People who are complaining about everybody having CoH and CoV... stop complaining. You got one month of playtime with purchase of CoV. Overall, it's good news. Perhaps villainside will get some more exposure with the people who only got City of Heroes, and didn't get Villains. Villainside is mostly neglected, while on hero side, I can find a team at any level range...

If they had told you in a year and half you will get base access and CoV free....Ya still would have ran out and bought it...You have a leg up on prestige and toon building than people who will get it for free now...

AGAIN...That wasnt a NC Soft call it was Cryptic so if you want a refund...I suggest ya hit up the Cryptic forums.

Ok, so what about those of us that shelled out the money for CoV? Do we get some kind of special bonus for that? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that we're getting presents (yay no debt!) but that rubs me the wrong way.

Money Money Money.. Yep.. Thats what makes me nervous.. I am all for Moving ahead. But... My fear is a little company cares for it's creation.. A big one cares for it's profit margin.

As I understand it CoX is a big thing for NCSoft.. Good for them.. I am happy they are able to cut out a middle man.

Am happy about this.. Well the better question is.. Does it matter? NCSoft has the ball. Guess we just have to sit back and see if they can carry it.

THINK ABOUT IT GUYS

Cryptic is doing Marvel and it will become a conflict of interest if they keep COX

Marvel probably pushed them to sell so they can do things "better" than COX and not have to go back and help COX get better too. THis is not to say COX will be as good or better than Marvel but marvel will see Marvel as better etc.

Exactly. I am really pissed about this, there needs to be some form of compensation for those who did buy both games. Like maybe a free month or2 or something because this is totally unfair to those who spent their hard earned money on both games.

Ok, guys, LH and Ex have explained out that this is a VERY GOOD THING. This allows a streamlining of implementation of game features. Rather than 1 party creating & testing, then have to have it rechecked, it can get produced and sent to us faster.

The subscription money now goes solely to NCSoft NorCal, so that means the $ for COX goes to COX.

We are getting the Devs that have made this game awesome in the last year and a half.

Again, this is a GREAT thing.

I think if you look at CoX history and who has treated us as customers and who has treated us as guests in their show that we are paying for...Its undeniable that NC Soft and the Devs have carried the ball to the best of their ability under their restrictions.

How long ago did you do it?

I bought COH a few years ago. COV when it came out. I don't expect anything. I wouldn't *argue* if they gave me something, but IMHO the only people who should get some sort of compensation are those who bought seperately, picking up the "other half" within, oh, the last month.

Hell, I bought the COH DVD Edition and COV CE. Bought the COV CE *twice,* in fact. I'm not pissed at all. I got to play *both,* with 12 slots per server, since COV's release. I think that's been pretty cool - and now there won't be any artificial barriers to things like SG entry for *anyone.*

I know I'm late, but the vast majority of the current coh/v crew jumped to NCSoft to continue working on coh/v. We've apparently only lost Statesman.

They stay and are in an even better position because they now work for the same studio that the dev team does.

There is no longer an artificial barrier of NCSoft => Cryptic => NCSoft to deal with.

Though I suspect that the devs/former Cryptic team have known for a bit and maybe even that gave them a bit more freedom to do things.

Agreed. People can go ahead and feel screwed if they want, but I've been enjoying this game for years, I don't expect compensation, just continual support for the game I enjoy.

We at Comics Haven wish NCSoft the best of luck with City of Heroes. Here's hoping they push it to be even better.

Did anyone promise you it would never be free thing??? Did anyone promise you that no matter how long you wait...It will never be free...

There are no broken promises here...No one held a gun to your head to buy it...AGAIN...how many of you would have bought it anyway if you knew it would be free in 2 years?? You would have waited two years (approx) ??


Its NC Soft saying hey we think it bites that people had to pay for this and WE arent going to make them...
