A simple thank you to Cryptic AND friends!

Cryptic and friends, this one's for you. I've been getting more and more psyched for Issue 9 not just to the promotions, but mostly thanks to you all making these threads so ALIVE!

Community Digest: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...=0#Post7401350

Dev Digest: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...e=0#Post312062

Now, I haven't exactly earned any 'bug hunting' badges or directly participated that much in this myself (forums included, sadly), I'm the first to admit, but I could easily see the efforts being made by both the community and you guys in the past months. I've been eagerly checking back here multiple times a day just to see the fun new goings on in the training room, the offices of Cryptic and what not, and I simply have to applaud the marvelous job you have all done on Issue 9 but more importantly how WELL and fluidly you all seem to have worked with our lucky community.

To be honest, the thought of it has almost brought a tear to my eye.

You guys have always worked with the community in the past, more so than other dev teams, but this has really taken the cake this time around, due in no small part to the likes of Lighthouse, Ex Libris, etc, as well as Cryptic. A thousand thanks to you all!!!

You can be sure *I* won't be unsubscribing, if not for the game (which I love dearly), then for your humble coordination with our lucky community, and the resulting FIERCE PRIDE I have in Cryptic now!!! (*more* so than before )

So thank you, Cryptic and friends!! YOU are our heroes!!

Say it with me, people!!

CRYPTIC!! CRYPTIC!!!

CRYPTIC!!!!!

Talk like that sees Cryptic raise the subscription price.

It is only through cold, cynical dissection of all development decisions followed by firebrand rhetoric and borderline flaming that the devs know that they are truely appreciated. Why else would you be a developer if you didn't want every decision you made widely discussed as being "obviously wrong" at the very least?

Just kidding. :-) Communication from the devs / CMs for this issue has been fantastic.

War_Witch, you realize your simple acknowledgement of cookies is going to make this thread reach 5000 views/flame status?

Do you guys get any type of a break after the release of an Issue or are you like any other business where employees schedule their earned vacation time?

It just seems since you are in a creative environment, continuing the 8 to 5 shift immediately after accomplishing a major goal could have a negative impact on those creative juices.

Either way, you deserve a break.

Just like any other business where you schedule your vacation time. It's business as usual starting right away on the next one once the previous issue is done.

Good question.

she is of course not mentioning the mandatory Friday staff meeting held 3 hours before quiting time in the local bar with a 5 tequila shot minimum where they play pool to decide what to tweak next.
last ball on the table decides it.

1 ball - Defenders
2 ball - Blasters
3 ball - Tankers
4 ball - Controllers
5 ball - Kheldians
6 ball - Scrappers
7 ball - no nerfs lets do something completly different.
8 ball - Regeneration (you had to know it was this one)
9 ball - something that neither side knows what to do with
10 ball - double or nothing, next game last two balls on the table get it.
11 ball - Stalkers
12 ball - Masterminds
13 ball - Dominators
14 ball - Corruptors
15 ball - Brutes

then they flip a coin to decide on nerfs or buffs. if they lose the coin they have to work on QoL stuff.

You guys rock - keep up the good work and great communications

Any pencil & paper game where I've used random methods like that to determine how to make things go...has always been awesome.

I sense that your technique may work better than you realize...

I've got to say, Issue 9 has made CoH a heck of a lot more addictive.

Good job!

Thank you devs for a wonderful 3 years!

An MMO based on superheroes not in an already established franchise? I'm so there!

Keep those creative juices flowing! If need be, I'll stop by with an Adrenaline Boost!

Thank you very much! You guys & girls are great! Thanks for all the hard work on your writing, coding, artwork, etc.!!!!
