Rats! I didn't list Support as folks I would want to see but, now that I think about it, that would be great! We could play "Show the QA guys your bug"! If you add something to the Known Issues list, you get a little gold star fake-tattoo. If it's a problem with your PC, you can pay the QA guy $50/hr to fix it for you! (Cruicial will be one of those 3rd Party Vendors, and they will be right there with a whole sack full of memory sticks.) Most profitable con evah!

I too would like to snag some of those nice badges.

Also, my 50 is on Justice, the OTHER home server

Mainly playing on Victory atm.

And next time, include something like "Nomad" for server choice, as some people really don't have a home server.

I know a couple people with fifties on more than three servers, for example.

You guys should do it in Indianapolis, Indiana. Several reasons why.

Central location in the US. Most travel arrangements will bring you either directly to or VERY close to Indy. (plane, bus, I70, I65, ect...)
Cheaper than Chicago. For every dollar you spend in Indy you'd spend 2 or more in Chicago.
More hotel space than Chicago, and thus, cheaper rates.
More Convention areas. As a city, Indy is used to big conventions, (Star Wars Celabrations, GenCon, Indy500, HUNDREDS more...).
Indy is used to seeing an influx of people for events (see above).
Oh, and Jack's In-Laws live here, so Mrs. Statesman can see mom and dad. And when Mrs. Statesman is happy, EVERYBODY's happy.
Oh, and of course, the best reason....Cause I live there. And I'm poor and want to go, I can afford a 20 min drive.

But yeah, Indy is centrally located, it's cheap, lots of space for cons and lots of hotels.

I would like to see a panel disscussion where we can talk about our gripes, concerns, and hope for the game, BUT it would have to not be a smoke and mirrors meeting, meaning that we give you our suggestions, good or bad,and you do not flush them the moment the event is over(not saying you would)
yes there will be some Neg talk about the game, but if it is constructive you should get it,if all you are looking for is us to stroke your ego and tell you how wonderful you are,it would be a waste of time.

And if all you're looking for is to vent your spleen about things you don't like I think it would be a waste of time too. If you want them to go into it with an open ear and an open mind then you have to do the same. Be ready to listen to what they have to say, because they're the people who do the actual job and know the actual info, you know?

well i plan on only giving a few polite suggestions, yes some people will vent their spleens,
but it is 1000X harder to ignore a question face to face, than to hide behind a posting, questions like "why is grandville still so laggy?,when do you forsee upgrading a the PPU support(severalrevs behind right now),when do you see COP being fixed? do you every see co-op zones happening for COx?

will X bug be fixed?what ever happend to adding a new starting zone in COV? similr to galaxy to atlas?
and other such questions,or any idea when we wil be allow to start some villians in COH or heros in COV?epic AT for Villians when?OR questions like I have a super duper system, with all the great specs,8800,duel cores, high speed cable, why is my framerate so low?,what system specs do you guys use ?many patches ago we used to have another row of insperations, you deleted them due to design problem, its been years now can we get them back?

you spend so much time preventing us from tweening between chars, and yet we keep asking for it,why not give in and let us do it?

things like that

But pretty much all those issues are addressed in various forms right here. In interviews, redname posts in threads, and in PM's. Try a pm now and again... they often work.

For your computer issues - check the technical forums. It's not their job to help you straighten out your computer, but it can easily be helped by other fans.

*shrug* I'd never want to subject the team to a bunch of venting. A good question and answer session yes - but not for things that they've already gone over a hundred times.

Anyone who would possibly be interested in attending GenCon this summer, send me a PM. I'm thinking about trying to get a group of Forumites together if the draw is large enough.

o.o;; I find it odd that Virtue and Guardian seem to be fielding the most Forumites right now.. that aside, by "third party venders" in that one section... does this mean there's a chance that the long abandoned CoH merchandising scheme might finally be seeing the light of day?!!

If you know or are someone who can go pigg diving to get hte original art files, and convert them into a tiff, you canb easily make the game badges.

This is a really good idea and one I've agreed with in the past.

I'd love to hear Statesman or Positron talk about where things are going and to show off some things that might otherwise be months away, or to be able to talk about why certain decisions were made (at a high level, of course, and not open for debate - that's what the forums are for!).

Oh, and I'd like to second that this get held in Australia. Hooray for group business trips!

The problem with moving to other states for conventions, and for specific cons for games like this, is that it's *very* expensive to run a convention. Those that are run on a shoestring budget for small town areas often are held in small, grungy or badly maintained hotels - like one poster complained about (though frankly no large scale convention has any of those worries, and hasn't for years). In order to make the venture worth doing, it has to be in a place which will attract the most people for their budget.

3 large scale conventions far outweigh 6 or 8 small ones, for that reason. Local cons rarely get the attention you'd imagine they would. It's a shame but it's usually true. It's sort of why there are in fact the big 3 or 4 cons every year in the USA. But even Worldcon is very, very small compared to the others, and it travels and is rather hard to afford for that reason too.

I had a lot of fun meeting Cuppa, Alexa, Awry, and Arctic at the original Austin event. Although I didn't talk to him, I drifted by BillZ, met Solarexx, and a couple other Austin players, and a good time was had by all. Alexa and Awry taught me how to play the CoH CCG, and it was a LOT of fun seeing CoH played in a big LAN environment. Perhaps the best thing was the schwag; I made out with a bunch of CCG cards, extra comic books, a CoV t-shirt I still occasionally wear, as well as a CoH "bootleg edition" disc or two, which resulted in a new subscriber (two actually, since my recruit recruited another friend).

How cool would it be to run a hami raid with everyone in the room?

Well, there we have it folks. That's like four people who have said Indianapolis. Everyone knows that by using percentages, this means that over 3/4 of the forums want it to be in Indianapolis.

There is absolutely no way you can argue with this logic. I'm a genius. I took one of the online internet IQ tests and it said so.
