GenCon (Indy) August 16-19
Those of us that got in on the third (or fourth) sign up...has anything changed from the TBA status?
I tried getting in on the original notice, but in the 30 minutes from the announcement on the forums to me actually getting to the original sign up got....no sign up available.
Still planning on being in the area, and have my TBA sign up.
So, if you see someone walking the floor on Saturday the 18th with an Orange Ziggurart shirt....that is me.
Sometimes, I impress my boss. Sometimes, I impress myself. The rest of the time, I scare people. I can live with that.
Event details are as follows:
Date: August 18th from 6pm 10pm Eastern Time
Venue: Alcatraz Brewing Company Walking distance from the Convention Center.
Link to Venue: http://www.alcatrazbrewing.com/Alcatraz/Indy/map.html
Reminder: You must have a photo ID and/or email confirmation to enter the event.
Can I bring a guest or do they have to register too?
oh, and FPAARN!
News from the road!
Well today was the first day of GenCon and so far there has been a brilliant showing of COH/COV community.
I was able to visit with members of Earthguard from Champion, our Pinnacle boys were there in full representation, and others from Virtue, Freedom, Justice, Triumph, and Infinity.
I have pictures to share and names as well but I am just waiting until I can upload them here to share with y'all back home.
It's been a pleasure hanging out with Cuppa and she sends her regards.
Tomorrow night there is an unofficial gathering at Hard Rock Cafe on South Meridian at 7:45, we have arranged for anyone wishing to patronize the restaurant to get exclusive seating with all COH/COV community. Cuppa and I will be there to sit and visit and I am really looking forward to getting to know people a bit better.
Everything has been great about the trip so far, and even my luggage managed to make it in the end... a true case of better late than never.
Clean clothes FTW!
I hope all is well for those in Paragon.
Will write more later.
Regards,
Ex
I don't get back from Canada until the night of the 19th...
But it's only a freakin' hour from my house...
Troy Hickman - So proud to have contributed to and played in this wonderful CoH universe
I'm here in my room, just getting ready to head over to the Hard Rock Cafe and have some dinner with all the COH/COV folks that stopped by the booth today.
So far I am having alot of fun even though I haven't been able to spend much time outside our booth, I did get to sneak away and meet Feedback the Season 1 winner of "Who Wants to be a Superhero." Feedback was really nice and he also was very happy to hand out some free COH/COV trials at his signature booth.
Have to run, will write more later.
Regards,
Ex libris
P.S. Don't worry I'll take plenty of pictures!
I'm here in my hotel (near the airport), after leaving the M&G.
Ex, Cuppa, Robin, Artic, et.al., we're gracious and congenial hosts and fun was had by all.
Well, at least by me.
Fun times.
Sometimes, I impress my boss. Sometimes, I impress myself. The rest of the time, I scare people. I can live with that.
I got to meet Jaaaaaaaaaanweeeeee.
-Runs and hides.-
I must say NC soft has been awsome here in indy, I have had a ball with them. My group got to go to the Hard Rock to the unofficial meet and greet and cuppa and ex are awsome, there is no way that I can say enough good things about them. And last night we got to go to the official nc soft meet and greet to meet some of the other crew, I did not get around to talk to them very much but all seemed very nice, and they showed us a good time, so thanks to all of you.

It was great meeting with the NCSoft folks and finally putting a face with the names I see on these boards, everyday.
It was a fun getting together and I hope to do it, again, next year. Keep up the good work.
Also, Arctic Sun, remember that overcoming my workplace boredom depends on you!
Yep, NCSoft folks were great. Had a good time and tried out some of the other games.
Showed up in costume, the group of us did, but had to leave before that guy dinged 50 for the first time in three years, but we were rooting for him nonetheless. (After all, I'm about 30 months and I don't have a 50 yet.)
Ex was quite gracious.
Thanks to the whole staff for helping make this year's Gen Con what it was, fun.
The meet and greet was AWESOMESAUCE!
And those that went to the White Wolf party on Saturday saw CuppaJoe in a very new light.
Unfortuneately, that open bar thing has caused me to STILL be hung over after 24 hours.
Oh my head....
The Hard Rock and the Alcatraz parties were definitely the awesomesauce!!! It was great to meet people from the forums and to see what a great community we really have. Special thanks to Ex Libris, Cuppa Jo (who will always be a part of this community in my book) and Actic Sun for everything they did for the community next year. You gals and guy are the greatest.
Btw, if anyone has pics from Satruday at the booth, please send me a PM if you can email them to me. (story on this coming soon(tm) ).

You totally should have submitted this to the Scoop.
Nicely done.

I had said something similar in another post not too long ago, but basically this: It was by far one of the greatest times I have had in my life. To meet so many people and to make so many new friends, its going to keep me real busy making alts on everyone's home servers
To the Cryptic crew -- you know how to make people feel right at home. It was like having meet long lost friends you never knew you had.
For the local people here with me in Indy, hope we can get together sometime again. For those that made the distance, looking forward to battling side by side in City of Heroes (or Villains). Who knows, might make the distance myself to visit!

We loved meeting you guys to, it was great fun!! Hopefully we will all get a chance to team together!!
To my knowledge, I didn't have any SG-mates at the meet-and-greet. (and if I did, they were being very sneaky...)
That said, I'll just repeat the common sentiment that it was great meeting everyone and I look forward to teaming with you guys in-game!
