So... What's the deal on the costumes? Are we supposed to look like ourselves? Are we supposed to BE ourselves?

Or our heroes' RP/Concept alter egos?

Quoted from one of Jester's posts about the party:

Last year everyone was asked by the CoH Staffers to show up in their Silver Age costumes. This year w00t and the CoH Staff are asking that everyone come in their secret identity!

I can't COUNT how many times its been brought up on these forums and in game how people want to have their secret identities and use them. Well here's your chance!

Devote a costume slot for the evening to a secret identity and make sure you try and make it look like your character in plain clothes (ie, keep the same face, tatoo's, etc, but put the glasses and suit jackets on).

Lets see the heroes and the villains casual sides for the night!

Dammit. I have college on fridays and I don't get home 'til 11 pacific.

So our characters... Huh... All of my characters tend toward the "Civvies" outfits.

Heh heh... I guess my main has a suit...

And here I was... Building a "Me" on Test.

Can't quite get the goatee right... I have something similar to the "Musketeer," only not divided in the center of it like it is in the game. Also, my hair naturally curls, so it's hard to get the right hairstyle (I sold out to "Long").

Otherwise, T-shirt, jeans, shoes and glasses to match the perpetual summer. Came pretty close. Oh well.

I'll just throw my main in there, in his business suit. I mean, that's why I made the thing in the first place... For "Formal Occasions."

I'll be there as one or both of my alter-egos, AC -DC or the infamous Killbot 5000, although you may not recognise me, after all I'll be in my secret identity.

I will be joining the queue for any temp titles on offer this time around I think. As this is a Training Room event, remembering to immortalise whatever title I get in many screenshots is key!

3 years and still going strong!
See you all on the night!

Ill just have to be late for work half an hour lol

Secret identity? That's a toughy for me, all my heroes and villains are already plain clothes. My main hero's an ill/kin soccer mom...

I am trying to figure out something... and maybe it's just my own ignorance, since until recently I have played less than frequently...

HOW am I supposed to change my costume, exactly? I have never heard of "costume slots"... unless you mean the outfits you get at higher levels by doing missions... because I don't have those yet, nor do I think I would have any unused ones once I got the capability. So how do I change my look, exactly?

Is it a Test Server thing?

You can change the look of your costume at any time (for a fee) by going to an Icon shop hero-side, or a Facemaker villain-side.

Hero-side, Icon is located in Steel Canyon, Independence Port, and Founders Falls. If you're low-level, the easiest one to get to is IP, via Kings Row -- the shop is a straight shot from the IP/KR exit. Just watch out for high-level baddies.

Villain-side, the Facemaker has shops in Cap Au Diable and St. Martial. low-level villains can easily get to the one in Cap.

Either way, the shop is marked on your in-game map by a circled "i" which reads "tailor" when you mouse over it.

i'll be here all day tommorow, but sombody might want to come onto triumph and yell at me to remind me, lol

I will try to be there

I was going to bring Posi a present, but I don't have room in my tiny salvage inventory and I need everything to work on the 1,000,000,000,000 craftings required for Fabricator.

ARRRRGH!!! Again on a day where I'm closing and working til Midnight

Hmmm.... with all heroes there in a "secret identity" HOW will we know if any heroes are present? Hmmm...this is a problem. Well, maby the constant spamming of AOE powers, speed boosts and heals will give them away.
See you there!

Admittedly, I'd have preferred a disco theme. For myself and most people I play with, at least half of the costume slots are secret ID ones anyways. Most of my own characters only have one superhero costume with the rest civvies.

Yahoo! Filled up test server slots again! Not all have secret id's, but 7 of them do....lol and only one with a trenchcoat secret id...but that's such a classic...how can you pass on that one at least once...

My Villains secret identity is that of a Hellion... If I show up, I'm gonna get beat up on principle...

I'll try to bring Sin Drone but who knows what the girlfriend is gonna have planned for us on friday...now I just have to figure out how to get his body armor into a suit

A few questions:

- Do we dress as though our 'secret identity' (or as close as we may have) was invited to a party, or dress as if we got teleported to Pocket D on our 'day off'? Or dress as if our super identities were invited to Pocket D and told "dress casual, no spandex'.

- Should we RP as if we are in our 'secret identity', i.e. avoid using powers or 'revealing' in conversation that we are super/fight crime/are criminals (unless your character doesn't care), or is everyone wearing a lapel tag with their 'floaty name' written on it?

- Do we need to be able to transform at a moments notice? Or can someone make a level one 'Billy Batson' version of their character (different model, different 'floaty name' but conceptually the same person)?

OK Some clarifications for folks:

w00t Radio's Coverage / Party Start is 5p.m. Eastern. The Dev team's involvement will begin at 7p.m. Eastern.

The Dev team will depart at 11 p.m. Eastern and w00t Radio will continue coverage till 1 a.m. Eastern.

5p.m. Eastern =
11p.m. GMT
4 p.m. Central
2 p.m. Pacific

Do the math yourselves for the rest

As far as contests, the Maze of Dooom isn't a contest, just something to run for fun.

We're talking about contests and potential prizes but we'll announce what we'll do if we do anything during the party. Its very hard to do a fair contest when a several hundred to a thousand people show up.

Good point Jester..When there's too many people, too much good stuff gets lost in the shuffle.

Unfortunately I can't make it- I've got a real-world party to go to- I've spent quite a chunk of change on a chinese emperor's robe to wear- brocade's not cheap.

As for my character's secret Identity- unfortunately the costume generator doesn't allow me to dress as one of Steel Canyon's biggest skyscrapers
