The community team will definitely be there, and would like to start planning some events and activities around our community members in the area.

We are currently investigating venues to do a "Meet & Greet" event one night during the conference.

So if anyone from the area has an idea about a great location for NCsoft and our City of Heroes/City of Villains community to meet together and share an evening of fun and activities please post your suggestion here.

Otherwise you can PM or email me at exlibris@ncsoft.com.

Well, what did you have in mind? Ballroom at a hotel? A resteraunt? Bar? Public Park?

I live here in Indy, what do you want me to find out?

Can I suggest you move 625 miles East and do a meet and greet in Allentown, PA? Otherwise - *insert sobs here* I... CAN'T... GOOOOOOOOO! *sniffle, sniffle*

Try Gillian's or the RAM Brewery, Ex -- they're both large, within walking distance of the convention center and welcome gamers with open arms.

Any chance of doing a COH/COV event in the computer gaming area? How about run a TF with a dev?

Gillian's sucks, I've never had a good time there.

The RAM Brewery would be good, except for those 20 and under...

AUUUUGH! I'll be back in my beloved Indiana at the beginning of July and the beginning of September! Why must my timing always suck? WHY?!

Woot....I live just outside of Indy. I will definately be there.

Ill make sure to tell my RL friends to take off work as well and come stay with me for the weekend. Maybe I can get "Fatty McBlaster" to come down as well.

Fatty is my best friend that got hit with lightning during a storm here at work. **He has made an almost full recovery btw**

As far as a place to meet for some fun activities....Ill have to get back to ya. Cant just think about bars and drinking because that excludes the 20 year old and under.

Many posibilities......Rec. Centers, Arcades, parks, etc.....

Endless places with fantastic food.

Go to this con! I beg!

The Ram is packed during Gen Con. Really packed. Try Rock Bottom or another place. BTW, the Ram has a part where the under 21 can eat and so does Rock Bottom. Please not Friday night too. I have dinner with the head of Gen Con and other guests.

I'll second the Allentown, PA suggestion since I only live in Hackettstown NJ, which is only about 45 min to an hour away.

pretty much all of downtown is packed during GenCon.

there's the Rathskeller and their beirgarten up there near the Murat at the corner of Michigan and Massachusetts, but I don't know if they restrict the beirgarten to 21 and up or not. it's a nice large outdoor area, though, pretty well suited for a large get-together.

Erm, yeah, but he's not going to be here in August now, is he? hence, my solution to him not being able to hit GenCon is to hit Incon, which, while ALOT smaller, and not about gaming does offer open bar room parties to those over 21. And if he goes, I promise to talk about CoX with him while we drink ourselves silly.

Oh, and I had a brainstorm. Most restaraunts have an area for groups that can be closed off for private functions. I KNOW there's a Ponderosa on 38th and Moller that has a HUGE one (like 1/2 their restaraunt), and I know the managers, PLUS, who doesn't like steak?

Oh, and it's only 10 min from the convention center via 65N.

Well, since the Slippery Noodle is a bar, I guess I could suggest the Hard Rock Cafe. They have a room in the back that could be reserved/rented out (?). Don't know how much it is, but I could get the details and forward them to you, Ex.

Or maybe Jillian's? Never been in there, but I have been to the one up in Minneapolis. The one here has nine lanes of bowling, something called the "Groove Shack" on the third floor.

Wherever it's at, I'll be there. I'll be right in the middle of buying my first home and moving in, but I missed the chance to hang with Cricket last year and I'm not missing out on the party this year.

Count me in!

Any chance that, while you're there, you guys can strongarm Eden Studios into updating their CoHRPG site?

Their last update was June 5, 2006.

Hey Pollution I'm in greenfield. I think we should be able to throw something together.

Alot of Gen-cons here alot of local interest so should be cool.
Keep us updated please.

There is a camp ground/ rec center 15 miles east. Can rent halls very cheap and I'd even be willing to grill or whatever.

This is going to be such fun. Jr wants in also so can we try to make at least the 1st part available for all ages.

I believe he can get into Jillains until 8. They had a sweet game room a top circle center but been a couple years is that still there?

Now that's an idea...

Eagle Creek Park has a TON of space that we could use, and it's not far from downtown at all.

OR (god forbid) we could just set something up in the big blue room down the road walking distance in the park (big blue room to tech geeks = outside).

It's a lovely park, and getting an event set up there is cake. I'm talking about the one next to the Native American Museum.

Also, I rent space from IUPUI quite often, and that's walking distance, if you want to do something there, I can get space for us in that capacity. And most likely for free (I run a student union, so I get free campus space for events). It would have to be on a Saturday though, if you wanted campus space.

The best spots on campus for something like this is only about 10 min by foot from the convention center.

crew that big blue room idea LOL

I've went to great end to keep my pasty white complexion so there

All great ideas...How can we get numbers on how much room we'll need?

Note to MODS we have willing helpers already at ground zero.
If we can assist in any way myself and I believe Pollution are game.

Been in Indy area for about 12 years so know it prettty well.

I'll help too. I live about 2 hours North of Indy now, but I grew up in southern Indiana and spent the vast majority of my weekends in the capital city.

I would have to agree to Gillian's. they do have some private rooms up in the arcade area (if a private room is needed). I think it would be a bit unfair to have it at a 21 and over bar to those who are not 21 and over. The nice thing about Gillian's is they do have alcohol for those who want it, even on the huge arcade area there is a bar right in the middle.
Anyway, my $.02.
I will post other ideas here if I come up with any.

I third the motion.....Gillians sounds good.

Just though I would mention this for those who dont have the money to spend on a hotel....I have room for 2 at my house if anyone that is traveling is interested. Its just my Wife, myself and my 1 year old daughter. We live about 30-40 mins outside of indy, not too long of a drive. I will be attending this as well so we could carpool or follow one another.

Me casa es Su casa

Dont be afraid to ask or PM me in-game.....Im not a killer
(or email me at.... thagamer05@msn.com)

Cant wait for this to get underway.....just cant believe that they would pick INDY outta all the places in the US? Maybe its because we all have nothing better to do outside of Indiana Beach and Santa Claus Land?
