Hello RP'rs, Storytellers and Writers!

Converted_Clock and myself are working towards the first gamewide Super Olympics. We will be hosting the Winter Olympics 2008. We have a terrific group of people working on making this event amazing in every way.

What we need is a good writer who would work with the awesome folks on The City Scoop as our liason. We will have a specifc sports page type of coverage of the Olympics. The Scoop Staff has been gracious enough to provide with the space we need..

The type of articles we would be looking for are just what you see in the papers during actual Olympics. Human intrest pieces both in character and out. Event coverage. Anything your imagination can come with as long as it relates to the Olympics both hero and villian..

By that logic you were owed money long before now as CoH and Cov dropped in price from when they were first launched..

I guess if you knew the price would go down you wouldnt have spent your hard earned money on it...


Ok if you want compensation so badly give up any of the slots you used in upgrading any prestige or base building youve done since you purchased it...because you dont get it both ways..

I think if you look at CoX history and who has treated us as customers and who has treated us as guests in their show that we are paying for...Its undeniable that NC Soft and the Devs have carried the ball to the best of their ability under their restrictions.

All the more reason to be happy about the change...That decision was made by Cryptic not NC Soft...It was all about more money for Cryptic..

While I can understand the disgruntled'ness...at having wasted money...If you did invest in CoV for Base Access you ahead of the game in prestige and Base knowledge than those who will be just starting...try to look at the bright side and realize it wasnt NC Soft who made that call..

Jack is all about Marvel and Microsoft now is my understanding. Cryptic is his baby.

Think of it this way...

All the things that the Devs have made mention of ..They wish they could do this or they wish they could do that....Will most likely start happening..


We are no longer subject to States "Vision" of the game..

NC Soft is global where as Cryptic is regional...They will be looking to invest much more money into the game...More marketing etc etc etc...

All those things that we asked ourselves ..Why wont the Devs do this or that ...and the answer was..They didnt want to spend the time or money....Stand a better chance of getting done...

Ex and LH are NC Soft..

This is nothing but good for coh players..

Im not surprised at all..The writing on the wall was there..I couldnt be happier!

True Story. Unfortunately only a small percentage of the people who are in any Beta realize that.

I think that the smugness mentioned is a fact . I think if you see such behavior you should report it.

The community and testing well it does kinda go hand in hand..

1. The testers tend to form their own community during testing. Thats just the nature of the beast. Anyone who treats that as some "Im with the cool kids" kind of thing ..proally has never been a cool kid and never will be. From my experiences in past beta. Those people tend to be weeded out because when they get in there they act the fool rather than providing anything useful. Trust me when I say that the Devs dont want to know your name unless you have something truely useful to add during that crazy time...They dont want to hear "Hey wouldnt be cool if you did this"

2. The overall community is where the testers come from and that plays a big part because while LH and ExL can never openly or even behind the scenes have "favorites" there are people who are time and time again helpful. If your a pain in their collective dev derriers on the open forums your proally not going to be a top pick going in...Thats not to say they only want kiss ups in there..But they do have a job to do..



Im not really sure if LH's posts/updates are helpful or not...I know his heart is in the right place, but it just seems to stir up the "nah nah nah" attitude of some.


I guess what Im trying to say is that for testing purposes a diverse sample of the community is a good thing, but trying to achieve that through quantity is extremely counter productive...and if someone is being a complete pompass jerk hinting or taunting about being in Beta...dont let it get to you or report it ...Its really no big deal and they are obviously in need of some self esteem...


I have to say that having "beta" as a prize for contests is kinda adding to the misconception that its a priveledged ..hey I won the lottery kind of thing..Rather than a business thing...(It was a really great idea in theory)
