behavior. This means two things:


* a) the command prepended with the "+" turns on (aka is given argument 1) when you press the key as you would expect per behavior 1. Additionally it turns off (argument 0) when you unpress the key
* b) the rest of the commands in the bind are performed once when you press the key, and again when you unpress it


Note that this behavior is not mirrored by the "-" modifier.. it might be nice if it did at least the first part, ie turn a command off when you press the key and back on when you unpress, but it doesn't.


The secondary behavior of the "+" in binds makes several useful things possible. Especially when you realize that the first command doesn't always have to do something, since you can always override it with a "-" form of it elsewhere in the bind. For instance a simple yet very useful bind for fly which makes you fly only while you hold down "f":

* /bind f "+up$$-up$$powexec_name Fly"



Another behavior can be achieved by exploiting the "overwrite" effect of powers (aka if several powers are entered one after the other in a bind, only the last one will go off in most cases). A very useful binding for getting out of melee range quickly with hover is:

* /bind v "+up$$powexec_name Hover$$powexec_name Hover"


This makes you jump and then hover up in the air just out of melee range. Note the doubling up of the hover power.. this is because if you only have it once in the bind, it will turn hover on when you press it and off when you let go (usually.. sometimes the hover from press and hover from unpress go through together and one gets overwritten, but this is rare).


Why doesn't it turn on/off quickly when you press it and on/off quickly when you let go if you enter it twice? Because of the power overwrite effect.. while it is busy doing the jump when you press the button down, both hovers go through and the second overwrites the first, resulting in hover being turned on. When you let go, it stops the jump and both hovers go through, turning hover off and back on very quickly (before you drop) resulting in you being left in hover mode. This causes a bit of spam to your combat messages window, but it's worth it. Note: the differing behavior here (ie overwrite happening on press but not on unpress) I believe is due to the interaction between commands and powers on timing in a bind, but this is just a guess.

Anyone know if it's possible to use binds for location aoe click powers? For example using lightning rod for my Brute. It often takes me a second or so to find my mouse pointer on the screen before I can select the ground in front of me. Ideally I'd like it to just fire off like a pbAoe power.

Works the same way as executing any power as far as I know. do the normal powexec_name Lightning Rod

Clicking that bind will make the circle thing that you use to pick the location appear without having to click the power tray.

Seems im a either a noobler or just too lazy to read all of this and try to understand it all. But if anyone is willing to give me a bind that makes me ...

Use superspeed when i move (automatically turns on when i run) If i jump it turns off superspeed and turns on fly, and if i jump again it turns off fly. (and again turns on superspeed if i am moving.

If this person is on virtue im also willing to pay 5 million influence for this.
